My approach is fun, simple, and easy to understand. I focus on getting a strong foundation and excellent first experience with music. The child will be given a lesson and theory book to work from, but will also be encouraged to sing music they personally like. This keeps the child motivated to practice and adds an element of fun! These songs can then be used in our recitals, for auditions, or put in their personal repertoire book.
I have also successfully prepared many students for their Cab Calloway School for the Arts auditions and have made it in.

Professional trombonist working in the NYC area. Experienced in teaching all styles of music to all ages and levels.
I have also taught many older students that want to rediscover their passion for music.
Lessons are customized and catered to the needs/goals of each student. Instead of simply training students to read music and play notes, I prefer to teach my students to think, play, and act like musicians.
My lessons feature improvisation skills, sight-reading, playing by ear, building a strong technical foundation and musical analysis.
Lesson are also focused on staying engaged by playing new fun and challenging material.
To me the most important thing is to have fun and to keep the passion we all have for music while gaining technical proficiency.
I assure you will see leaps of improvement by working with me!
I can’t wait to meet you!

I've helped many band members, friends and students to write songs and would be glad to help any future students. But songwriting is a very personal thing and so rather than push too many ideas on a student, I find it's ideal to provide them with tools and let their creativity take over.

It's amazing what you can do with your voice! Unlike other musicians, as a singer you carry your instrument with you at all times. The opportunities to practice and perform your art are vast, as well as the ways to experiment with different styles, techniques, and of course, harmonies! Similar to a guitar player plucking one note and then building it into a chord, learning how to harmonize will create that rich, full sound when you're singing with a group or a choir. Singing harmonies, …

Once you've learned the basics of piano, it's time to move on to playing actual songs! But how do you find the sheet music or piano chords for songs you love? Here are some helpful ideas from Austin, TX teacher Tosin A... Probably the most important thing I do as a professional piano player is learning new songs. This has me spending a lot of time searching for chords. Over the last few years I've perfected my chord-finding skills, so I'll take you through my process of finding pian …
