My son is quite shy and anxious about performing below what he develops as an expectation for himself - in everything, from sports to school work to music. Nicole's combination of professional excellence, efficiency and warmth made him immediately feel comfortable and open to constructive feedback . Nicole's teaching style is excellent. He is improving noticeably with every lesson.

I worked with Michelle for a little over 2 years. As an adult student, I was super nervous about singing in front of anyone - it took me this long to just sign up for lessons! She was patient with me and gave me lots of tools for dealing with my nerves and stage fright. Michelle helped me to choose songs that I not only wanted to sing but that matched my voice and range. I was hesitant about performing in a recital but Michelle pointed out that it was like training for a marathon - doing all the work but not performing just seemed silly. It wasn't perfect but it was definitely something I'm proud to have crossed off my bucket list.

I will teach you the fundamental basics as well as some tricks I learned from various artists I've played with. We will be using the Jamey Abersold books, Bob Mintzer books, and some of the tunes in the fake books. Also we will work on scales. I will also teach you how to write and compose your own music using my background music I send you.

About Frixos

Frixos states that his love for music probably started before he was born. “I’m pretty sure the Motown sounds my mother loved to listen and move to permeated to me through her.” Add to that his exposure to different ethnic sounds like Greek (his origins) folklore and contemporary music, Portuguese

Frixos was a terrific teacher for my son (now 12) and my daughter (now 14). He worked with them once per week for about two years, when my son finished 5th grade and my daugher was finishing 6th grade. He helped my son get started and learn the alto sax from scratch, and helped get my daugher on track, and correct her many mistakes. In short, both my kids made the top band in middle school at the end of their 6th grade years. My daugher was the top alto sax in her middle school by middle of 7th grade, and my son by the end of 6th grade. The both had a blast with their instruments, and the worked with them on the scales, and playing various genres of music including jazz. Their understanding of music was far beyond most of their classes, and they enjoyed their class time with him, and got to know a person that spend their entire life and professional career in the music business. In addition to Alto Sax lessons, he worked with the kids to learn music studio tools and play keyboard. After two years, we had to stop the lessons, due to financial constraints, but Frixos was like family to us, and I would highly recommond him to anyone without hesitation. He's a great guy!

"Can't say enough good stuff about Miss Fawn. I wouldn't have made top 10 on American Idol without her guidance. Brilliant vocal coach. Hit songwriter. Piano perfection. With her at the helm, trust me, you will grow! You will become not good, not great, but spectacular! What else could you ask for? She's got the AGT, The Voice and Idol hook up! Not only is Fawn a talent in her own right and a true professional, she helps other further their own musical careers by putting you in front of the right people. I enjoy my lessons with her and I am also a big fan!"

"I first met Alex a long time ago when we were attending McNally Smith College of Music. Right off the bat, Alex impressed me with his ability to sightread and his dedication to his instrument. What started as a friendship quickly developed into a study partnership and then a learning opportunity that was of great benefit to me as a guitarist.

Alex spearheaded the forming of a Sight Reading Club and he was it's head instructor. Every week we would get together and work on our chops; very quickly I could see how valuable he was as a teacher and guitar coach. He helped me stick it out during the tough sessions and had the drive to sit patiently as I worked something out in my own time.

I would highly recommend Alex for his patience, persistence, punctuality, and (most importantly) Passion for teaching music. He is a fantastic instructor who I enthusiastically recommend to anyone looking to improve their ability to play the guitar!

Oh and BTW, he's a great blues player - just check out his videos!!!"

8-Year-Old Girl is Gnarliest Guitar Shredder Ever

I'm willing to bet that "playing like a girl" will stop being an insult within this little lady's lifetime! At just 8 years old, Lisa-X is able to play rapid fire metal solos that will melt your face off and blow your mind. She's smaller than her guitar, but she sure knows how to make it sound big and mighty. Plus, the sweet grin she gives the camera as she's bending a note around 1:46? Priceless! Child prodigies like Lisa are absolutely amazing, but there's really no wrong age to sta …
