I am both patient and enthusiastic as a teacher. I love music, and enjoy the opportunity to share my love of the piano with my students. Once I have determined the student's level, I find music that will help them progress towards a higher level.
I studied Musicology and Piano Performance at the Shandong Normal University School of Music, where I graduated with my BA in 2005. I taught music and established a band at a property management institute while a student there, and established my own practice after I graduated. I came to the United

I start from scratch with every student, and create a plan based on their goals, experience, and preferred music styles. No two students have the same lesson.
Additionally, because the jazz school I attended gave students very strong instruction in harmony and ear-training, I teach students not just how to read notes, but to understand what they're playing so they can be more creative and versatile. Moreover, I encourage students to feel comfortable making mistakes in a safe environment so they can step outside of their comfort zone.
I've been involved with music for nearly my whole life. I started out with Suzuki violin lessons and then switched to the piano when I was in the 2nd grade and have been performing, studying, composing, and teaching ever since. I graduated from Yale with a Bachelor's in History and afterward e

There aren't too many schools for rapping that I know of. I learned the way most people learn: on the streets of the city they live in. I've listened heavily to records across Hip-Hop history and I practice MCing regularly as part of my work as a song improviser. I combine techniques from Classical Poetry to modern vocabulary to raise the ceiling on what is possible for an MC.
Things you can expect in rap lessons from me...
-Freestyle: we'll build your confidence and toolset for off-the-top rhyming
-Verse-writing: I'll examine your verses and teach you to refine the writing and delivery to help you reach your audience
-Music Theory: most rappers don't even consider this, but I emphasize understanding music and knowing how to improve your technique and writing through deep understanding of poetry and music theory
-Career Advice: I make sure you get the most bang for your buck when you study rap with me
I studied music therapy and music theory at Temple University from '06-'10. Learned a lot. Then again, I learned even more teaching at a school for kids with learning disabilities and working as a traveling street performer. Once you see the world and work with some unexpected challenges, you learn

I have known Stephanie Quinn for over 14 years, during which she has been my piano teacher, mentor, and friend. Her accomplishments as a professional musician--on piano and violin--are numerous and impressive in and of themselves. What distinguishes Stephanie, however, from other performers / teachers is her unique combination of competence, passion, and disciplined approach to teaching. Her studio, which includes students of all ages and levels, is unmistakable proof of that. I am extremely grateful to Stephanie for starting me on a path towards love of music, and for helping me develop the ability to share it with others."
The instructor is very good and patient with Remi, she makes sure she gets through him in her own special way.
