I have taught voice lessons to over 250 private students since graduating from Berklee college of Music in 1999. I have extensive experience performing and recording professionally. I teach all levels whether it's for the shower or for the stage. I find that fear is often the biggest limiting factor no matter what level the student is at. Let me help you to release that fear and reach for the stars!

About Carey
I have taught over 250 private voice students in Boston, CT, New York City, and Lakewood Ranch, FL. I specialize in contemporary styles ranging from musical theater, to pop, to blues, to R&B and beyond. I graduated with a professional music degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. I performed professionally for 15 years: as a wedding singer, on tour as a backup singer, in a musical at Carnegie Hall, with a big band at the Rainbow Room, at the Bitter End debuting my CD of original music, as a house studio vocalist for a NYC recording studio, and more. I have tons of great references available!

Carey is currently working with our 9yo daughter. She has built a wonderful rapport, is very patient, and has helped our daughter's interest in music blossom into full fruition. It's truly wonderful to see our daughter having fun doing something she loves, and it takes a special teacher to make that happen with kids. Highly recommend.

We will cover vocal warm-ups, all necessary music theory for the genre that interests you, and any music performance needed. For students auditioning, we can have intensive rehearsal to prepare you before your audition date.

About Nicole
Nicole began her musical journey in Long Island, New York when she began piano lessons at age five. While receiving training on piano, she joined her elementary school orchestra in the 3rd grade and quickly soared with violin. During this period, Nicole began learning music theory and the art of reading music. As a fourth grader, Nicole would go on to conduct and tune every instrument in her orchestra during rehearsal. She always competed and won many NYSMA competitions for violin while attending music seminars and workshops. It was then that her teacher realized she had a gift. Nicole continued with piano lessons and began teaching herself guitar. Later, after college, she bought herself a drum set and began to teach herself drums.
As an adult, Nicole studied to become an elementary teacher and worked in the New York State Sch
ool Districts for over five years. Shortly after receiving her master€'s degree for Literacy Education, Nicole decided to attempt to share her passion for music. In 2007, Nicole opened a music studio in Holbrook, New York. Here, she refined her music teaching skills while establishing Nicolex Inc. Music Island as a leading source of quality music education. Her summer traveling music program allowed her students to experience live performances as well as create music groups with peers with the same passion for music.
Nicole now resides in Tampa, Florida with hopes to spread her business as well as the joy of music to children and adults. She currently is the singer for a local original rock band. In this band, Nicole writes songs, sings, plays guitar/piano (not all at the same time). Needless to say, she understands the importance that music has had in her life and wishes to ignite that passion in other music lovers.

*** Lesson Details ***
My teaching style is best labeled as kind but firm. I take my job very seriously and want wholeheartedly for my students to have music as a part of their life, not just a part of their day. I love to laugh and have fun but I will definitely expect my students to practice and complete any homework I assign and be prepared for the following lesson. Simply stated, music is fun and the love of my life, but if I still practice, you will as well. Otherwise, I always believe in teaching songs my students are interested in and will expand their musical skills. My experience as a public school teacher had enhanced my sense of finding individual needs of every student. Therefore, I always differentiate lessons to suit my students interest while teaching them the foundations every musician needs in order to be successful. My specialty is teaching a variety of instruments. I play drums, guitar, bass, piano, and sing as well. So, if one instrument is not for you, I can teach you something different without a problem. Long story short, friends, you are in good hands.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Full Service music room: Keyboard, Full drum kit, Electric Guitar with 30 watts Amp and Microphone/ vocal monitor.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can bring a 76 key Yahama YPG-235 Keyboard for your household to use for lessons for a small monthly rental fee. I have an Epiphone Electric Guitar with 30w amplifier. Will also bring microphone and monitor for vocal lessons.

*** Specialties ***
I have taught mostly Rock, Blues, and Classical genres for Piano, Guitar, Drums. Vocally, I specialize in R&B, Broadway, Pop, Top 100 and alternative/Hard Rock. I will adapt to your needs.

I have been teaching Singing for about 10 years. My lessons involve warm ups, exercises, and technique to start the lessons. I like to get to know my students and once we determine what we are working on, we choose songs together that they would like to work on. We set up a plan or what they would like to work towards and create a vision together. My teaching style is laid back within structure and creative! I like to help students find their own individual voice and style.

About Rose
I graduated from the University of South Florida where I received my BA in Theatre performance & Communication with a minor in Dance. In 2011 I finished studying Music Recording at St. Petersburg College, where I focused on Singing/Songwriting. I trained at NYU with the Aquila acting company in classical theatre, and I also trained with TVI Acting studios in Los Angeles in Film and television.

My Music and Performance experience started when I was 6 singing in choir, school productions, and taking piano lessons. I continued on with group ensembles, musical theatre shows and later on touring with the Spanish Lyric Theatre in Both English and Spanish in throughout Florida after college.

I have been teaching one on one and group lessons for 15 years in various subjects, Including Music, Dance, Theatre, Academic Tutoring (Eleme
ntary/Middle School subjects: English, Writing, Reading, Math, Social Studies, Reading, Writing, Learning Skills, Civics, French, and test preparations), and Culinary Lessons.

*** Lesson Details ***
I like the combination of relaxed and goal oriented. I like to get to know my students and learn about about expectations and goals they have for themselves. Then I set up a plan that will help them achieve their goals and get them closer to what they want from their lessons. I take into consideration their interest, style, and help them to find their unique learning style.

I do have some guidelines for parents and students. If the student is a minor, I ask that the parent be in the house for the lesson. I also ask that the lesson be performed in the Living room or Music Space.

Body alignment. Proper breathing and breath management. Vibrancy and resonance. Increased range of pitch and volume. Unification of your voice. And CONFIDENCE! Come and get it!

I've been teaching and helping people prepare for success and joy in singing for 26 years.

Having proper technical skills that become second nature, confidence with the music and excellent diction are all part of the package. I'll help you gain those skills.

I tailor lessons to each student's needs, talents and learning styles. And I try to ensure that you sing with ease and in a healthy manner with joy! I don't expect you to become a star (unless you want to). Just have a good time and sing what you want to!

About Laura
Of course you want an experienced, passionate, patient and compassionate teacher! Teaching is not my job; it is my calling and I am very good at it.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education (1987, Ball State University) and a Master of Music degree in Voice (1994, University of South Florida). I've taught in public schools in Sarasota. Currently I am adjunct staff for State College of Florida (formerly Manatee Community College) teaching private voice and piano lessons and music appreciation classes.

My music studio has been serving music students in the Sarasota area since 1991.

All are welcome! Lessons are for students of all abilities. Some students come with just the desire to sing or play better for their own pleasure, others come with prior training, some are preparing for an audition and some even wish to ma
ke a career in music. Some people have come seeking help with their speaking voice for public speaking. My goal is to help my students meet and exceed their goals and have more life through the joy of music, to help them gain greater appreciation of music and increase their confidence both in music and in life!

*** Lesson Details ***
When a student and I first meet I ask the student what her/his hopes, goals, tastes and prior experience are. Then we talk about plans for achieving those hopes and goals.

Most of my students are studying music just because they love music and want to improve for their own benefit. Because of that, while I want students to progress, I am very patient. I understand that some weeks it's harder to find time for practice. I provide instruction and tools for growth, and show how to practice, then the students go home, use them and discover what works best for them.

Vocal lessons are tailored to each individual. Exercises include posture, breathing, diction, projection of the voice, unification of the voice, improvement of tone, range and flexibility. Healthy, beautiful singing is the goal. The confidence that goes along with that is amazing!

CDs with exercises and accompaniments are provided. And students can make CDs of their own performances!

Piano instruction is also tailored to the needs of each individual student. With young beginners I often use the "Faber" method. It has books for music theory, technique, lessons and performance. And students enjoy playing along with the Cd that goes with their pieces.

For older beginners, including adults, I often use the "Bastien, Older Beginner" or "Alfred, Adult Beginner". Both quickly teach melody and chord reading so that students can play more interesting pieces within a month. The lesson materials are supplemented by simple classical pieces or other music the student is interested in.

When a student comes in with prior training I continue with what she/he has been working on and adjust it as necessary. Literature for more advanced students is chosen with their abilities, technical and expressive needs.

*** Studio Equipment ***
The studio area is closed off from the rest of the house. There is a small seating area for parents which is separated by a screen from the lesson area. I have a Yamaha CVP-103 digital keyboard with weighted and touch sensitive keys, plus lots of different instrument sounds and beats to make playing and singing more fun. I can also adjust the pitch of songs so that they fit the student's voice. The keyboard is plugged into a Super Scope Cd recorder; a microphone is plugged in as well. This allows me to make recordings of accompaniments and practice exercises, as well as recording students' performances. (See below for photos.)

*** Specialties ***
I have been teaching professionally since 1987; I have Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music. I discover the goals a student has and give them the tools to reach those goals. My teaching style is structured yet highly personalized for the individual. I teach music ranging from Classical to Popular always using the best techniques.

About Nicole
Voice & flute students age 10 and up
Piano students age 4 and up

(I've taught age 3 and up before, however the ages I've listed above for lessons is what I have found to be most effective. Group classes may be a good alternative for very young students seeking voice or band instruments.)

Hello, fellow music lovers! My name is Nicole and I would be honored to have the opportunity to help you take your music skills, whether beginning to advanced, to the next level! I am a singer with 25+ years of experience with solos, small ensemble groups, and large choirs. My singing styles range from opera, musical theatre, jazz, gospel, and christian contemporary, just to name a few. : )  I am also an experienced flutist with 5 + years of study and an intermediate-level pianist with about 5 years of study in the classical technique, and playin
g chords to follow most any style. I also enjoy teaching some music theory (the rules of music) in written, sight singing, and piano chords, if requested. Music theory along with voice and instrument lessons can provide a further understanding of each musical concept.

My training first began in elementary school, in Virginia Beach, VA, when I took my first group voice lessons and concert band classes as a beginning flutist. I continued my study with a large home school band in the 7th grade. I was then chosen to play the flute in an All City Band in Virginia Beach, for excellence in my performance skills. From there I continued my study at a private school in Virginia Beach with many chorus, band, and youth band classes to further my music reading and improvisational performance skills. At age eighteen I moved to Tampa, FL and became a Liberal Arts major with a concentration in Music at Hillsborough Community College (HCC). I graduated from HCC with an AA in Liberal Arts/Music. I was then accepted to further my music study at the University of South Florida (USF). I studied voice and a sampling of other instruments in the Music Education program. I graduated with two and one-half years of music education training and another four years of voice training with a BA in Music Studies. Also, during my college years I participated in the elite USF Chamber Singers, the University Singers, the Master Chorale of Tampa Bay, and many studio recitals.

In 2013 I completed my fourth year of music teaching in a small private school in Tampa, FL. I have sang with Opera Tampa since their 2012-2013 season in the professional opera chorus for productions such as Carmen, The Magic Flute, and Madame Butterfly. I have continued to add new performance jobs with The Princeton Festival in Princeton, NJ (2014), St. Petersburg Opera in St Pete, FL , and the Tampa Spiritual Ensemble performing in the surrounding Tampa Bay areas. In addition, I continue my studies part time at the Patel Conservatory in downtown Tampa.

I look forward to working with you to make all your music dreams come true! So, let's make beautiful music together very soon!

*** Lesson Details ***
When taking lessons with me you can expect to learn in a very positive, encouraging, and laid back environment! I believe that learning is fun, very rewarding, and never stops. I plan to continue learning more about my craft for the rest of my life and I would encourage my students of all ages to adopt this mentality also.

For voice lessons I like to begin with warm-ups and breathing exercises that can be modified to any style of songs. Then to song selections that will be enjoyable, yet helpful in making your voice better. For opera style I primarily use the G. Schirmer Opera Anthology books, and Hal Leonard published anthology series' for different art songs. For all other vocal styles I enjoy using various published individual-song sheet music or CDs and accompaniment tracks. Along the way giving all applicable tips for producing better sound, projection, breathing, phrasing, and musicality.

For flute lessons I would begin with scales or simple exercises. Then to specific pieces that you would want to work on or techniques from the Accent on Achievement or Standards of Excellence book series'.

For piano lessons I would begin with finger stretches, scale warm-ups and/or easy chords or pieces to get the fingers ready to practice. Then I would progress to your chosen pieces or a book from the Alfred or Bastien Piano Book series', which includes books for all levels and styles.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide a keyboard for demos and use for students, a flute for demos, CDs, and some lesson books.

*** Specialties ***
Vocal: Up to advanced level Classical, Jazz, Musical Theatre, R&B, Pop, Gospel, Sight-reading
Flute: Up to Intermediate level Classical, Sight-reading

"Experienced voice teacher of 10 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages 13 and up. I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong vocal technique. I am a proponent of Functional Singing which focuses on how the vocal mechanism works. It allows both teacher and singer to explore the voice and its associated muscle systems. Singers learn to embrace their voice, not one that is falsified through imitation.
Want to sing as easy as you speak? Then contact me and let's get to work.

About Shannon
Shannon teaches functional singing which aims to improve vocal range, stamina, endurance, flexibility, and most importantly: healthy singing.

Shannon received her M.M. in Vocal Performance at Louisiana State University. She has performed extensively in Europe and the U.S. in opera, musical theater and concerts.

Before moving to Tampa, Florida, She lived in North Carolina where she taught as an adjunct voice professor for the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and Methodist University. She also maintained her own private studio where she coached students on audition preparation for college and professional theater auditions.

Her students consists of actors, dancers, and singers of opera, musical theater, and pop. She teaches students of all ages, but tends to work mostly with adult and high school aged singers.

About Mario
I am a professional singer who graduated as a Master vocal performer from the Universiy of Miami. I am happily married and my wife and I just moved to Lakeland from the hot Miami beaches!

I specialize in theatre music and am also passionate about a variety of styles ranging from pop to classical.
Whatever the genre, I will help you develop a technique that is tailored to you perfectly!

I sing a lot and am currently singing as one of the opera Tampa Singers at the Straz center in Tampa.
I love teaching and especially performing! But to get that singing gig it's all about the audition, and I've been there. So if you want to know how to score one with the judges during an audition, I'm your guy!

I have a passion for teaching and find finding a vocal technique that is just right with every single student!

Last year I taught voice and p
iano lessons at two different schools in Miami Florida, Florida Christian school and Miami Fine Arts academy. Both schools had wonderful students with great talent and after a year of study with me Every student was confident and excited to perform to show off their new musical prowess!

Ive also been teaching piano for several years and boy do I have a passion for this instrument. No other instrument can really compare to the music a piano can make in my opinion.

Nothing really beats the feeling of accomplishment you get once you've mastered a piano piece!

I love to meet other music lovers and cultivate a comfortable learning environment fit for musical growth! Let's do some work!

I found Mario to be a very knowledgeable instructor. He seemed extremely energetic, enthusiastic and passionate about the lesson. He listened to all the concerns I had about singing and really worked with me to begin the process of moving forward and singing with confidence. I appreciated how we didn't just stick with one style of music. He had me choose music from different genres. I would recommend him to anyone interested in singing. I meant to give him 5 stars in the previous review. I accidentally bumped one down. My apologies!!!

Knowledgeable, enthusiastic, passionate, and himself very talented, Mario is an outstanding voice teacher. What might be his best trait, however, is his belief in the capabilities of his students. Using a kind but gentle teaching style, he pushes students to develop their voices and become the better singers they want to be. Working with him, I improved immensely, and was sorry that his move meant he would no longer be my teacher. I am delighted, however, that others will get an opportunity to learn from him! I love teaching voice! I give my students warm ups and then let them shine! Whatever you want to sing, I will help you sing it.

I have mostly taught covers of popular songs, but can also teach Italian and some opera. My favorite approach is to let the student pick their favorite genre, and then help them sing the songs that give them passion.

About Jessica
Hi! My name is Jessica

If you're looking for an enthusiastic teacher who loves her students (and may be a little bit nerdy), look no further! I teach voice, piano, ukulele, and steel drums.

Pasta, my dogs, and the color green are all the greatest things in life.

Music is a personal journey, and is unique for each person. I love to help people discover and grow their own passion. There is nothing more rewarding than being a part of watching someone develop into an artist who then goes on to influence others on their own journey.

Whatever it is you need, whatever you are here for, your passion is what will push you and lead you, and I am just here to help you with whatever direction you choose.

I have a solid background in live performance, professional gigging, music writing, singing, music theory, and of course in your ins
trument of choice. So whatever you'd like to work on I can help.

Can't wait to meet you! :)
