When it comes to learning a new talent, I believe that patience and consistency is key. Before working with a new student or family, I find it important that we discuss the student's interests and goals for the instrument. From there, I determine a structured lesson plan based on the individual's needs and musical experience. I teach many different musical styles including classical, folk, bluegrass, celtic, pop, etc.
During the course of private music lessons my students will learn basic to advanced instrumental techniques, songs, scales, sight-reading, and basic music theory. I also prepare many of my students for musical examinations, auditions and live performances.
I am new to TakeLessons.com but have been teaching for many years. Here is what some people have had to say about me.
"Hannah was an absolute pleasure to work with. My son took violin lessons with her from 6th grade until his junior year. She is a wonderful teacher who is both knowledgeable and patient as well as having an excellent rapport with her students. I would highly recommend Hannah for any age group of student."

"Hannah , does a great job teaching students of all ages. I am an adult student and have been taking violin lessons for 3 years. She challenges me and pushes for improvement. "Ms. Hannah has been teaching my son for about 9 months. He began violin lessons right before his fifth birthday. Ms. Hannah is very patient with him in lessons and he adores her. In addition, she works with us and coaches us on how we can practice at home. We have seen so much progress this year, and we are excited to see how far he can go with Ms. Hannah’s help".
-Ann B. February 13, 2018
"Hannah has taught me violin for 9 years. Under her guidance and instruction I improved so much I auditioned for and was accepted to the Mastery Orchestra at my high school. Lessons with Hannah have always been engaging, and she has the ability to reveal problem areas without being discouraging. I highly recommend her teaching."

"Mrs. Hannah, as we call her, is an outstanding instructor and has a precious heart. Her teaching style is one of comfort - she “reads” each student and teaches at the perfect pace for each individual, she is sweet, full of joy and always patient. We are incredibly thankful to have found her as an instructor."
- Jennifer B. February 4, 2018
"I've been taking violin from Hannah for almost a year and it has been amazing! Starting the violin at age 55+ was exciting but anxiety producing but Hannah made me feel from the first moment that I could do this. She is an awesome teacher and is so talented herself! I have learned so much and could not ask for a better experience."
-Melissa H. February 3, 2018
"Very pleased with Mrs. F. My daughter & I know Hannah for 2 years since she's still Ms. Jones until she got married and become Mrs. F. Mrs. F. aren't just sharing the love of music but she share love and care for my daughter. My daughter loves to go to her Violin lessons. She is very excited and happy every time she gets to learn with Hannah. She started to practice and work hard with Hannah's guidance since 2014. She enjoy learning process and I am so happy to see her progressing so well. Hannah's personality, high professional and communication very well with parents and she will come out of the room to greet & meet and talk to you before the lesson and after the lesson she will always give you an update about your child learning and what they're working on for the next level. Hannah is a very dedicated music teacher if you are looking to hire someone to teach your kids; look no further. Hannah is the one. She's very sweet, kind, care and very friendly. My daughter has improved so much since start learning with Hannah. She made it to become a Concert Master at Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra (GYSO) and also made it to Honor Orchestra 2016. I couldn't be any happier than this. My daughter loves of violin has grown so much over years of practices with Hannah. I can't thanks her enough for what she has made my daughter become very successful.

In gist, here's are the skills I can teach you exceptionally well:
- Music Production
- Drumset / drumming
Before we get into my lesson structure, a little about me and why I know I can help. Why should you listen to me if I don't know my background? :)
I am a full-time music producer, musician, and DJ. I started playing percussion in 6th grade, which was 14 years ago. Since then, I've literally immersed myself in music about as much as you can!
I've competed in honor and all-state band for 7 years in a row throughout middle and high school, was 1 of 6 awarded into the Governor's Honors program for percussion in 2010, and was the only recipient of a jazz drum set scholarship at Georgia College in 2011. Our
As far as music production goes, it's now my main focus. I started learning the ins and outs of music production in high school in 2010. Since then, I've taken courses in music technology throughout college, made music as a hobby, then took the full leap in January of 2016. I'm on the journey now and since that time I've had some pretty amazing things happen. I produce music almost every day, so everything you learn from me is what's current and what works!
Music has always been my life. I was INCREDIBLY lucky to have been fostered and taught by some of the most passionate and selfless music teachers in the state. Now that I am old enough to realize it, they literally shaped my life and helped me become the person I am today. What if I can give back in the same way and help students learn to discover what they truly love?
I DJ as well. It's been amazing to DJ for over 20 weddings in the last year alone. I don't only do weddings, I also DJ around the city in clubs and venues every month. Started with the decks in 2011.
Flash forward to today and I'm hustling harder than ever. After graduating from The University of Georgia in 2015 with a degree in Management and Music Business, and a minor in Music Technology, I am a full-time, touring music producer and DJ. I reside in Virginia Highlands (very safe, family-friendly area) in Atlanta and have my own house, studio, and drum set, in which I can tutor you. In person - or online!
* Drumming / Drum Set
* Music Production (Ableton)
* DJing (Serato)
Because of my extensive background in percussion, I can teach the fundamentals of drumming, whether on a pad or on drum set.
Drumming styles I can teach: Jazz, Latin , Funk , Rock , Swing , Metal, Classical
Drumming techniques I can teach: Syncopation , Chop-Building Exercises, Coordination , Double-Bass Drum technique, Rudiments, prep for Honor Band or All- State, scales on the piano
Can even teach you the drum part to just about any song! Yes really, if that's what you want!
Years of teaching experience: 2
Years of playing experience: +14
Minored in Music Technology at The University of Georgia.
What I know and can teach:
- Producing tracks start to finish
- Navigating and understanding Ableton
- Using legal samples in your music to help you
- Mixing your tracks
- Workflow techniques
- Song structure
- Advice from one seasoned music producer to another!
I've been through a lot of work and stressful times to figure out what works and what doesn't. Let my experience be of benefit to you, so that I can shorten your learning curve :)
I've written an article on music production workflow that was published by Heroic Academy. A record label named Gravitas Create interviewed me recently, regarding how to finish music. I can send those to you if you want.

DJing and producing music go hand in hand these days. I started DJing in college for fun and for cash as a broke college student. That was back in 2011.
Flash forward to today and weddings, private events, and my own DJ gigs are the main way I make most of my income. I have 4 weddings booked already in October alone, some booked for 2019, and have done over 20 weddings in the last year.
I run my own Wedding DJ business with dozens of 5 star reviews ("OnCue Events" on weddingwire). And the DJ that I sub-contract under is one of Atlanta's top DJ's. Luckily, he was my mentor!
Check my weddingwire profile here if you would like:
If you're not interested in weddings, no fear. Those are great fun and a way to earn some money. But what's even more fun is playing your own shows. I've been lucky enough to have just signed with a booking agency for my artist name, Pure Colors, so I think I can teach you a thing or two about how to slay the dancefloor!
Here's what I know:
- How to DJ in Serato (currently using)
- How to DJ in Traktor
- Ableton DJing (less proficient)
Why I actually know what I'm doing:
I do this all the time. It's taken years of practice to become a great DJ. I used to think it was easy, but I've come to learn that with most skills in life, anyone can be okay and call themselves a DJ. But if you want to really get a grasp for how to professionally DJ, make smooth transitions, beat match amazingly (without using the sync-button...), read a crowd, learn new techniques and prep your tracks, and other things I haven't mentioned, well...
I can help!
Where I've played:
- Aisle 5 (Atl)
- Terminal West (Atl)
- 3 music festivals in 2018, (Athens Ga, Tennesee, Sparta Ga)
- 2 self-promoted events at Speakeasy Atl
A lot of people come out to these shows. Anyway, I hope that helps put some trust in me, that's the point of all this info.
Genres I DJ, and therefore what I can teach:
- House music (deep house, disco house, jackin house, funky house, downtempo house, G house)
- Pop and Top 40
- Rap / Hip-hop
Have any questions?
We'll go over all the basics if you're new to it, or I can teach more advanced lessons to those looking to get out of the bedroom and into the club. Let's talk! :)

That's when I found Joey - and this guy knows his stuff. He's been producing for a few years now and after listening to his music, I could tell he was the real deal. I just started my lessons not long ago, but so far he's helped me in Ableton tremendously. I'm able to understand the various plug-ins, create new sounds when I get that creative "spark" instead of just bumbling around, and now I can actually finish a song.
I fully recommend Joey, he's super patient and has made this process just so much easier for me.
