HI, I'm Trin!

I'm excited to meet you on your journey with the viola! I love helping my students read music, understand theory, and apply their personal musicality to the art. I believe that the viola is an extension of ourselves, not just an instrument. That is something that my teacher always leads with in lessons. I am a graduate of Winthrop University, and currently pursuing a master's degree at Illinois State University. My teaching style centers around fundamental viola technique and theory, and how students can incorporate that into their own personal style. I also enjoy musicology and history fieldwork. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!



In this class, you will learn how to play and read viola music. Some lessons will be dedicated to learning the history of Western and non-western music. Lastly, we will briefly learn how to compose simple songs using the viola. These are valuable skills for students interested in starting the learning process in a comfortable environment amongst their peers.

The purpose of this Society is  to provide an organization dedicated to the furtherance of music in education and education in music in colleges, universities, and other institutions of higher learning, which offer music degree programs in one or more fields.

The primary objective of the Society is the recognition and encouragement of the highest level of musical achievement and academic scholarship.

Principal Viola

I had the pleasure of learning and growing in performance during my time in Winthrop's undergraduate string quartet. Experience in chamber music is one of the things I can offer you!

Violist

I've been teaching viola for 4 years and my students have felt more prepared in their community and school orchestras. As students progress they will better understand scales, bow technique, and musical phrasing. I specialize in beginning technique and have the following tools available for your lessons: personalized exercise packets, a keyboard, and scores. Something different about me is that I offer students methods to begin composition.

Adult students are welcome!
Recorded lessons are available.
Parents are welcome to sit in!

Cancellation Policy:
A missed lesson without notification will be charged as the full amount. Please let me know 24 hours in advance if you or your student will not be able to attend a lesson (For emergencies, just let me known as soon as you can.)

Trinity is an excellent teacher. She is not only  detail oriented, but also gives homework and provides material in advance  to help prepare for the next class.

Trinity is very knowledgeable and patient. I did not feel pressured or rushed into doing anything more than I was able. She knows her instrument very well. Very excited to continue lessons with her.

Trinity was amazing! I'm entirely new to string instruments and typically am anxious about new activities, but Trinity made everything feel calm and approachable. She walked through everything as many times as I wanted and only progressed when I felt ready. I also loved how passionate she was about the lesson; I could tell that Trinity has a genuine love of music and teaching. I can't wait for my next lesson!

I am a 13 year-old student that has played the viola for 4  years and Ms. Trinity had been the best viola teacher I’ve had so far. I feel like I have advanced so much in my playing during  the short year that she has taught me. I am now doing things that I thought were really terrifying at first, such as double stops and shifting.
I find Ms. Trinity very supportive and friendly, so I would recommend her to any kind of younger audience that may have a fear of playing certain pieces or learning something seemingly intimidating. She also likes to listen to the student’s requests and feedback, letting the student   have a choice in their learning experience.
I have also found her prices reasonable and affordable for anyone that is having trouble finding lessons that are not painful to your wallet.
Overall, I have had a pleasant experience with Ms. Trinity as a teacher and recommend her to anyone that wants to pick up the viola or just needs a little push to advance in the right direction.

Three weeks ago I blew the dust off my viola unsure of how much I remembered. After my fourth lesson with Trinity I am reading music again and learning to play one of my favorite Whitney Houston songs!! She challenges me and motivates me. I am so thankful to her and this platform.

While we experienced some minor technical difficulties initially,  Trinity was super helpful and patient as we worked through them.  

Trinity was incredibly patient, engaging, professional and above all,  friendly.  My son thoroughly enjoyed his first lesson with Trinity and looks forward to the next.
