As a person I am laid-back, I take the same attitude toward teaching, however I am strict when it comes to getting work done & getting it done well. For piano I use the Alfred series. After 3-6 months I would want my student to have learned the basics of rhythm & note identification. Fo
r singers breathing technique as well.

Great Voice Instructor!

I have been taking lessons with Susanna for close to 6 months and she has been a great teacher. I feel a lot more confident in my singing ability and I look forward to each lesson. I learn something new everytime. I am completely new to singing and she makes sure that you are comfortable in the environment and caters to your needs and what you would like to work on.

About Brandon
Brandon has been surrounded by music since a young age, having both parents as musicians. Brandon began his musical carrier playing the trumpet eventually branching out to piano, a little violin, composing, and conducting. He attended the University of Central Florida where he received a BA and MA in composition and conducting respectively.

While in Orlando, Brandon worked as a part of the A Gift for Music program teaching beginning violin to inner-city elementary school children. He was also the conductor of the A Gift for Music Core Orchestra, a group of very talented young string students. Brandon was also the Brass Instructor for a local Jr./Sr. High School where he taught trumpet lessons, coached brass ensembles, and accompanied students on the piano. On top of this Brandon also had a small studio in the area.

Currently Bran
don is a graduate student at the University of Texas in Austin where he is studying composition.

As a teacher I find the most important thing is to make sure the student has fun making music. I realize that everyone is different and I try to cater to the needs of the individual while still making sure that there is advancement in technique and musicianship. It is also a goal of mine to make sure that every students learns to practice without having someone ask them to do it.

I believe it is important to have a strong foundation when playing music. If that foundation is there it is easier to have fun making music and far less likely for a student to fail. For beginners I generally start with basic technique and gradually shift into playing pieces. If a student has been playing for a while, I will find out where they are in their musical journey and take it from there. I also try to focus on developing musicianship and individuality. I can not stress how important it is to not only have fun but to practice. It takes a great deal of dedication and effort to become a good musician.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide some music and small things like the occasional rosin or valve oil. I can also help students find rental venues for instruments. I would expect the students to have their own instrument/s and material to properly take care of the instrument. I would also expect them to keep the music we are currently working on with them.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in classical music though I can teach popular music and basic improvisation. I try to focus on expression and technique with students.

Brandon has been teaching my son for the past 3 years and has been a fantastic instructor in both trumpet and piano. He is very patient, encouraging and understanding with my son. Brandon is diligent and requests the best performance from the kids without being pushy or overbearing. His knowledge of trumpet and piano are exceptional and his demonstrations are impressive. He is always punctual and super nice. I would recommend Brandon as music teacher for any student.

Brandon is by far the best piano teacher I've ever had in my 7-ish years of instruction. He truly cares about your advancement as a student, and goes above and beyond to ensure that you are learning AND having fun. Just within my first lesson with Brandon, he helped me to identify quite a few bad playing habits I had no idea I had developed over the years. He's astoundingly observant and perceptive, and is helping me to improve my posture, my reading skills, etc. Habbits are difficult to break, and I really appreciate his patience and constructive criticism, and that he challenges me to take difficult yet important steps to improve. In the past, I would learn one piece each week with an instructor, then move on without taking the time to perfect it. Brandon will take the time to show you how to TRULY master a piece, even if it takes 5 lessons. I cannot convey how valuable such an experience has been to my own progression. He's also very fun to talk to and makes you feel comfortable and at ease. BEST PIANO TEACHER EVER - HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR ALL AGES

About David
My name is David and I'm a professional musician who just moved to North Austin. I came from Cincinnati, where I went to the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, taught dozens of students at all levels and played regular gigs every weekend. I have been teaching for over fifteen years, and I'm looking to get a few new students.
I teach guitar, piano, bass guitar and even upright bass. If it's a tutor you are looking for I can also teach music theory and appreciation. I have a knack for teaching young people, probably because I was young when I started my musical journey. I've been very successful at inspiring a student's love of music and instilling the patience required to take on the challenge of playing an instrument.
The first thing I like to do is get to know you, the music you enjoy and your goals. In a way, I l
ike to begin by letting the student lead.
In addition to learning from you, I intend to present you with new information, to try and broaden your musical tastes and teach you how to be an active listener.

Victoria was a good choice to get my child off the ground in her piano instruction. She helped give my daughter confidence (which is saying something, as my daughter is a perfectionist and therefore very insecure) through her friendly, patient approach. Though I had higher expectations with regards to disciplines like posture, proficiency development through things like scales/arpeggios/drills, or development of sight reading, as I had in my own musical upbringing (though I practiced under one of the top violin instructors in Seattle) I'm nonetheless grateful to have started the first few years of beginner lessons to give my child sheer enjoyment of music performance, as Victoria clearly has a love for music herself. I'm also very grateful that she was willing to drive all over Austin to meet in homes, as that was invaluable for my schedule. Thanks a lot, Victoria!

My name is Leo. I've been a musician for 28 years and teaching for 14 years and I still continue to pursue all things concerning music with the same passion, perseverance, and love I had at the beginning of my music career.

I received my formal training at Texas State University where I studied Classical guitar and Music Education while also playing in Hard Rock bands in San Antonio. While still in college, I started teaching music privately to help pay for my education. I soon found myself with a successful business and decided to focus on it full time.

My goal is to produce quality music lessons available to anyone who's ever desired to learn the guitar, piano, music production, music theory, Pro Tools, songwriting & arranging, composing for film & video games, and all other important music skills in the comfort of their home.

I started playing piano at the age of four and haven't been able to stop playing music since! Originally classically trained, I went on to play professionally and studied jazz performance at the University of Utah. I've played in bands of many styles including pop, rock, jazz and country, and have opened for well-known known acts such Chris Young. I've also performed solo for many years in high end hotels and restaurants.

My strength as a teacher is being able to discover my students' unique musical strengths and guiding them reach their individual musical goals. Many of my students of all ages have achieved musical skill beyond what they had originally hoped, performing in bands and writing music of their own. Whether your goals are learning how to improvise, sight read, or play rock and blues, I'll make sure that you're playing
the music that inspires you and motivates you learn quickly.
