Finding the right Piano or Voice Instructor will shape the way a student feels about music. When we make music we share a vulnerable and very unique part of ourselves. As a teacher, I strive to encourage, inspire and create an atmosphere for learning that is uniquely different for each of my students. My teaching style focuses on important skills but also emphasizes self-exploration and perhaps discovering a passion for something new. Regardless of your experience or age, singing is a wonderful expressive and educational tool. My extensive background in singing and wellness training allows me to teach students in a healthy and exciting way.

Recorded and worked with Grammy Award winning producer and songwriter David Foster, award winning producer and songwriter Jim Brickman and many others. Appeared and performed on all major US broadcast networks and prominent cable channels. Been interviewed on Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood and Extra and performed and been interviewed on the international talk show Christopher Close Up, which airs in 166 countries. Been featured and performed for millions at the Kentucky Derby and the Christmas Tree Lighting at Rockefeller Center. Been a celebrity guest on nationally syndicated radio shows like, "Delilah", “Your Weekend with Jim Brickman” and ABC radio.

I enjoy working with students of all ages and experience levels. I've been teaching and coaching for over 22 years. My students range from beginners to professional recording and concert artist. My unique style of teaching brings out the best in my students.

In singing, we learn ear training, as well as note-reading, and a variety of vocal techniques, including breathing, pronunciation, strengthening the vocal muscles, and expanding the student's range. We also talk about the story telling behind the lyrics of a song and various performing techniques.

For books, I use the Full Voice Workbook series, in combination with some of my own materials for ear-training and basic theory. I use a variety of songbooks that focus on Disney songs, Broadway/show tunes, classical, and folk songs, depending on the student's age. If there are songs the student wants to work on outside of our regular lesson material, I encourage them to bring that to the lesson as well.

Graduate of Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. I begin teaching with the fundamentals of healthy technique. While I am trained in and teach bel canto/classical voice, I believe the fundamentals of healthy, relaxed singing are useful in any genre and in ensemble singing. By freeing the voice in this way: singing feels easier, the tone becomes more colorful, and the singer is able to truly express the message of the song.

Our music instruction program is spearheaded by music industry veteran, Tony M., who has a reputation for the ability to work with a wide range of students of all levels, and getting amazing results. Students frustrated with traditional teaching methods and slow results who come to Solfege are amazed at the progress and results they are able to obtain under Mr. M's direction. Enhanced breathing technique, expanded octave ranges and overall increased vocal ability are just some of what you can expect from the instruction you will receive.
