Yaminah Legohn is an artistic director, choreographer, professional dancer, teacher, motivational speaker, and performing artist of West African, Dancehall, Hip Hop, Jazz, contemporary and Modern dance styles.
She also specializes in digital marketing and business consultant.

As a choreographer and professional dancer, she has worked with artists such as Shakira, Nick Cannon, Sean Paul, N.E.R.D.,Killa Mike, Nelly Furtado , Lil Wayne, B.o.B., Fizz & Boog, Mack 10, J Holiday, 
Tony Toni Toné and has appeared on film/ and commercials such as 
FAME, MTV's "Non Stop Summer", Disney’s “Phineas & Ferb," 
and “So Random," BET's "The Mo'Nique Show" and 
The Oxygen Channel's "Hair Battle Spectacular 2." 

Her work has been featured in Dance Mogul Magazine, Dance Spirit Magazine, Paper Magazine, appeared dancing at The Apollo with Black Coffee, "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,"choreographing on 
BET's "F In Fabulous."

Yaminah has taught for Alvin Ailey, Columbia University, Brooklyn Museum, EXPG New York, Cumbe Center For African And Diaspora Dance,  Abrons Arts  Center, IDA Hollywood, American College Dance Festival, Lines Ballet San Francisco Dance Center, ODC Dance Commons San Francisco. and Gibney Dance Studios.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Speech Communications and Dance from San Francisco State University.  

Yaminah's mission with digital marketing and business consulting is to 
help grow and advance careers. Students will gain tools in professional development, mentorship, digital marketing, content creation, social media strategy, email marketing, leadership skills, organization and strategy.

Students learn basic fundamentals in hip hop dance as well as enhancing their skills and knowledge in old school and  new school social dances. 

After learning the basic steps, students are taught a choreographed routine.

Yaminah is an exciting, high quality hip-hop dance instructor. I recommend the experience if you are looking for a creative, impactful, patient, and positive instructor. You won't regret it. My daughter is a bit of an introvert and has Down Syndrome. Yaminah not only teaches her beginner lessons; she achieves results. She demonstrates the dance and ensures my daughter not only learns the routine but understands and can recite back the count. When Yaminah asks, she can explain the difference between the dance steps she learns. Yaminah effectively communicates with her without treating her like she has special needs. Her routine contains the same dance moves you or I would learn. I love that she encourages her to let her personality shine through her dance. She is taking recurring lessons. I can see her coming out of her shell more each time she has a lesson. The dance routines are exciting and she is having fun.

Yaminah is super talented and tailors her class to the needs of her dance students! Excellent!

My daughter had her first lesson with Yaminah today and is already looking forward to next week! We had some technical issues on our end and Yaminah was not only patient and super helpful. What can I say about Yaminah. She is easily one of best instructors I have ever had. I have had lots of instructors in different disciplines but accross the board she is the best. I take hip-hop with Yaminah and she is a phenomenal dancer and teacher. I am learning so much and improving so fast thanks to her fun style and professionalism.
