An experienced guitar player of 15 years. Especially good with beginners including both very young and older students. It's never too early or late to start playing! Will cater a specific personal lesson plan to your desires to make sure we move at YOUR best pace. We'll build a solid foundation so that you can learn how to teach yourself and continue to grow and love music long after these lessons. We can get you up and running with your favorite tunes or start delving into the musical theory side of things. I make sure that our lessons are fun but also challenging and I make sure we spend some time learning how to build finger strength, how to improvise, and (most importantly) how to play with other musicians!
About Joe
I've been playing multiple genres of guitar for over 15 years and currently a student at SIUE studying jazz guitar for a degree in Jazz Performance. I perform, teach, write, and record my own music. I have experience teaching children as young as 5 years old and adults of all ages. I emphasis not o

My tuition brings:
Personalized, well prepared, fun and practical lessons.
Continuation, each class builds on previously learned material.
Progress checks using memos taken during teaching.
My students know me for my patience, attention to detail, and positive reinforcement, but also equally for placing importance on the joy of learning.
I have been studying guitar privately for 27 years, have taught for 20 years and I am qualified to teach jazz/pop/rock guitar, improvisation, and theory. I graduated from the music performance program at Queensborough Community College. At Q.C.C. I was fortunate to receive formal training in ear training/ sight singing I-IV, music theory I-IV, convocation performance, performance juries, as well as receiving private lessons focused on jazz improvisation.
I majored in guitar performance concentrating on jazz improvisation but I also have been studying guitar privately for around 27 years with a strong emphasis on rock, blues, and pop.

First and above all, the guitar is FUN. But it can be a challenge to describe all that a guitar is to a beginner. A guitar can be played and used to express any emotion and can become a friend. In addition to conventional music notation, guitars can be learned more easily using a special system called tablature.
I like to ask what the student is wanting to accomplish on the guitar. What kind of music they like, how they want to utilize the instrument, picking, strumming, fingerstyle, etc. I can then structure lessons to help them accomplish their goals.
About Roger
I have been playing guitar for 55 years and was fortunate to have an excellent teacher when I was young. The guitar is a wonderful instrument and tool for expression but mostly FUN. I hope we can use it to bring happiness into your life.

I played music professionally for many years, both solo and in a variety of bands. I did not enjoy performing. I am a songwriter and my studio is where I feel most comfortable. I teach finger-style acoustic guitar as my default but enjoy other styles as well. Regardless of style, it will always be combined with a strong understanding of music theory and guitar basics. It doesn't matter If you are interested in more advanced topics (i.e. songwriting, recording, etc.) or are a complete beginner. I am happy to work with all levels. Let's get started. You can do this!
About Chuck
I've been writing and recording music my whole life. Aside from motorcycle riding, it's my true love.

I teach you to be a musician, not just an instrumentalist. There is a huge difference. I give you material to learn while doing my best to make it fun as well. I teach you the basics and build on that foundation. You can learn the material as fast or as slow as you want. However, it is not a canned approach because every student is unique and your learning styles reflect that. My goal is your success, truly!
About Jerry
My name is Jerry. I LOVE music and passing my knowledge on to others. I have played many different instruments in many different kinds of bands/groups. They all had one major thing in common, it was FUN! If you are not enjoying learning an instrument you won't want to learn. Lessons can be fun AND

I'm German and booked just 5 lessons due to travel reasons. There was very vage input from me to Greg when we started (I always play the same; want to get new ideas; ...). Greg did not just provide a regular standard lesson. He focused and addressed 100%+ my desires and needs. Greg provided me very conrete and great input in several aspects to what I can do to improve my guitar playing. This was very useful to me and enabled me to move my guitar play forward. I highly recommend Greg to anybody."

After I finish writing this review, I will be signing up for additional lessons.
Thanks John"

In the time I have been studying with Tim, I have done more than I thought I ever could. I went from a frustrated beginner guitar player to having enough confidence to play on stage with some of Tim’s other students and I am now looking forward to what I will be able to do on the guitar instead of being frustrated with what I can’t do.
Tim is a talented and passionate musician as well as a knowledgeable and very relatable instructor which is a rare combination and he's also a really great guy and any student of any age or ability will benefit from studying with him."

If you're familiar with blues chords and ready to start trying your hand at some riffs, this exercise from guitar teacher Samuel B. will help you get the ball rolling... As an instructor (and blues guitar afficionado), I'm keen on you developing a working knowledge of the blues. The blues is the musicological basis of all recognizable forms of American music (gospel, contemporary country, soul, rhythm & blues, bluegrass, early rock n roll, the list goes on). Therefore, said knowledge will imp …
