I'm Ahmad a very enthusiastic musician. I started out teaching myself guitar at the age of 12. I moved to the U.S. in 2001 and studied music for 15 years receiving my B.M. and M.M in music and audio production at San Francisco State University. I then moved to Los Angeles then studied and trained with John Mayer, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, George Lynch and many others. I have performed hundreds of concerts in the U.S. as well in Europe and the Middle East with Artists such as Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Michael Angelo Batio, Ratt, Sammy Hagar, Dokken and many others. I ranked #1 in the Slash Guitar Center competition. I was in the "list of top 5 guitar players ever" according to The Examiner, also picked as one of the best guitarists of 2013 and 2014 consecutively in the Rockwell UnScene magazine, and ranked 3rd in the Steve Vai Sam Ash Best in Shred competition.

Recently, I joined an 18 piece jazz band as their guitarist before realizing I was in way over my head. The speed and complexity of the chord changes were bit too much for me even though I have been playing at home for some 40 years and now I'm in my 50s. Freaking out and not wanting to be a quitter, I decided to ask for the best jazz guitar instructor in Seattle so that I could learn whatever I could in two months (our first gig.) I was told that Ahmad would be a great match for me. I sent him an email and received a response the same evening with the days and times that he could fit me into his schedule. What a relief, I thought, and began to relax.

Sitting down with Ahmad, I realized how much I didn't know about music theory and the guitar fret board and decided to begin lessons twice per week. It's been just over a month now I cannot believe how much sense music theory and the guitar fret board makes to me right now. Ahmad has really laid it out a good foundation so that I can see how everything fits together like never before. Ahmad not only understands jazz guitar, but he also knows how to teach according to the way a person learns. Recently, the stress of playing with a big jazz band has gone away.

After talking with several other students of Ahmad who were waiting for their lessons to begin, I learned that he was a really great instructor for all sorts of guitar lessons. And everyone seemed very pleased. I've have been to other guitar instructors in the past and I will highly rate Ahmad for jazz guitar, a solid 5 stars.

I took several guitar classes with Ahmad a while back - he is an excellent instructor and very personable. He was more concerned with teaching me how to play the guitar rather than trying to get me to pay for more sessions. I still have his very helpful teaching notes!

In addition to the actual instruction, he also had great advice on what to or not to buy - I am an expert at the violin (this is not like an Asian thing but I had insisted to learn it) but was a complete novice with the guitar. It also helps that he is a bonafide musician in an actual band - I attended one of his concerts, which was very enjoyable, but had to leave before I could talk to him.

Ahmad is an amazing teacher. My daughter took guitar from him for over a year and she progressed quickly both in skill level with guitar, but also in confidence and social skills. My daughter has some issues relating to other people, including some speech issues, and I was upfront with Ahmad about this before signing her up. He was amazing the whole way. Always positive and always a great communicator both in person and via email.

Many people want to be able to play their musical instrument by ear training. An important part of ear training is learning the intervals (musical distance) between notes you hear. This is something that got touched on when I was a music major in school & college. I taught myself intervals related to common songs I've heard. By applying this knowledge to the guitar, my fingers will automatically go to the right notes I am "hearing in my head" without really thinking about it...it bypasses my intellect. This can really help decide which position to play a certain musical phrase on a guitar, for example.

On an intermediate level, I can train your ear to tell the difference between major chords, minor chords & more complex chords. I can show you how to find the first note or chord of a song. Then you can learn how to tell what the next chords are in a song, based on its relationship with the first chord.
Also whether your instrument is in tune with other instruments or ...

I love teaching piano. In my eight years of experience, I've learned several piano methods, and I've developed my own approach which balances playing, listening, and analyzing music. My students have told me they appreciate me for my clear, simple way of explaining things, my enthusiasm, and the personal attention I give to each student. My primary goal is to train well-rounded musicians, and offer the benefits that entails, such as discipline, critical-thinking, and creativity.

George, was very patient, kind, and seem very knowledgeable. He seems to understand the pedagogy of teaching to kids and realize they all learn differently. I personally think he went above and beyond for my Son first class and for our first introduction. He offered a more modern approach method of teaching music and Piano to my son who so far seem more receptive in learning and practicing. Will se where that take us but I am very please so far.

"I've been taking lessons with Rick Rossi for a few years now, both through Skype and face to face. He is a true professional, extremely knowledgable, and cares deeply about his students and teaching.
He has a unique approach to learning improvisation which is as appropriate for veteran players as it is for complete beginners, and he has been a tremendous help for me in terms of technique and improving my sound.
In an era where a lot of great players can't teach, where so many teachers take a dogmatic, cookie-cutter approach, Rick Rossi's student-centered style stands out. He is serious about your learning, he doesn't try to sugarcoat or shortcut anything and gives more if you're willing to, like giving you honest progress feedback on recordings you send him, and working on particular solos and stylistic issues (bop, blues, rock, smooth jazz, pop, etc) that are individually useful and relevant to your level and goals. I'm really grateful to have found a teacher like Rick Rossi in LA."

"Milton is hands down AMAZING! :)

I've been with Milton for about almost a year already and he is just amazing! In the beginning I was very nervous to take singing lessons but Milton came in with a positive attitude. Milton is very friendly, funny, professional and always enthusiastic when asking questions about music. I use to be very shy, "never want to sing in front of people" type of girl, but ever since I started lessons with him, I sing all the time in front of people, starting to perform on stage, built A LOT of confidence, and found what type of musician I am. All the things he teaches me is VERY USEFUL, I apply everything we learn to my music and it has made a huge difference. I've come to learn that the tiniest things count! I highly recommend him and you'll have the best time!"

What's the Fastest Way to Learn Piano? You Might Be Surprised!

Memorizing, beginning with scales, starting with songs, recognizing notes – there are many ways of learning to play the piano, and good teachers will tweak their methods to accommodate each student’s abilities and desires. While each method has their own merit, still some people have this question: what is the fastest way to learn piano? Is there one? They may be more eager about the destination and less concerned about the journey, but the journey is very important. But there is one techniq …
