About Anthony

As a third generation musician, I've been playing professionally and teaching for over 25 years. I've had years of private lessons, graduated from GIT in Hollywood, taken college music courses and continue to perform, record, and teach music. YOU can have fun, learning songs that YOU like, or you can learn music theory (the explanation of music) or study different styles from rock to pop to hard core to blues, funk etc. All at YOUR pace. Many of my students, started from the point where they had never picked up an instrument and have gone on to tour or earn full music scholarships. It doesn't matter if it's a young girl wanting to learn some Disney Artist or some burly blue collar worker wanting to learn some Clapton: YOU can have fun learning guitar while improving at a rapid rate.

Best Guitar Teacher!

I am 20, and I have been taking lessons with tony for almost 4 month. He really is a great teacher. He really makes guitar easy to learn and always give you confidence about learning new things. He is cool and nice, able to get you through all kinds of difficulties of learning guitar. Give hime a shot, if you really want to play guitar. He is better than any Youtube or on-line stuff.
Matthew A. Los Angeles, CA

About Matthew

I have been teaching piano, singing, and music theory/composition professionally to children and adults for over 15 years. I offer in-home or in-studio lessons to students of all levels. Instruction will start with an evaluation of the student's current abilities and a custom-tailored plan to achieve the student's goals, such as: - Playing Chords and Melodies - Reading Sheet Music Effectively - Learning Music Theory and Composition - Learning Performance Techniques *** Lesson Details *** I believe in making sure the student is comfortable and confident in the learning process. The learning musician must often be told what they are doing wrong, so a counterbalance is needed for all that negativity! Your learning environment will be open, non-threatening, and encouraging, so

Matt's been superb with my twins

My sons, now 15, have been taking piano lessons and music theory from Matt for about three years now.

Can't say enough good things about the experience. Matt is patient, thorough, flexible about days and times when needed, and from top to bottom comes across as an all-around great guy.

Gave four bars on teaching environment only because the lessons are at our house, and the rest of us aren't always quiet when Matt's teaching -- but of course that's not his fault, and he handles our disruptions with kindness and understanding!

One last cool thing about him is his contagious passion for music, not just as a teacher but as a performer, singer, and composer as well.

Highly recommended.

Learned a lot, and had fun!

Matt is very knowledgeable in music theory, piano and voice. He is very patient, explains complex music practices well, gives appropriate feedback, and lessons to help the student grow. He is reliable, flexible with a students schedule, and available on short notice. I look forward to many more lessons with Matt. Thank you.

Progressed so quickly!

Matt is just a great teacher. He focuses on getting the basics down, which is absolutely necessary but he has me playing fun music as well. I am very happy with my progress. I am an adult and my family is also very impressed with how well I can play and how I progressed every few months to new levels of playing ability.

Matt is also very pleasant and dependable making lessons a pleasure.

I also have taken some singing lessons from him. I like that he can teach both diciplines.
Bobby A. Los Angeles, CA

About Bobby

I'm a piano teacher, pianist, composer, songwriter, singer, and lifetime music lover in beautiful Los Angeles, California. I began playing piano at age 7 and was forever smitten with learning music! I progressed rapidly and by high school I was winning multiple competitions and talent shows and performed as a featured artist with local youth orchestras in Corpus Christi, Texas. When I was 16, I began teaching piano and music theory to my peers and to kids. Then it was off to Austin where at the University of Texas I studied composition (piano principal under Dr. Betty Mallard) and wrote and arranged for keys (of course) as well as voice, strings, and choral groups I sang in. I'm a fun, laid-back person and my teaching style reflects that. However I thrive on doing things the right ...

I used to think that songwriting and composition was beyond me, that it was a gift only some people had and I wasn't one of the lucky ones. I mean, I had sung in chorus some and had taken piano as a kid, but I couldn't crack the code. When I started piano back up again as a lark with Bobby and then expressed my interest in songwriting, I wasn't expecting much from myself to be honest. After all, who was I kidding? But, Bobby really helped to decrypt the structure of songwriting for me and little by little, I started to really get the hang of it. From just the basic four chord pop tune to adding in some more unexpected choices, I'm totally that singer-songwriter I always embarrassingly envisioned in my head. And, he's been great with the vocals as well, helping me to know what works for my body and providing concrete tips for the kind of singing I want to do. Top-notch guy, definitely check him out.

I took a 35+ year break from piano lessons and was a little nervous to attempt it again. But Bobby made me feel very comfortable right off the bat and has been a great instructor. Very personable and extremely patient (and I'm sure my indelicate pounding has taxed that patience at times). His studio is well set-up and comfortable, and he really knows what he is talking about. Highly recommended!

About Alfredo

Hi! My name is Al! I've been playing drums for about 11 years now, I started playing at the age of 12 when my parents bought me my first drum set. Since then drumming has been my life, everything from playing in numerous bands, drum competitions, private teaching, and National US Tours. Leaving my home town of Brownsville, TX behind, I moved out to L.A Summer of 2008 to attend the Los Angeles Music Academy, where I received my Associates Degree in Music Performance. I currently teach private lessons and I gig around town with various artists. I have lots of musical knowledge that Iv'e obtained by studying with LA's Top Drummers. I'd love to pass down my knowledge only to benefit you in your drum learning experience. If you're just a beginner, only want to take lessons for fun, or more ...

Really enjoy the lessons. Makes learning the fundamentals fun. Very patient and enthusiastic. Also, he's making learning how to read music fun, which in the past I've hated learning about, but am now enjoying. He's very encouraging.

He was very kind and patient with my Trinity. The lessons was supposed to be for my 6 yr old, but it didn't work out, it seem to Alfredo bother him he just offered to teach my other daughter instead, great way to "roll with the punches".

Ben got me launched in rock and jazz drumming. I'd never played drum set before, and he had only six weeks to help me prepare for my 8th grade jazz band audition. He cut right to what I needed to know and gave me confidence to perform well in the audition. Twelve years later I'm drumming lots and still relying on fundamentals I learned from Ben. His talent is undeniable and he has benefited from outstanding music instruction himself. I remember him as a teacher who has high standards and will urge you to get better, yet he's patient and makes lessons a lot of fun.

Balam has been my most influential teacher. He helped focus my practicing path to make every session have meaning. I was struggling with what music was to me. He helped show me that music isn't just something you do to get into college or impress the ladies; its a tool to help express your soul. Thank you Balam for all of your help and I will never forget.
