Have fun learning how to accurately draw from a real draftsperson!

To draw is to be fearless. If you are interested in drawing from life, then I can assist by teaching you the basics or show you how to improve your skill set. I work as a professional artist and have a great deal of knowledge about materials and processes. I enjoy working in ink, pencil (graphite and colored), charcoal, and pastel (oil and soft). I am also into combining media. I have taught for over a decade and my students range in age from children to senior citizens.

About Sandy K.

I believe in the power of art to change lives. I have been working as a professional artist for several decades and I love what I do. My work ranges from murals to intimate portraiture. My resume includes National Endowment for the Arts funded public art projects, solo exhibitions and museum shows. My drawings, paintings and mixed media works are found in both private and corporate collections. I enjoy how the act of art-making improves lives. If a certain subject matter moves you, then we will begin there. I emphasize craftsmanship and solid technique. My work leans towards realism. If you are interested in learning anatomy for artists, still life, landscape and generally working from life, then I would be a good fit. My lessons take place in my studio. I have been teaching for over a decade and enjoy watching my students develop. Some of my best moments have been helping students build successful portfolios for entry into higher education. I look forward to meeting you and seeing your work!

Sandy is a wonderful instructor! She connects with her students on a personal level, listens to their requests, and guides them to achieve superior results. Sandy helps to identify and master skills that need improvement without making the student feel inadequate. My daughter's art skills, both in drawing and painting, have significantly improved, as well as her confidence as an artist. This past year she received several awards for her work and I attribute a good portion of that to the encouragement and training she has received with Sandy.
