David enjoys teaching students from all different backgrounds and levels of proficiency. Whether you are just starting out or a virtuoso shredder in the making, he is happy to teach you! Over all, he is fairly laid back, as long as you practice. He usually combines work with reading off of the treble clef (what he likens to "eating your vegetables." You may not want to do it, but it will make you a healthier musician!) with learning more popular songs (or songs the student says they would like to learn) through tablature and chord charts, depending on the style of the song.
David is also very pro music theory. He usually incorporates music theory into the curriculum in conjunction with the material already being discussed. He is also very knowledgeable about composition/songwriting, and if the student is interested in learning more about this area, he is happy to share what he knows!
About David
David is a successful singer/songwriter/guitarist out of Fairfax, VA. He has a bachelor's degree in Music with a concentration in composition from Salisbury University, where he also studied jazz and classical guitar . In the 25 years he has been performing (20 of those professionally) and playin

Proper technique transfers to all styles of music. Some of my students sing with their guitar and in bands, some work purely on gospel, some on classical. I tailor lessons to you, to work on your passion and show you how proper technique improves your singer no matter what style you perform.

I have spent 37 years teaching Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade music, using an active program of singing, moving, playing, improvising and performing. I follow the principles of the Orff-Schulwerk process of teaching children, but also draw upon my technical and artistic background as a performer: Voice, Cello, Recorder (all voices), Native American-style Flute, Piano, Guitar and the Bass Viola da gamba (I teach all of these privately, as well, up through adult learners). Skills and repertoire are taught with an Historic and Cultural sensibility, especially drawing tunes and activities from the cultural and personal interest of my students. If your children are home-schooled, I would love to work with them and keep the music curriculum going!
About Anne
I love working with young students, to get them started on the path to becoming Musical People. Whether I'm teaching them to play one specific instrument, helping them develop their singing voices, or leading them through a performance-based curriculum based upon The National Standards of Music Ed

In my studio my students are to play 2 recitals per year. One in December and June. This will give the parents and the student the opportunity to show each other the improvement they have made in 6 months. Every student will improve in different stages so the concerts are always fun and interesting. Everyone participates no matter what level they are presently.

My name is Jerry. I LOVE music and passing my knowledge on to others. I have played many different instruments in many different kinds of bands. It all one major thing in common, it was FUN! If you are not having fun while learning an instrument you won't want to learn. Lessons can be fun AND educational at the same time. I have had many parents tell me I'm one of the best teachers they have ever seen. (A couple of them were public school teachers themselves). I truly want my students to succeed and I will do everything in my power to help them accomplish that!

Heather is first and foremost an amazing teacher!
I came to her as a complete novice at 28 years old. The sound I was producing most people were trying to avoid best they could. My closest would actually just tell me to stop.
After a quick assessment Heather recognized all my problem areas and with a smile pointed out what was positive.
She then proceeded with fun exercises, starting from breathing and on to ear training. She was building me up "block after block" into an educated musician. I could feel myself progress.
She made me hear the difference!
Now not even short 6 months later I am, though still learning, enjoying my music with my friends and family.
Heather is very personable, incredibly perceptive, and her knowledge is very well-rounded. She is somebody that approaches her craft with integrity and is always researching new training material.
Thank you so much!"

I would highly recommend Bill! He is such a great player and teacher! He has helped enormously with my saxophone playing, clarinet playing, and improvising.
Since my saxophone playing is already fairly advanced. In our lessons on saxophone focus heavily on advanced jazz improvisation topics, like standard tunes, and transcription. He is so knowledgeable on these advanced topics but is really great at showing me the basics so that I can learn at my own level and pace.
On clarinet Bill and I work on more classical studies and instrument technique to get my clarinet playing more on track.
Bill is such a patient and motivating teacher. It is clear that he cares deeply about MY SUCCESS in music. He has helped me feel good about my musical progress and inspired me to work harder!
He has even given me lots of great music business advice, and helped me think about what I want out of music in my life.
Bill is so easy to get along with and is really careful to explain things in a way that I can understand them.
Its been really awesome getting to know and work with him!"

He has taught my son not only how to play with well with other musicians, but also how to find his “voice” within a band both in the rhythmic and solo sections of the songs.
He was accommodating when we had to reschedule a class due to personal reasons, and is always willing to make the class a little bit longer if necessary to finish what they were practicing.
When the Covid-19 pandemic forced us to have the lessons remotely, he started to use ZOOM and, while things remotely cannot be the same, he did a great job at making sure that they stayed as close to true form as possible."
