Hi, there! My name is Elizabeth and I can't wait to meet you! I've been teaching private lessons since 2013 and have loved helping my students learn a new skill and gain confidence in their abilities. I went to UNCGreensboror and earned a degree in fashion design in 2003. I'm a patient and fun person and my teaching style is something I try to tailor to each student's goals and needs on an individual basis. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!

We will be making cheesecake! Learn a classic recipe and how to modify it to create unique and special versions perfect for holiday gatherings or special events. 

Ingredients:

1 &frac14;  cups graham cracker crumbs

1 &frac14;  cups vanilla wafer crumbs

4 tablespoons (&frac12; stick) unsalted butter, melted

16 ounces cream cheese softened

1 cup sugar

3 large eggs at room temperature

1 &frac12; cups sour cream

1 tablespoon vanilla

about 1 quart of boiling water

Tools:

9-inch spring form pan

electric stand mixer or electric hand mixer

measuring cups

measuring spoons

large bowl

spatula

small sauce bowl for cracking eggs

2 quart baking dish

blender or small chopper to crush up the vanilla wafers

My cousin asked my mother and myself to bake 600 cookies to be served as part of the dessert to go along with the cake at her wedding. We did 8 virieties of cookies and transported them over 500 miles from NC to Kentucky for the wedding. Awesome success!

I've done various jobs over the  years for people. Bridal alterations, prom dress alterations, costume designs, men's pants and suits, women's jacket alterations, zipper replacements, and much more. I've worked with all kinds of fabrics including basic cotton, vinyl, leather, stretch fabrics, silk, satin, shear fabrics, denim, canvas, and much more!

I grew up with a stay at home mom so I was lucky enough to learn to not only cook but bake as well. At holiday times family members will put in requests before Thanksgiving for cookies, fudge, cakes and spiced nuts my mom and I make together. Baking has more science to it than cooking, but that doesn't mean it can't be mastered. Afraid of pie crust? Not sure what exactly the difference is between a muffin or cupcake? No worries! It can all be taught! It doesn't take expensive and exotic ingredients just to make a good dessert. I will teach you to bake with confidence so you can impress your in-laws, co-workers, or one up that neighbor that's always too perfect at the holidays.

Elizabeth was AMAZING! She made sure I was comfortable with the skills we went over before she left and she was so full of information! She gave me confidence in my project and made me aware of more tools that will really help me in the future. If you want to learn amything at all about sewing you need Elizabeth!

Elizabeth was amazing! Exactly what I needed and so easy to understand in her instruction and guidance. Very knowledgeable in all things sewing and sewing machines, she was a definite life saver in my struggles! On time and took time in explaining things to me to make sure I completely understood!
