Piano from Abilene Christian Universary
As one of my students you will be encouraged to learn some songs by ear and be creative by making up their own pieces. You will definitely need to learn to read notes, as well.
Each lesson will have you playing what you practiced during the week. And each lesson will also have you learn something to take home to perfect.
But most of all, I would hope you would leave with a sense of well-being, confidence and encouragement in the wonderful experience of making music on the piano.
I love for my students to perform as much as possible. We play in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and recitals. If a student comes up with a performance venue, we will certainly try to do it.
I have been teaching for years with all ages of students. Piano lessons will include learning to read notes, ear training, theory and technique, creating your own music and learning to play the piano with others. The curriculum varies with individual needs. My philosophy is a little laid back but

I teach by sharing my passion of music using my skills as a teacher and a musician in a nurturing environment for students of any age. I enjoy teaching all levels of musicians. I do not believe there is one set way to teach every student. Rather, I will tailor the lesson to each student's particular needs & learning style.
I have been teaching piano & voice lessons for 20+ years, since 1992, and have taught students of all ages, from 5 year olds to adults, and in the college/university environment as well. I completed a B.A. in Liberal Arts with a concentration in music and voice at Austin College in Sherman, TX. I

"What's that knob do?" "What happens if I press this button?" Square wave? Pulse wave? FM? ADSR? LFO?...
If you know absolute zero, or maybe a little about synthesis, here's your chance to learn what all those knobs and blinky lights do. Starting with the most basic concepts (waveforms, filters, sound manipulation, etc.), we'll get you up and running on your shiny new toy.
No dull, lab-coated lectures here! We can go as slow, or as fast as you want, with a bit of dry humor sprinkled about.
Since it's easier to get where you're going if you know where you've been, you'll learn just enough history to hopefully inspire you to search further in your quest for synth enlightenment.
Doug has been involved with synthesizers since 1976, his first being a PAiA Gnome kit. Early influences include Tangerine Dream, Todd Rundgren, Brian Eno, David Bowie, and Isao Tomita. Since then, he has steadily worked his way up the synth food chain. He now owns a LOT of analog and digital synths

Awarded Principal Clarinet of Colorado All-State Honor Band from Colorado Bandmaster's Association
Bachelor of Music from University of Denver's Lamont School of Music
I have been teaching for the past 6 years, and love working with all different students. My former students have been selected to be in the Colorado All-State Honor Band and have been accepted to their top choice colleges for music performance. In 2016, I attended the Aspen Summer Music Festival, where I learned a great deal about clarinet and teaching. My specialty is pinpointing bad habits and working towards effortless, high-quality sound and technique.
I am an avid clarinetist, energetic performer and enthusiastic teacher. My dream career is to be a soloist like Martin Frost, to play in an orchestra, or compose and perform my music. My passion for teaching is similar to my passion for performing, and I have experience teaching privately since 20

I am pleased to have the opportunity to write a review for Marie-France. Marie-France has been a positive influence in our daughter's passion to pursue singing. Through Marie-France, our daughter has gained much confidence and has found her "voice". Marie-France is a fantastic teacher! We find her to be reliable, an inspiration to our daughter and encouraging as a teacher."
She has a very positive attitude towards my son and always encourages him with good feedback."
For me, there are pros to having both location options available depending on my schedule that morning.
His way of teaching is great. I'm an adult and never played a guitar before. And I feel he has an enormous amount of patients. But he is not afraid to introduce something new. If I tell him I'm not clear with something we learned last time he will repeat it. And go it over with me. Technically he really had me playing songs very soon in the lessons. But I'm not necessarily the fastest learner so the most important thing is my responsibility.
Practice Practice Practice.
I recommend Devin to any one that wants to start learning guitar. Or needs to improve.
As I mentioned before, I'm an adult. But I could only imagine he'd do great with children.
Oh, I just reminded my self one more nice thing about Devin the teacher. When I'm with him, or online with him. For some reason he makes me feel like the lessons he provides are created for me. Not just random lessons. he goes according to my pace."
As a singer, understanding and utilizing dynamics can turn a mediocre performance into a great one. Read on to learn some singing exercises to practice, as shared by Augustine, FL voice teacher Heather L... Dynamics is a word that comes from the Greek word dynamo, meaning "power." In the context of general music, we use it as a term for how loud or soft sounds are. Dynamics can make or break a song. Frankly, in the world of singing, sometimes the lack of or presence of dynamics can mak …
