I like to make lessons fun and engaging for my students. Practicing for the sake of practicing doesn't yield usually leave a lasting love for playing music. I'm passionate about helping my students figure out what kind of music they enjoy or connect with and giving them the tools and techniques needed to play their favorite songs and styles - and also be able to play with their friends. I'm happy to go as deep into theory as the student wants to go. Learning the guitar changed my life because it gave me a new way to connect with people, and I started playing in churches and bands at a young age. My hope is to help my you or your child develop a love and mastery of your instrument!

Guitar is one of the most popular instruments today. It has a long history as an instrument, and with the invention of the electric guitar, has become a dominant voice of multiple generations.

Vince began playing guitar as a teenager. He initially learned on his mother's electric guitar and 12-string acoustic guitar. He took some lessons, but is largely self taught by transcribing music. Since attending college for trumpet, Vince has applied that musical knowledge to the guitar.

Vince has recorded guitar on many of his solo albums including Syzygy and Sound Plan as well as other artists' music. He performs regularly with the John Byrne Band on 6-string banjo (tuned like a standard guitar) and has appeared on electric 12-string and 6-string acoustic guitar.

Vince owns an array of guitars: 6-string electrics, 12-string electric, 6-string acoustics, 12-string acoustics, and 6-string banjo. He has a few amps and many pedals to augment the guitars' sound. He teaches from his ...

What you can expect to get out of a vocal lesson is not only knowledge of the voice and sound yet also appreciation for your personal voice.
Each voice is uniquely made to sound special. There are various types of tones, vibrations, feelings, and songs a voice makes. You will learn to discover the beauty of your own.
Fun! Learning! Comprehension! Confidence! Making the music in you count!

Students will learn how to read as well as play: notes, chords, scales, songs, common chord progressions, guitar tab, chord charts and a whole bunch more! Ear training, chord theory and improvisation will also be incorporated into the lessons.

I generally walk students through a guitar method book.
( a few examples listed below)

Hal Leonard Guitar Method by Will Schmid Level 1

The Christopher Parkening Guitar Method - Volume 1: Guitar Technique

Mel Bay's Modern Guitar Method Grade 1

Some primary goals I have for students are to keep them motivated, interested, inspired and challenged.

Experienced teacher with 20 years of playing under my belt.

I teach with an encouraging, positive mentality that will foster fun and a love for the drums! For beginners, I start from the ground up with proper technique, rudiments, musicality, all while ensuring room for creativity and curiosity.

After that, and for drummers with a little more experience, you'll learn to:
-Use rudiments in a fun and practical way on the kit
-Build your drum vocabulary
-Play musically and with purpose
-Read and write music
-Write fast charts for gigging

I teach out of my music studio in my home, a roomy and professional space with a beautiful kit to play on.

I have tons of experience with young students!

About Cassie

I am a professional drummer and percussionist with a healthy live gigging and teaching portfolio. I have 20 years of experience under my belt. Drum students can expect to improve week to week on the kit. I teach students the foundations of drumming while fostering their unique style and creativity

We love Cassie! My son, who struggles to focus, loves his time with her...from learning rudiments to playing the music that HE loves. She’s a fantastic drummer AND teacher!
Cassidy
I am a super beginner at drums, and Cassie was always so patient with me and helped me take some amazing leaps in my progress in just a few sessions! She’s super flexible and was always willing to teach me whatever beats/skills I was interested in learning more about. Not to mention- she is such a talented drummer herself, so she is just a wealth of knowledge and inspiring as heck. Absolutely awesome instructor!

"My son has taken lessons from Catherine for a year and a half. He had no experience at all when we started, and I'm amazed at how much he's learned in such a short time! He is learning theory, sight reading, musicianship, etc. Catherine does such a good job connecting with him at his level and accommodating his personality while still challenging him with what she knows he can handle. She has always been so flexible and easy to work with! We plan on sticking around for years to come. :)"
