Hi! First, I will ask for your experience not only with piano but with music. We will work on posture, playing technique and reading. Because of my tutelage, my default material for beginners is Suzuki Book 1 which you can either purchase yourself or I can bring one for you. If you have other music material that you would like to work on, I am happy to use that instead. Then I will assign you homework which you will need to practice on your own in preparation for then next lesson.

About Charlotte

Hi! I graduated from USF with a degree in Biology and Neuroscience. I began studying piano when I was 4 through the Suzuki method and started teaching when I moved to San Francisco to start school. I am dedicated to the Suzuki method and believe in it. When I take on a student, I want them to accom

Music has been my passion since I was 10 years old. I didn't have any real instruments at first, so, I built my own out of coffee cans, ice cream containers and of course: a rubber band shoebox guitar! It might sound funny, but, I believe these early days of trying to create music using my "homemade symphony," forced me to really get to the core of sound and expression without the pre-set curriculum of traditional music study. Early on, I learned a few fundamental concepts of music theory that would forever change how I learned, as well as how I taught music to others. I believe these concepts set a foundation that allowed me to understand music and grow much faster - including learning multiple instruments.

And yes, I eventually acquired a real guitar and went on to study music and computers at the University of California and I currently compose music for TV and film in my own studio. I have taught guitar, bass, piano, drums, theory, composition and recording production to ...

About Peter

I currently compose music for TV, film and other digital media in my own recording studio. Prior to that, I spent about 25 years playing guitar, piano, bass and drums in bands and as a studio musician. At school I studied classical music (theory and composition) as well as orchestration and compute

Every student is unique, so I will tailor the lessons to you and make it fun! I'm passing on to you the training I received from the very best master teachers of the violin. Stringed instruments are challenging, but I believe in enjoying making music at every level, while establishing a strong foundation in good technique. For learning fundamentals of music theory and ear training, we will play various rhythm and improvisational games. I have extensive background in European classical music, and I've also done quite a bit of improvisation, some fiddling, and electric violin and viola. Whether you want to be the next Joshua Bell or the next Lindsey Stirling, I can help you improve your playing. I will help you sing, dance and tell a story through your violin or viola.

About Gloria

Born into a musical family in 1966, I have extensive performance experience as a classical violinist and violist, and I've been composing my own music since 2000. I am very grateful to have studied with some of the finest teachers of violin, viola and chamber music, and I graduated in 1990 from th

Gloria has been a wonderful and inspiring teacher over a period of very formative years for me as a violinist. We first worked together for all 4 years of my undergraduate violin performance degree at Mills College from 2010-14, and Gloria helped me develop a lasting appreciation for listening deeply and developing focus for small details. We worked together on everything from solo Bach and Hindemith sonatas to concertos, chamber music, and orchestral excerpts. She has been a lasting influence in my life as a musician, and I will continue to return for musical and creative advice over the years even when I live far away.

One of my students, with my help, achieved a $10,000 yearly recurring scholarship to the full time undergrad program at Berklee College of Music!

I have been through many audition processes as a musician. I received a scholarship to Berklee college of Music, was placed in high level ensembles at Berklee and in various other programs, gotten into loca/state music programs, and mentored former students to get into the program of their choice.

There is no need to stress and worry about getting into the program of your dreams. With my help, you will be able to effortlessly wow any juror you are put in front of. Hope to see you on my roster soon!

Umanand was not my first tutor, but he was the first to teach me. He taught me to enjoy guitar and how to make music of my own. He knows a lot about how music works and taught me good habits, like reading sheet music instead of tabs and proper guitar posture. He built up my knowledge of the basics and encouraged me to do what felt right within them. Since he taught me, I've learned a few rock songs, but I enjoy my own music much more.

"After learning the piano as a child I decided to take up lessons again and started working with Fawn about 16 months ago. What can I say… She’s fantastic! Fawn is a highly accomplished, talented pianist and an excellent teacher who is passionate about her instrument. She has exceptional musical knowledge and uses effective, intuitive teaching methods. Over the last 16 months I have focused on theory, technique and sound production and I’m now playing things I wouldn’t have dreamed of playing a year ago which is testament to Fawn's expertise, professionalism and patience. Lessons are well structured, fun and punctuated with the right level of humor making them thoroughly enjoyable.
Fawn is always willing to go that extra mile for her students and gave me some hugely helpful advice when buying a new piano (even coming to the shop with me and calling in some discount favors). It’s paid off as I’m now the proud owner of an absolutely lovely instrument. Fawn is a true professional who I can’t recommend highly enough."

"great teacher

Rebecca gave my children piano lessons for several years, bi-monthly. She was very good about working with my limited budget (my wife is anti music). They really enjoyed their lessons and progressed nicely until my wife put an end to it and let her go.

In addition, Rebecca helped me with my more advanced music when she could and I appreciated this, too.

One slight criticism is that she was a little too nice, my son sometimes got out of hand during lessons.

Good luck Rebecca!"
