Students will learn how to manipulate their voices, discover their own style, learn classical vocal training, as well as solfeggio as means for learning scales, arpeggios and improvisation and harmonization. Students should be prepared to bring in some songs they wish to learn to work on. Together we can discover other songs to further build their technique.

My 16 year old daughter loves working with Jennifer and feels she learns a lot. She's a beginner and Jennifer is excellent at starting her with the basics but still making it fun.

Offering beginning voice lessons to all ages in all genres and styles.
Lessons are catered to the individual student's goals and learning styles.
Unlike instructors who only use karaoke tracks for accompaniment, I accompany my students on the piano. This allows me to make accompaniment recordings for the students to practice with. I provide warm-ups, melody tracks and full piano accompaniment tracks (at appropriate tempos). This is very beneficial for students when practicing as the accompaniment recordings can "grow" with their skill level on each song. It also gives the student the flexibility to choose songs that would normally be outside of their vocal range, because we can transpose the song and make recordings in a key that works for them!
I specialize in working with young voices that are still developing and helping students learn the differences between choral singing and solo singing.
About Kit
With 2 degrees in music and more than 12 years of teaching experience, I offer piano and voice lessons to any age and any level! I consider the most important aspect of teaching to be creating an environment where a love of music can be discovered and nurtured. Everyone is offered the opportunity

As a vocalist trained in Classical, Jazz, and popular styles of music, I have come to understand that the art of singing is inherently a highly emotional, physical and intellectual experience. With precise discipline, motivation and perseverance, music can seemingly fall into place. When these elements are united in preparation for a performance, the voice becomes free and the possibilities seem endless. My goal as a an artist and teacher is to discover these boundless possibilities for myself and therefore my students.
To best do this, I have adopted an adaptive and collaborative style of teaching. At the start of each semester I assess each student’s unique strengths, goals, and expectations. Once this is done I am able to create a personalized lesson plan that will evolve as each student progresses in his or her training. A focus on instilling the foundational skills of discipline, stamina and creativity in accordance with functional voice technique, results in the growth of ...

Felt super nervous my first month, but Lawrence helps chill you out and definitely works with you to get out of your comfort zone.
I already feel and hear a difference in my singing voice - so I'm super stoked about my progress in the months to come.
It's also great that he's still working and getting his own gigs because it keeps him current on what being a performer is all about.
He's super talented and always gets over 10k on his youtube videos, like for real- if you're going to learn a talent you should definitely learn from someone whose killing it! Highly Recommend!
Lawrence, you're stuck with me bro."

I started my lessons with JoAnn about a year ago as a totally beginner! I was incredibly nervous since I never really sung in front of other people besides my family and some friends! JoAnn showed me right away that I didn't have to be! She is a great teacher with amazing tips, calm and patient and with her help I learned a lot within only one year! Every lesson I took so far was totally helpful and definitely fun! I can only recommend her!"
