AAS Fashion Design from Parsons School For Design
I have over 20 years’ experience. I have been working for major fashion brands companies in NYC. I am experienced with working with beginners, intermediate and all levels. I am offering industry level sewing classes and pattern correcting and altering techniques that will cater to your needs. I will be able to teach foundation skills of how to operate a sewing machine, how to use a serger or how to use an industrial sewing machine. I will also teach how to hand sew, follow and understand a pattern and how to finish your work beautifully. I am also going to work with you on your own personal projects.
I teach hands on beginner’s patternmaking and sewing skills that you will need for garment production, arts and crafts and any project that involves sewing. For instance: I can help you make pillows, bags, aprons, stuffed toys and other household items. If you want to make clothing, I will guide you through using a published pattern.
I will work closely with you to make sure you ...

I believe in the extraordinary power of music to communicate, to inspire and, often, to heal. That belief underlies all my work. I’ve been a classical singer for 30 years and have sung leading roles with the Caramoor Music Festival, the Aspen Music Festival, the Britten/Aldeburgh Festival, Glimmerglass Opera and the Orchestra of St. Luke's, among many others. I’ve also been a church professional for all my entire career, singing sacred music of almost every genre, including gospel.
My strongest attribute as a teacher is my sensitive and expert touch with students of all ages and personality types. The fundamentals of vocal technique underlie all my teaching, but the individual approach is tailored to each student, whatever his or her age or experience.
My goal is to help you find the power to express through singing your unique self. It doesn't matter whether your voice is professional quality or whether it's even "good" in the conventional sense. It's YOUR voice. It has its own ...

For blues guitar the first thing I do when I meet a student is to interview the student and find out why they want to learn how to play the guitar and what are some of their goals. Then I find out what style of music they would like to learn. I have the student come up with ten songs they would like to learn. I take this information and structure future guitar lessons around the essential elements of these songs. I design each lesson to teach the specific skills required to learn those songs. I create an organized binder guitar workbook and having a teaching degree I create all of the lessons to meet each students individual needs that include lessons on theory, technique, chords, rhythm, scales, arpeggios, songs, song form, and exercises etc. I use a color coded method to teach scales, chords and theory that I created that help students not only understand scales but also they are able to see visually where chords come from. I break down each song into easy digestible parts so ...

I tried to teach guitar in the same manner in which I teach every instrument. First I teach students the rudiments of the instrument. Also I teach them how to read and a bit of music theory. From that point I like to follow the students lead. They bring in songs that they would like to learn, or possibly how to play lead guitar, or how to finger pick. At every point I try to point out general aspects of music that need to be learned from the material that they choose.

I love playing and teaching the violin, and I'm so excited to share my experience with you! I have over a decade of experience with students of all backgrounds and experience levels. My time at The Juilliard School has prepared me well for whatever challenge you would like to take on together. Whether that is growing your love of the instrument, learning a new piece, finding better practice skills, or audition preparation.
Congratulations on taking an amazing first step into learning the violin, and I look forward to meeting you in our first lesson.
I have been teaching privately for over a decade, utilizing a blend of methods designed to help students discover violin technique and music theory, as well as develop skills in hypothesis and deduction that will help them become independent musicians and artists. Lana has made our daughter a very strong piano player. She taught her from the very beginning starting at how to read music and each year progressing to perform more complex and challenging piano pieces. We have enjoyed having Lana in our home whether it was listening to the lessons or watching her prepare our daughter for a piano recital. Lana has high expectations of her students and is willing to support their success with extra time, patience, and encouragement.
Lana has made music an important part of our family."
I became a better player, much tighter with my timing, turned my “chunky” picking into smooth, controlled, efficient, much better sounding playing. Matt helped me lock in to better timing (even different time signatures), and through the nuggets of theory he passed on - gave me the tools I needed to write MUCH better music! I started lessons with Matt to just “learn how to play guitar better”. I definitely got that PLUS a fun well-rounded music education too!
Matt is truly an inspiring teacher who is uber friendly and enthusiastic about teaching. His teaching makes you want to keep picking up the guitar as often as possible!"
Laurelanne is an amazing teacher. She inspires you to become great by her words of encouragement.
She has a fabulous voice and teaches you to develop your voice to a whole new level.
I highly recommend Laurelanne for new students."

Whether you have been studying voice for many years or you have just decided to get started, one of the most common questions is always “what kind of singing should I study?” There is no real answer to this since the circumstances are different for every individual, but whether you are working with a singing teacher or you are working independently you will want to ask yourself a few questions when deciding between vocal styles. In this article, I will outline what some of those poten …
