Magic

I am a full time professional magician who has been working many different kinds of events since 2002. I have performed close up card magic, mentalism, children's parties, University and College events, and everything in between. In order to make a living as a full time pro, I have to have a working knowledge of many (if not all) aspects of magic.  For my students, I want them to not only walk away with good sleight of hand skills but also all the other skills that make a good magician. You will not just learn (for example) a card trick. You will learn a full routine that makes sense, has moments of surprise, comedy, magic, and even deeper feelings (if that's your style). I will work with the student to find their performing style, recommend to them types of magic and teach them routines that fit that style. With me you will also learn stage blocking, acting techniques, voice and speech, and many other things that go into a successful magic performance. 

Or if you want to just learn a silly trick to fool your friends, we can do that too. I'm easy to get along with. Together we will set goals and create a plan to get you there.

In this class we will cover a card force, a shuffle control, and the double lift. With these three fundamentals you can predict what card someone will pick, Find a previously unknown card, make their chosen card appear somewhere else such as in your wallet, and change an card into your spectator's chosen card.

Since graduating from college I have run my own production company. I perform at over 100 events a year. I also occasionally book other entertainers at other events.

I am a full time professional magician with over 30 years of experience and over 15 years working as a full time pro. I will walk you through each and every step making sure that you not only understand how to perform a specific sleight or magic trick but WHY you do the particular moves or scripting when you do. I have a BFA in Theater Arts and use my training to help you understand the performance element of magic. Even if you are only performing for one friend, a well performed trick is better than and poorly performed one.

I had my first session with Edd today, and I am extremely satisfied. Not only is he very personable and engaging but very patient in his explanations. He shared a couple of key sleights of hand in this first session that are foundational for a variety of routines. Just what I was hoping for. I look forward to the next lesson!
