Piano lessons with me are about learning the basics and then learning to improvise. I will teach you songs, but I will also give you the tools to very quickly learn any song that you hear and like. In the beginning I'll choose songs to teach you the basics, and after that I will teach the theory behind the songs you choose so that you will understand how music is put together, so you can learn and create music more easily.

About Micah

Hi! My name is Micah, and I love composing and teaching. I love music theory and understanding why the different parts of a song work together to make it sound good. I don't do much classical and jazz teaching beyond the basics. My primary goal is to get you started reading noted music and chord ch

I am an experienced teacher of over 15 years, specializing in the beginner/intermediate piano students preferable ages 7 years upwards.
Not only will you be playing songs in no time, but you will also be taught a strong foundation of sight reading, music theory, technique, and more, and I guarantee that at the end of your class, you will be looking forward to the next class.

I am a tickler for ensuring that the material taught is learnt, and so I may use basic everyday knowledge to apply the principles. I am patient especially when dealing with young children, whose attention span may be short. I balance off the piano experience with the fundamentals of theory, which goes hand in hand with the piano playing experience. My students and their parents know that part of mastering the art of piano playing, is practising on their own at home, hence having a keyboard/piano or access to a keyboard/piano is essential. My classes are very structured.

About Patricia

I have taught piano for about fifteen (15) years at both the beginner and intermediate stages. I completed up to Grade 8 of The Royal School of Music Exams. It gives me great joy when my students are able to apply the theory foundation to the practical. I consider myself a patient teacher and lo

I Eileen Francis, a graduate of Jamaica School of Music, and as a professional piano teacher, all my exams and passes were done in Jamaica and all this was from The Associated Board of The Royal School of Music London.

Patricia started music as a child, and took all her exams right up to Grade 8. She is an excellent musician and also a wonderful teacher. She taught with me for a long time. She now plays for churches, and professionally for functions. She knows how to get small children and adults to understand and read notes and also to write music. I recommend her very highly in this profession.

I have known Mrs. Patricia Masters as a lover of Music whether it be Musical instruments, theatrical presentations, songs of different genres, she loves them all and is involved in creating the atmosphere where music has its input. She is very diligent and creative and excellent at what she does where music is concerned. Music is her life. As a teacher, a choir director and a musician, she makes sure that it is perfect for presentation and that at the end of the day, her student excels. Mrs. Masters is dependable and reliable.

I’ve been taking lessons from Kevin for about 2 months. Before that I’d been kind of aimlessly playing around with guitar. I was playing by myself for about 20 years and basically had no timing and rhythm. I’m not a funk master yet but Kevin has given me tools that have greatly improved my timing and for the first time actually believing that I’m going to do this. Thanks

I started taking lessons with Kevin about a month ago I took lessons when I was a kid, and remember some things, but my hands do not yet so what my head is telling them. Kevin has been great, adjusting to what I already know and adding a lot of music theory, which I never had learned before. Highly recommend Kevin.
Jo
I started learning Ukulele with Kevin and then picked up Guitar lately, Kevin has a systematic way of teaching, instead of covering each and every chords, he summarizes them by different shapes, and also their variations, so you can memorize the basics and find their "relative" chords easier. He also taught music theories, how each chord is formed, and if you want to play a specific song, he's also glad to help on finding the exact chord and transfer them into different notes that suits you. Definitely have your notebook ready since there's a lot to learn. The harder thing for myself is with the online class, it's not as efficient as a face-to-face one, I also tend to be less motivated to practise but you ought to just find your own motivation!

6 New Ideas for Piano Warm-Ups

We all know the importance of warming up - but do you actually commit to a proper warm-up every time you sit down to play the piano?  If you're in a rush, it's easy to forget it.  However, an effective warm-up is essential for avoiding injuries, such as tendonitis, and can also help increase the dexterity of your fingers and hands, allowing you to reach certain tough chords.
