I bring to teaching piano an unrivalled Juilliard education, international performing and recording career, and 18 years of experience teaching students of various levels. In teaching, I see myself as my students' partner dedicated to helping them realize their full potential as budding musicians and performers. I am encouraging, enthusiastic, patient, and flexible in teaching adults and children of intermediate and advanced levels. I love finding the right individual approach with each of my students, so that they stay motivated and inspired while growing in their musical understanding and mastery.

I strongly believe that a chief tool enabling progress in all aspects of musicianship is focused listening, and see my role as a teacher to guide students in developing power and sensitivity of aural perception through concrete steps and activities. I'm deliberate in selecting and assigning a repertoire that challenges students with appropriate techniques and allows them to ...

Gabrielius is infinitely patient, highly skilled as a teacher and pianist, and has the rare ability to correct while encouraging improvement. I have had 4 lessons with him so far, and already am playing far better than I could have imagined.
I recommend Gabrielius highly to anyone interested in learning to play the piano either for personal pleasure or even performance.

Gabrielius is a wonderful piano teacher to our daughter. He is professional, reliable, an amazing musician. We are very happy to have found him on TakeLessons.

Gabrielius teaches calmly with lots of patience, and the results are fantastic. I've seen tremendous improvement just after a few weeks, and I find his way of teaching focuses on the things that will have the most impact on your playing. He's not a teacher that will drill you endlessly, but will find easier and more organic ways to learn and love the pieces you play. I'm excited to continue my lessons, and I'm falling more and more in love with playing, practicing, learning and listening to piano.

It was so fortunate for my son to find Dr. Yoon Lee as a very professional piano teacher. He was almost 12 years old when we found her name online during COVID pandemic. He started playing piano at age 3 and we were looking for next level, the upscale piano teacher. At first my son was a little nervous because of her tremendous career background. but her kind, cheerful and thoughtful approach had captured his heart almost instantaneously. My son loved her professionalism without any forcible advise and he really enjoyed her teaching style. When my son proclaimed he wished to become a pianist in the future, surprisingly she created his next 6 year curriculum. Now he had been practicing piano for more than 4 hours, joyfully and tirelessly everyday. We highly recommend Dr. Yoon Lee for the best piano teacher from beginner to advanced level. Once the students are drawn into Dr. Yoon Lee's pleasant enthusiasm, It is guaranteed that they will be in the right path to their success.

Dr. L. is an amazing teacher. After just a short time I have seen my daughter’s piano technique improve dramatically. Dr. L. is kind, thorough, patient and successfully manages to engage my four year old to make it a fun lesson every time. We would without a doubt recommend Dr. L. to everyone.
Katherine
My 11-year-old son has been studying piano with Dr. Lee for last 3 years. My son started from absolutely no background in music and cannot believe how fast he has improved. Now he is playing Mozart and Beethoven already. She has been so dedicated and supportive. We cannot recommend Dr. Lee highly enough

About Gregory

As a younger brother at the age of five, I began studying the piano because my older sister did. After my foundation in music strengthened I fell in love with the trumpet. At first, each note took time to develop and I enjoyed the challenge. The trumpet allowed me to travel all over the Southeas

I've had just 3 lessons with Gregory and I'm making great strides thanks to his intimate knowledge of the horn. His manner of teaching is so relaxing that it helps no feel so stressed to play. I look forward to my next lesson. He drives you in a direction that works best to the student. Hes a great teacher.

I'm 58yrs old and a comeback player. I haven't played in over 40yrs. Yesterday was my 2nd class with him. And I was amazed at how my playing is already showing progress thanks to Gregory. He puts you at ease almost immediately. He is very patient and through his instruction I've gained more confidence in my playing. Gregory gets 5 stars for his demeanor, trumpet and overall music knowledge. He is the go to instructor in my opinion.

I am an experienced teacher of over 15 years, specializing in the beginner/intermediate piano students preferable ages 7 years upwards.
Not only will you be playing songs in no time, but you will also be taught a strong foundation of sight reading, music theory, technique, and more, and I guarantee that at the end of your class, you will be looking forward to the next class.

I am a tickler for ensuring that the material taught is learnt, and so I may use basic everyday knowledge to apply the principles. I am patient especially when dealing with young children, whose attention span may be short. I balance off the piano experience with the fundamentals of theory, which goes hand in hand with the piano playing experience. My students and their parents know that part of mastering the art of piano playing, is practising on their own at home, hence having a keyboard/piano or access to a keyboard/piano is essential. My classes are very structured.

About Patricia

I have taught piano for about fifteen (15) years at both the beginner and intermediate stages. I completed up to Grade 8 of The Royal School of Music Exams. It gives me great joy when my students are able to apply the theory foundation to the practical. I consider myself a patient teacher and lo

I Eileen Francis, a graduate of Jamaica School of Music, and as a professional piano teacher, all my exams and passes were done in Jamaica and all this was from The Associated Board of The Royal School of Music London.

Patricia started music as a child, and took all her exams right up to Grade 8. She is an excellent musician and also a wonderful teacher. She taught with me for a long time. She now plays for churches, and professionally for functions. She knows how to get small children and adults to understand and read notes and also to write music. I recommend her very highly in this profession.

I have known Mrs. Patricia Masters as a lover of Music whether it be Musical instruments, theatrical presentations, songs of different genres, she loves them all and is involved in creating the atmosphere where music has its input. She is very diligent and creative and excellent at what she does where music is concerned. Music is her life. As a teacher, a choir director and a musician, she makes sure that it is perfect for presentation and that at the end of the day, her student excels. Mrs. Masters is dependable and reliable.

I am an experienced piano and guitar teacher of 13 years available for eager students. While I focus on building a strong foundation of piano and guitar skills, I structure my lessons so students can learn in a very easy way by using the right methods and books. My main focus is to make my students feel good about themselves and feel comfortable all the time and not to be judged at any point during the lesson. This strategy has been working very well all over the years. It also makes students achieve more and be passionate about what they play. I typically use Alfred's Basic books: lesson, technic, and theory books. I also provide my students with homework sheet that explains what we have been focusing on, what they have achieved, and what is the expectations for next lesson. Due to Covid-19, I started my online lessons and it has been working very well. We usually have a recital once a year. Our first virtual recital will be in December.

Hello! I began studying piano when I was 4 through the Suzuki method and started teaching when I moved to San Francisco to start school. I am dedicated to the Suzuki method and believe in it; in case you're unfamiliar with the Suzuki method, it's a way of approaching music that focuses on fundamentals, developing the ear, and learning through emulation rather than solely on reading and theory. As someone who was taught by a more traditional teacher who was a strict adherent to the Suzuki method timeline, I have found myself to be much more flexible teacher who really wants to structure the lessons around the student to maximize an enjoyable relationship with the piano and music. For adults, of course, we start looking at reading pretty much from the beginning whereas for children, we steer clear of reading for a bit. I have a dog and two cats who are super friendly and who love to sit and listen to the piano lessons (I have had a few students who are scared) - just FYI! Looking ...

"Nancy gave my daughter her first piano lesson (when she was 6 years old). My daughter was a bit nervous going in, and Nancy had her smiling and relaxed within minutes. She is a wonderful teacher but more than that is fun and great with kids. Throughout the lesson she has her doing all sorts of different activities - clapping out rhythm, searching for notes on the keyboard, etc. - and I think that makes a really big difference with kids. I really can't believe how much my daughter has learned so far!"

Although I've played pro and semi-pro trumpet for many years, I decided to ramp up my piano skills for music library and film/TV composing. Howard's lessons are like leverage. No, make that industrial strength hydraulics! His teachings (customized drills and studies, sight reading, repertoire, etc.) allow you to exponentially improve not only your piano skills, but also every aspect of your musicianship. "If your child is interested in learning to play piano and read music, I would definitely recommend Linda Bates. I have truly enjoyed watching my daughter grow through her lessons.
She was only 5 1/2 when she asked to start learning piano, and even though I thought she might be too young, I didn’t want to discourage her. Linda said that as long as she could count from 1-10, knew her left from right and the alphabet through “G” she could start learning piano.
We have had stretches of easy sailing and lots of rough patches. It’s been a great set of life lessons for our family.
Linda tried several different approaches to see what would work best for my daughter. She has a great balance of patience, structure and encouragement. She’ll let my daughter chatter on about (non-piano related) stuff for a minute, and then, gently but firmly, get her back on track.
We have gone to several recitals and enjoyed hearing her other students play. We are consistently impressed.
My daughter has been taking lessons for two years now, and finally loves piano. She sees the benefit of working at something that doesn’t come easy. She practices every day without complaining! (She’s practiced every day for a while now, but there was A LOT of resistance in the beginning, and middle, lol). Now she knows that most people are not just naturally talented, they actually put in time and effort.
I’m sure Linda would be great for any adult too. One of these days I just might have to find out for myself... although my daughter keeps insisting she’s going to teach me!"
