Hello! I'm Sara! (Based in NYC) 

I started dancing at the age of 3. I am well versed in Ballet, Modern and Contemporary Dance. I attended Joffrey San Antonio (2004) and Paul Taylor New York (2010) intensives. Once moving to NYC, I attended the TAKE Dance intensive (2011) and the Lar Lubovitch intensive (2012).

While in high school I taught Ballet, Jazz, Pre-Pointe and Pointe classes to dancers age 3-14.
 
In 2011 I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet Pedagogy (which is the art or science of teaching).

Moving to NYC 11 years ago I have been focused on performing with such dance companies as Exit 12 Dance Company (2011-2012) and Community Dance Project (2013-2014). While not dancing with specific companies I have choreographed and danced in music videos as well. 

I can't express my love for teaching enough! To know that I could help spark the passion for dance is extremely inspiring.

BEFORE PURCHASING LESSONS:

I would prefer to teach students with professional or aerobic goals. Social dancing is not one of my subjects. For partner dances, I would recommend searching for 'Ballroom Dance'.

There is a 15 minute window for late students. After 15 minutes, the lesson will be counted as "missed".

We will begin with the very basics of ballet! Posture and classical positions will be covered, no matter what skill level.

No ballet barre required!

Checklist before class:
- Head to toe camera view
- Hardwood or smooth tile flooring
- Socks or ballet slippers
- Yoga style clothing (nothing too baggy)

Learn Ballet

As adult ballet starter who enjoys learning, I have been looking for a teacher who can touch on the anatomy and physiology of dance, and the history of ballet and techniques to at a higher level. Also, I've had many group classes however, I was always felt like I was struggling to really  solidify basics down - which I feel is important especially for injury prevention. Fast forward, having worked with Sara for several sessions, I  absolutely can vouch for her. Not only is she a solid teacher who gives detailed feedback and able to accommodate your needs to help you be better, she shows her pure passion for dance even at a beginner level which I truly appreciate.  I am excited and looking forward to continuing my ballet journey under her guidance.

She is very professional. My daughter learns a lot from the first lesson.
