Great Voice Instructor!

I have been taking lessons with Susanna for close to 6 months and she has been a great teacher. I feel a lot more confident in my singing ability and I look forward to each lesson. I learn something new everytime. I am completely new to singing and she makes sure that you are comfortable in the environment and caters to your needs and what you would like to work on.

I have been teaching for years with all ages of students. Piano lessons will include learning to read notes, ear training, theory and technique, creating your own music and learning to play the piano with others. The curriculum varies with individual needs. My philosophy is a little laid back but firm in keeping to the basics of music theory.

I can't wait to help you learn to play the piano!

About David
My name is David and I'm a professional musician who just moved to North Austin. I came from Cincinnati, where I went to the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, taught dozens of students at all levels and played regular gigs every weekend. I have been teaching for over fifteen years, and I'm looking to get a few new students.
I teach guitar, piano, bass guitar and even upright bass. If it's a tutor you are looking for I can also teach music theory and appreciation. I have a knack for teaching young people, probably because I was young when I started my musical journey. I've been very successful at inspiring a student's love of music and instilling the patience required to take on the challenge of playing an instrument.
The first thing I like to do is get to know you, the music you enjoy and your goals. In a way, I l
ike to begin by letting the student lead.
In addition to learning from you, I intend to present you with new information, to try and broaden your musical tastes and teach you how to be an active listener.

I've been working with Trevor for just over a year. His teaching goes beyond just dry technique and theory to answer the question "why am I doing this?" When you work with Trevor, there is purpose behind everything you do. He starts with your big picture goals and breaks them down into actionable steps that you can take feeling like it's going somewhere. This makes for way more efficient and exciting practice sessions. If you don't know exactly where you want to go with your playing, Trevor will help you find that as well.

Trevor is an amazing teacher! He works with you to make a plan to learn whatever interests you. I can bring in any kind of music or style of playing and he will help me learn all of the elements. He is happy to go as far into theory as you want or stay more high level. Also has been very helpful in transitioning from learning tunes to writing and recording my own songs. Highly recommend.

Trevor and I worked for about 3 months preparing for my audition that would decide if I was accepted into Berklee College of Music. He was very helpful and made sure I was well prepared for my audition. I continued to take guitar lessons with Trevor after my audition to prepare for music school. He is very helpful and I have learned so much from taking lessons with him.

I am a professional pianist, with an active performance schedule in Canada and the United States. Some of my recent highlights include a performance of my own piano concerto with a chamber orchestra in Cleveland, a solo recital at Texas State University's "Rising Star" series, and a 5-day series of interviews and performances on "Performance Today" with the Minnesota Public Radio.

I have enjoyed teaching since the age of 16, and offer a complete toolkit for students at any level; from beginner to professional. My focus is geared towards building and maintaining a solid technical foundation, sight-reading skills, and learning a diverse repertoire of music that you will enjoy playing for many years.

It is important to prepare for the stage psychologically, and if you are interested in making music in front of a live audience, I also offer
practical advice to build confidence and make the experience more enjoyable.

I finished my bachelors of music at the Oberlin Conservatory, my masters at the Juilliard School, an Artist diploma and the Cleveland Institute of Music, and am currently pursuing my Doctoral Studies at the Butler School of Music at UT Austin.

About Jacob
I first started playing drums on pots and pans when I was a wee lad. My parents thankfully fostered my musical inhibitions and purchased an electronic pad at the of 9. I have been playing ever since with a variety of bands performing professionally across the Texas music scene. Although mainly self-taught, I did study with the highly acclaimed Wayne Salzmann for a little under a year. In addition to drum kit, I am a classically trained trombone player who studied under professor Charles Hurt at Texas State. I aim to bring my performance experience and classical music education to all my students, in a way that’s easy to digest and most of all, fun!

I can teach a variety of styles including rock, pop, funk, jazz, blues and metal. The progression is focused on fundamentals, technique and theory to ensure that you can apply these concepts
to whatever style of music you'd like to play throughout your music journey. I also do volunteer work teaching piano and drum kit lessons with Kids in a New Groove here in Austin.

If you'd like to hear more of the music I have been involved with, feel free to message me.
