I have always had a love for music. From all the music trivia games my family won't play with me, to my large collection of records, cassettes, and CDs - I am hooked! I made my solo performance debut at age 7 by singing "It's A Small World" acapella in a school talent show. At age 9 I started

John is a very effective teacher. I took bass lessons and I have improved so much. John is an amazing teacher and I would recommend him to anyone looking to learn the bass guitar or upright bass.
Steve
Jonathan taught me when I was around middle school age and has left a lasting impression on how I approach the bass and music 10-ish years later. Under his tutelage I learned music theory, techniques, and all sorts of different genres and styles.

His lessons were always very professional. I always felt challenged, but not overwhelmed, by the material being taught. He also made it easy to be interested in the lessons; he would always ask if there's any song or genre that I wanted to learn and that sort of thing.

Overall, definitely a 5/5 top shelf educator and musician.

I've been teaching ukulele for 15 years. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to strum accompaniments to simple songs. As time goes on you'll be able to play more advanced chords and combine melody with the chords to do solo arrangments. For Children, I typically use The Hal Leonard book "Ukulele for Kids". It's a great book for getting the student up and running very quickly. For Adults the Hal Leonard Ukulele Method book 1 and 2. For someone who has played before The National Guitar Workshop has a uke book that works well for a little more advanced students. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

"Teresa is amazing! My daughter was taking piano lessons somewhere else but the teachers didn’t know how to work with kids. We have found Teresa with a friend’s referal and finding her was one of the best things that happened to us. She is very encouraging and knows how to work with kids and to make everything fun for them. My daughter is learning Ukulele and Piano together and I am very happy with her improvment.

"My sister bought 5 months of ukulele lessons for my 7-old-daughter as a gift and it has been a wonderful experience! At first, I was a little unsure of how online lessons would work out, especially for a 7-year-old, but Glenn kept my daughter engaged and fielded all technical challenges with grace and skill. He introduced things clearly and systematically, but I was most impressed with his sensitivity to appeal to my daughter's particular interests. Rather than giving her canned kiddy beginner pieces to start with (which certainly would have been easier for him), he asked what songs she liked and then transposed them himself to her level. That takes effort and dedication and really sets Glenn apart. Furthermore, Glenn met Jackie's brother one day and learned that he plays guitar and asked if they wanted something to play together. He evaluated my son's level and again, transposed a wonderful little arrangement for them to play together. It was wonderful that they had such an opportunity and everyone in the family loved getting to hear their duet. Glenn has truly succeeded in establishing a genuine interest in this instrument for my daughter, and I am grateful and touched by the way he tailored a program just for her. She has enjoyed the lessons very much and says she wants to go to California and meet Glenn face-to-face one day."

"I've tried using on line videos and ukulele lesson books to learn to play the ukulele. But I couldn't seem to get past a certain level. I signed up for lessons with Athena and I understand a LOT more about the composition, and how to bring it all together in my playing. She's great at understanding my "why" questions, and is very patient as I learn each new thing. At the end of our lesson she gives me a practice plan so I know what to work on for the week to improve. It's made a big difference. I appreciate how quickly Athena understands what's confusing me about something new, and how quickly she explains it in a logical, clear way. I'm enjoying my lessons, and Athena has been encouraging at each step of the way. If you want to learn a new instrument, or improve your skill, Athena is a great instructor to work with!"

One Easy Trick to Convert Guitar Chords to Ukulele Chords | TakeLessons

Are you trying to learn a song on ukulele but can only find guitar chords? I’ve played guitar all my life and have a collection of Gibson and Epiphone Les Pauls. For my birthday a few years ago, my girlfriend bought me an electric Les Paul-style ukulele. I’d never played a uke before -- ever. I had to go online to even find out how to tune the thing! Undaunted, I discovered the standard tuning is from the top string G – C – E – A. The G string is thinner than the C string, sort …
