About Barry
I have over 30 years of experience teaching voice, working with choral groups, voice students as well as classroom music instruction. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Music Education as well as a Masters degree in music from an accredited school of music and have been performing both as a soloist and in vocal performance groups since I was a teenager. I bring to the vocal/music studio all of this experience as well as a heart to pass along this experience to others that desire to share the song that is in their heart. If it is your desire to sing, play the keyboard or guitar, please get in touch with me!

*** Lesson Details ***
When a student gets started with me , wherever their interest lies, I work to discover where they are on their musical journey, discuss some goals they would like to set for themselves and put a teaching and lear
ning plan into motion.

For vocalists my primary goal is to assist anyone who is looking to improve the tonal quality and strength of their singing or speaking voice while reducing vocal tension and voice fatigue.

I facilitate singers of any level, age or style who seek to improve breath support, diction, range, tone quality, and ease of singing. This is achieved through a variety of singing exercises, fun vocal drills and creative singing games that we do in lesson time and with instruction on what to do at home.

For individuals seeking to develop basic musical understandings in theory, keyboard skills and guitar, I endeavor to start with were they are and take them to where they desire to be as a musician; opening up doors of music understanding and performance skills that help them on their musical journey.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Keyboard/Piano, Sound system, computer

*** Travel Equipment ***
I have a portable Keyboard if needed for in home keyboard lessons.

*** Specialties ***
Children's Voice and Vocal Techniques for all ages. Beginning piano and Keyboard basics.

About Edward
My name is Edward and I have been playing music most of my life. I was involved in every form of music education that I could find, and took private lessons on guitar and piano for ten years. During this time, I learned that I improved when I performed music that I liked. I attended the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY and received a B.S. in Studio Music in 1996. I then moved to San Diego, CA and started my own business teaching music. The lessons were taught at the students' homes and I incorporated the students' interests in teaching. I have also performed for many years and have written many songs that have been recorded and performed.

*** Lesson Details ***
My teaching method is unique; I never teach the same way for everyone. The main objectives I teach include performance, reading, ear training, theory, composition and improvisa
tion. I find that playing examples of music that you like is the best way to improve skills. I will recommend books that best suit your style and level. The main styles include (but not limited to) rock, blues, classical, pop, jazz and country. Please contact me if you have any other questions about my teaching methods.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have a Yamaha 88 key weighted action digital piano with recording features. I also have music stands and amps for guitars. We have a smoke and pet free home. I also have a large collection of sheet music and music books available for lessons.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I will travel to your home. Clark County, NV

At 67 years old I was a little nervous picking up a new instrument. I chose Edward and am glad that I did. He is patient and listens to each request that I make. He's teaching me in a way that is comfortable and to my liking. He goes the extra mile to teach me only songs that I wish to learn along with hints that make it easier. I couldn't ask for a better instructor and would highly recommend Edward. if you choose him, you will be glad that you did.

About Michelle
I am a 24 yr old student @ CSN. I was in High School When I bought my first guitar and developed a passion for music. For me music opened the door to a new lifestyle and ultimately led me to begin teaching and sharing music with others. I have taught a variety of ages, ranging from children to adults. For beginner guitarists, I believe there can be just as much joy and fun as there can be practice. I strive to make everything simple while important skills are learned. I am a patient and committed teacher who can show you these skills that will help to make you a well-rounded musician.

***Lesson Details***
Each lesson will consist of a unique and personalized curriculum to fit the student’s needs. This will be done at a pace that allows for confidence to be built and a complete understanding of the material. Each student is taught the
basic skills of guitar so that they can become an independent and self-sufficient musician with a strong fundamental foundation. Crucial skills such as reading music, scales, various chords, and more will be taught in each lesson. Each lesson will be just as enjoyable as it is informative. After all, “pleasure in a job puts perfection in the work”. That is why I ask each Student to bring a song or piece that he/she enjoys working on. Overtime, all the skills learned will allow students to play with confidence!

***Lesson Duration***
Lessons are available in 30, 45, & 60 min durations. Below are the recommended times based on age that I find most beneficial to most students. These will help you achieve the most out of each lesson while keeping things fun & simple!

About Chau
My name is Chau and I am a transplant from Australia who has resided in Las Vegas for the last 15 years. I have a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Western Sydney and University of Nevada, Las Vegas, majoring in vocal performance and music technology. I am a wife to my husband and a mother to our four children. I've been teaching voice for over 18 years and have loved every minute of it because I truly care about my craft and more importantly, my students and their creative goals. I was a Music Specialist at Merryhill School in Las Vegas, teaching K-8th Grade, until I became pregnant with my second child. I've also worked in church worship teams for the past 20 years, both in Australia (Sydney and Brisbane) and Las Vegas, Nevada. My faith dictates the way I live my life and as a young child, my dad taught me to always strive
for excellence in all that I do. This mentality has undoubtedly motivated my teaching career. My students can count on a teacher who is prepared and creative in developing a learning experience that will exponentially €œgrow€ them in their creative field.
I inherited my love for singing from my Mum -- as a child I watched her perform and wished that I could one day do the same. At the age of 16, after auditioning, I was selected to be a part of the New South Wales Senior (High School) State Choir and as a result, I toured the USA in 1999 representing the Australian Embassy in the United States. This was around the same time that I caught €œthe bug€ and decided to pursue music as a career. I then went on to study music, first briefly at the Music Conservatorium in Sydney and then finishing my Bachelor's degree in Music at the University of Western Sydney. I was first classically trained vocally and with that background, moved onto more contemporary vocal styles. After marrying my husband, I moved to Las Vegas and began to study Counseling/Psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Music and Counseling, to me, made the perfect marriage as I love music and love people equally. Needless to say, teaching music and helping people has made my life very fulfilling.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in vocal techniques, and diaphragm/breathing techniques.
As far as style or genre are concerned, I use both, my experience in classical voice training and contemporary voice training, to keep my students engaged in their craft. I listen well to my student's needs and meet them where they are at, ensuring that I meet their creative goals and not my own.

About Akiko
Hello! I have been playing the piano ever since I was 6 year's old, and have been teaching piano over 15 years. I began teaching piano when I was working on my Bachelor's Degree in Music and also taught vocal music at a local elementary school. After receiving a B.A. and a teaching license, I have taught vocal music at elementary schools and choir at both middle and high schools. Because of this extensive teaching experience at schools, I am good with young children and teens.

Even as a pianist, I strongly believe that ear training and solfege singing play a big role in learning to play piano. In addition to teaching playing technique and artistry, my lessons include music theory, ear training, sight-reading and solfege singing. I specialize in classical music.

I homeschool my daughter, so I am available during the day to especi
ally teach homeschool children and their families. I am fun, organized, very patient, and I am an excellent teacher. I can't wait to hear from you!

After only a couple months with Ms Graves, my two teen-aged daughters are successfully playing the piano by actually reading the music! Ms. Graves guides the music choices based on the studen’s interest and the relatively quick success motivates the girls to practice on their own. We couldn’t be happier with our choice in piano instructors. Ms. Graves is encouraging and patient.
