In my lessons I really listen to my students especially when it comes to the type of music that they want to learn. Many times they will bring ideas to me that they have heard or seen. I do insist on reading and using the music as a tool to improve on sight reading, rhythm and other basic studies of music. I try to make it enjoyable and fun and not a stressful experience.
I began my love for the piano and music at age 9. It has been a huge part of my life ever since. I have a BA in Music Performance and have been teaching and performing for many years and love it! I teach students of all ages and levels which I thoroughly enjoy. I am open to all genres of mu

I work with you. Wherever you are at in your craft, I customize my lessons to your personal journey. Your goals, style and skill level. Every voice and every vocalist is unique and special. Growing your voice and strengthening your technique is my primary goal. Strong vocalists sing with healthy practices and self care and are able to explore all styles and genres with ease. I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your singing goals.
My approach to singing is rooted in creating a deep understanding of the body as our instrument. We'll start our vocal practice on yoga mats and open up our bodies before deep breathing pranayama exercises, vocal warm-ups, ear-training, and finally repertoire and artistry. In-person lessons at my s

In my lessons, I provide my students with both technical studies as well as appropriate and inspiring music to develop their skills and help them reach their goals.
I've been teaching violin, viola, and fiddle for 13 years, and I love sharing all kinds of music with my students. To do that, I've developed my own teaching method that includes learning by ear and learning from sheet music, with music tailored to each student's age, level, and musical tastes. The
She helps me refine and improve the skills I already have as well as learn new ones. She also adapts her teaching style to her students’ needs - if something seems like it’s not working for you, then she’ll help find a way that actually helps you develop your skills. She’s also really kind and understanding, and makes genuine connections with her students. I highly recommend taking lessons from her.

Hi, my name is Gabriel and I'm a violinist currently serving as Assistant Concertmaster of the Annapolis Symphony, Principal Violin II of the York Symphony, and a section violinist in the Harrisburg Symphony. In addition to extensive orchestral experience, I am looking forward to performing as soloist in an upcoming concert with the York Symphony, and I have given numerous chamber music performances and other small recitals.
My musical education was completed at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, where I received three music performance degrees: BM, MM, and GPD. I was awarded top merit scholarships for all of my studies there, and I received the first prize in the undergraduate violin competition.
Feel free to check out sample videos of my playing below!

I highly recommend him"
What I enjoyed most about Matt was that he had the capability to be super flexible and encouraging. In my first lesson, I was very nervous and unsure of my song choices. He was confident and knowledgable with the capability to provide several great song choices with just a short warm-up with me and listening to my voice. He knew exactly what I needed to work on and by my third lesson, my friends and family were able to hear a difference.
I became more confident and came to lessons more sure of what I wanted and envisioned for my audition. Matt was flexible and not only gave me the freedom to add my own ideas to the music, but encouraged me to be original. He also gave me insight and tips on introduction, stance, and how to be more theatrical on stage.
Matt is very professional, knowledgable, and I will definately come back for more lessons with him. I highly recommend him."
Greg was very patient throughout the lessons, and would tailor the sessions towards my interests. A common thing we would do is go over some theory and then learn a song to learn how those concepts are applied in a real musical piece.
After my sessions with Greg, I feel like I have a solid foundation in guitar and I have the confidence to go out and learn any song or concept.
I would highly recommend! Thanks Greg!"
The use of a slide is an interesting concept on the modern steel-string guitar. The ability to use a hard object around one’s finger, such as a broken glass bottle neck, sounds bizarre to a player who has never heard of this technique before. Slide guitar is commonly heard in blues music and it involves pressing an object into the strings to create glissandos (slides) and vibrato to emulate a human voice. In this article we will discuss the origins and playing style of this unique technique, …

The piano is a beautiful instrument capable of playing a wide array of sounds, from staccato to grandiose. In fact, the full name pianoforte literally means “soft-loud,” hinting to a composer’s freedom to create a diverse range of emotions and volumes on the instrument. When the piano came around, it unlocked a level of harmony and dynamics traditionally reserved for orchestras. Certain famous classical piano songs have stood the test of time, making their way into our modern lives and …
