I've been teaching Voice Lessons for 10 years. I have structure my lessons efficiently so each student begins with the same fundamental techniques appropriate to Classical and Broadway singing. More and more revivals are showing up on Broadway and they call for a "legit" sound. That means a classical technique with a musical theater style. Be prepared! The rigors of the musical theater schedule are demanding. A good technique is your only defense against 6-9 shows a week! Protect your finest asset- your talent. No one knows how to do that better than an opera singer...especially on who has sung plenty of musical theater!

There is a saying that goes:
"People will not often remember what you say, but they will always remember how you made them feel"
Many people have been given different gifts but when someone hears you sing a song that is near and dear to their heart, using the gift of voice, I want them to remember how you made them feel.
People always say that I leave it all on the stage when I perform, well that's where it belongs. I want to touch people, make them remember great experiences they have had and even some sad moments.
I want to inspire them, cause nostalgia and emotions of every type with my performance of a song. This is the language I speak, I sing music and I help people to relate the experiences of their lives to the music they hear.
If you inspire to ...

Every person is unique and experiences their instrument in a unique way. My teaching method is highly individualized, addressing a student's psyche as much as their instrument, and relying on their feedback to make sure they understand successes or setbacks. In terms of pedagogy, I believe that the voice should be built from the top down, first strengthening the middle/higher notes and allowing for a smooth transition between the passaggi before teaching any "belting". This will ensure that vocal health is the primary goal so the student can sing for as long as they want! After vocal health, my concern is that students have fun so they keep singing. I celebrate successes (and attempts) as much as possible and take any failures or setbacks as a sign that I didn’t communicate something effectively. I have experience teaching all ages but if I am to take charge of a young voice I will need to ensure that children (under the age of 14) are committed to their vocal health by first ...
