Students will be shown proper technique, as a bass player your sense of rhythm and feel is very important so a lot of focus of understanding, reading and writing rhythms. Being able to navigate through chord progressions is also key so an understanding of theory and its applications on the neck will receieve a lot of focus. For new comers, a method book is highly suggested to work through.

I am an active professional classical/opera singer with nine years of teaching experience. My students include a range of levels and ages who vary in musical aspirations and sing in many different styles, including opera, art song, jazz, blues, pop, and musical theater. My students have gone on to sing on Broadway, pursue music and theater degrees, compete and win competitions. Many of my students also study piano or guitar in order to increase musicianship and independence in study. Students are given every opportunity to become well-rounded, performing musicians when studying with me. I am a friendly, open-minded, enthusiastic musician who loves teaching others!

As someone who is comfortable with a variety of musical genres, and techniques, the first thing I want to do with any student is to identify their goals, desires, and ability, and then tailor fit a technique to best compliment those assets. After singing opera professionally for over 11 years, I truly feel that a fundamental approach to singing through "24 Italian Songs and Arias", American/English Art Song, Golden-Age Musical Theater, and Vaccai exercises are the perfect training grounds for the establishment of a healthy, and sustainable vocal technique. For intermediate, and advanced students I aim to incorporate French, and German Art Song, in addition to arias/songs from composers such as Mozart, Handel, Donizetti, Rossini, Bellini, Bernstein, Sondheim, and Gershwin to expand upon various techniques. Unlike some teachers, though, I feel that there is no single-way to teach singing, and I positively love to experiment with a wide variety of vocal, and breathing exercises to ...

About Jesus

Hello There, My name is Jesus. After teaching for over 8-years I have come to learn that there is fundamentally not a single one-size-fits all method to the learning and teaching singing. Flexibility, comfortably, and enjoyability are the the three main pillars of my studio; and when supported

Jesus is simply incredible to work with. I went to him thinking we would immediately start singing opera arias, but instead we started with the absolute fundamentals of singing. We focused on vocal and breathing exercises for the first few lessons, and then slowly started working on songs. My sound is so much more consistent now, I can hold a tune better than I ever thought I could, and he has helped me discover notes I didn’t even know I could sing. He is amazing. I love working with him. Do yourself a favor and take lessons with Jesus. 5-Stars!!!

My name is Carlos.

I am a composer and have taught professionally for over 20 years. I taught at Berklee College of Music, New England Conservatory, Musicians Institute, the Cornel School of Music and the California College of Music.

I worked in New York, Boston and Los Angeles in many musical roles as a composer, producer and keyboardist.
With my composition students I work on Jazz and Traditional Harmony, arranging for Horns, Strings and Rhythm Section. Chord-Scale based creation of voicings and their application in contemporary orchestration, melodic development, chord progressions, song forms and how to create music drawing from the best contemporary resources. Midi-Mockups.

My classes are always fun, stress free but with a strong curriculum, organized and dynamic.
Onsite, I teach music at my studio in Los Angeles. My studio is located in the historical Village Green.
Online, I teach music via Skype or Zoom using different cameras to enhance the music lesson experience.

I recently graduated from The Juilliard School with a BMA in Piano Performance, having studied with legendary pedagogue and Chair of Piano Dr. Veda Kaplinsky, and fabled concert pianist Hung-Kuan Chen, whose students also include the likes of Yuja Wang and Sean Chen. I've traveled the musical world and studied with several of the world's most sought after pianists, including András Schiff, Richard Goode, Ari Vardi, and Sergei Babayan, mentor of international piano star Daniil Trifonov, as one of eight students worldwide accepted to his final Babayan International Piano Academy. I've performed with the Seattle Symphony amongst various other orchestras in Europe and China, and perform regularly as a soloist in the greater NYC area and Seattle at venues including Carnegie Hall. Since beginning my teaching career, I've looked forward to sharing my knowledge with young students in order to nurture their artistic talents and unique musical sense. Students will be able to perceive piano not ...

As a parent, I worried that my child wouldn’t receive a truly effective musical education that was tailored to suit his needs and goals. After studying with Max for two years, my twelve year old son has just started his first semester at the Mannes’ School of Music Pre-College Program this Fall. I cannot thank Max enough for his efforts. Before starting lessons with Max, my son had zero interest in piano despite his potential. Max made piano fun, interesting, and worthy of my son’s time. He became an entirely different person! He has studied with the world’s foremost concert pianists and teachers, and he always used his illustrious network to help my son with career opportunities. Though my son now studies in a formal setting, I’m grateful to Max for his help in securing my son’s future. If you are a parent who is unsure of who to entrust your child’s musical development to, please sign up for Max’s lessons. He is the real deal!
Alex
Max has been very helpful so far in teaching me the fundamentals of what makes a proficient piano player, from the technical aspects to the mentality one should have. Would Recommend.
Leopold
Max is a young man with a mature spirit far beyond his years. My wife and I heard him in concert where he gave a beautiful recital of Liszt and Beethoven Sonatas in our hometown of Berlin. I recently visited New York for a business trip, and took the opportunity to speak to this young man who captured my ears with his nearly philosophical performance. After a brief two hour lesson, it was clear to me that the artist had clear vision of a realm that most would disregard as imaginary. I look forward to hearing him again in Europe, and encourage those in New York to take advantage of his services. He will be a major influence on the future of classical music.

Highly recommend Ronen as a drum instructor! I recently started to take lessons for the first time at the age of 52. Ronen has made this experience so much fun. He is so knowledgeable, extremely patient and understanding. He balances each lesson with not only teaching technical skill but also the history of various drum techniques which makes it so interesting. He is a great teacher and it is a privilege to take lessons from him!

"Josh is a great instructor, he knows his stuff and is great with explaining concepts in layman's terms for someone like me who is just getting started with piano.

Along with being a great instructor, he is good company in general, which makes the lessons a lot more fun though they do tend to go by too quickly.

All in all, unless you're boring and without a sense of humor, I'd highly recommend choosing Josh as your instructor. You'll definitely get your money's worth."

"I've had the pleasure of learning from a couple of good teachers in my time. These were instructors with a clear fervor for music and a deft hand at instruction. Then there's Jared. With a calm and joyful persistence, one that not only holds onto an organic passion for music but one that also understands the unique challenges of the pupil, he guides the student through inevitable missteps and atonal chaos with a firm grace. His warmth and humor, coupled with a serious depth of music knowledge, are a must for the aspiring musician or the hobbyist. Whether your aims include songwriting, composition, or just plucking away in the garage, Jared's bespoke formula works. And, it's a joy while one partakes.

Best medicine I ever had!"
