Guitar Lessons in Downtown Los Angeles. Amazing Teachers.

Hey everyone! I spend most of my time touring the world with A list pop artists as guitarist/multi-instrumentalist, but in my spare time I love passing along the gift of music via teaching. I've been playing guitar for half my life, and in addition to guitar I can also teach beginner bass, piano, drums and music production. I've taught all different kinds of students, ranging in age and ability. I tailor my lessons specifically for each students needs, and to match their personalities and interests. Wanna learn how to play a Taylor Swift song? Sick! Wanna learn a blues chord progression? Awesome! Wanna learn how to shred like a Norwegian death metal god? I got you!

Teaching – Extensive background in teaching private guitar lessons as well some group lessons. Instruments taught include acoustic guitar, nylon spanish guitar and electric guitar. I have taught students from the age of eight to over sixty. Styles taught include rock, blues, jazz, latin, metal, funk, and classical.

With each one of my students, I take into account how much time they are willing to practice, what genres interest them, and what learning style works best (for example, I've found that music theory makes things click faster for some people and saps all the enjoyment out of learning an instrument for others). I then come up with a structured lesson plan that is specifically catered to their needs.

Joel is an accomplished performer, composer, songwriter, and educator who draws from several pedagogical techniques to create a curriculum that is fun, active, inquiry-based, and student-driven. He is a professionally licensed K-12 music teacher in the state of Colorado with a master's degree in music education who has taught in public schools and privately for 5 years. Work collaboratively to set goals, pick repertoire, and build a strong musical foundation. Come prepared to sing, improvise, analyze, and play.

During lessons, students will learn every aspect of guitar, from performance to maintenance. Beginners will learn how to tune, string your guitar, reading guitar notation and tablatures, play popular songs as well as use an instructional book. Students may use acoustic or electric guitar.

I have been teaching guitar full time from very young age its been about 12 years. and I have been helping many individuals to achieve their musical goals. I would encourage my students to learn essential elements of music properly and build the proper foundation from the start. building the good foundation doesn't mean to be boring it can be really fun at the same time. when you understand and be able to see the use of it in the process.
