Hello my name is Verena!

I am a German native speaker and currently teaching German at a Language Center in Orlando. I believe in the method of "Learning by doing" which means that I engage my students to actively use the new language, learn in a natural way using real life objects and creating real life situation.

I have a post graduate degree from a German University and worked for several years as a teacher in educational science and was additionally responsible for the supervision of Bachelor and Master Theses in German language.

On these grounds, I am ideally educated to help you with your verbal and written skills in German language. If you just want to be able to have social talks, ask for direction, order food, or if you are interested in intensive language skills - I am here to help you!

Completely bilingual German/English speaker with 20+ years experience teaching and tutoring German to students from different cultural backgrounds. The goal is for students to be able to actively use the language and not be afraid to experiment. The focus is on meaningful conversation and reading authentic texts. Classes are creative, fun and held to 95% in the target language.

I have experience with languages and grammar, and I know that everyone learn in a different way, for some people is easier than for others. My challenge is to find what is easier for you.

My name is Barbara, I was born and raised in Germany and worked for 15 years as a Training and Quality Executive in the hotel industry, one of the companies being The Ritz-Carlton, one of the best training companies in the world. I was in charge of all in-house training sessions, spent up to 20 hours per week in a classroom environment and was chosen as a Property Opening Trainer for The Ritz-Carlton, Berlin. I transferred with The Ritz-Carlton to Miami in 2005. I enjoyed working as an Executive at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach until 2009, when I got married and had my daughter.

I decided to fully homeschool my nine-year old daughter for two years, who, as a result, is fluent in German in both speaking and writing. We moved to NYC in 2013 and I was approved by and followed the official NYC Department of Education guidelines for homeschooling.
