Oil Painting

Levels Taught:
Beginner, Intermediate
Oil paints have been most artists' first choice for hundreds of years, with good reason. The colors are gorgeous, you can do anything with them and they last forever. Oil paint is slow drying so you can remove what you don't like while it's wet or you can paint over it when it's dry. Oil paint is easy to use once you learn the basics. I've taught beginners to masters and I've learned that everything builds on just a few basic concepts that I will show you here.

I'll take you step by step to a finished painting.
•First learn about the materials you will need to get started.
•Next learn a little basic information in easy steps.
•Finally use these concepts as you paint the exercises with me on your own canvases.
•You will then have the skills to paint anything you can see or imagine.

Teaching since:
September 1995

As a child of five years old I was brought by my mom to Gulyaev’s Art Studio and this famous Ukrainian artist involved me in the marvelous world of fine art.

In high-school, I participated in a federally-funded program for the Gifted and Talented in Visual Art. After graduation I won a huge competition and was admitted as a student of the Architectural department of the Kiev Architectural Civil University. In 2001, I become a student, hand-selected by the director of extraordinary Master degree program of Visual Communication, offered by Syracuse University (Syracuse, NY). In master classes, we learned from each other and worked with the best illustrators: Murray Tinkelman and Cris Payne, Dave Passalaqua and Sano Kazu (Kazuhini), Bunny (Alice) Carter and Bob d’Sey, I love to learn new skills and keep learning new styles and techniques all the time. This love has inspired my beloved students to do the same.

It was our first class together so part of it was organizing myself. I look forward to more classes with Marina.

I've known Marina for a very long time and while I haven't taken any classes yet, I most definitely would recommend her to anyone who's looking for a good art teacher. She is a very talented artist and has a rare ability to inspire people to be creative. Her students' paintings are awesome and always make me smile looking at them.

Marina Bichinsky is very talented and highly educated artist, illustrator, and instructor, who has shared your skills and talent with her students. In addition to teaching traditionally in the art studio, she has used the new technological tools by teaching fine art online via the SKYPE. The online instructional method is as effective as face-to-face one. Try it! You will love it. Marina's focus will be just on you and it will benefit you enormously as an artist. Bon Voyage!

Marina Bichinsky is an extremely talented art teacher, which could be noticed by those who have seen her students' works. She is also a very friendly, personal individual with great sense of humor. I have no doubt that her skype sessions will be as productive as her classes in the art studio! Good luck to Marina and her new students!

Marina is a great art teacher. I can see by her personality that she will give art suggestions when she sees something wrong NICELY. I think that it will be a great idea to learn from her, especially those who really enjoy it, like Marina herself! I've seen her draw, and once I thought that one of those pictures was taken. Marina has a great talent, and the reason she wants to teach others is to pass her skills on. Lets learn at her studio!
