I have over 15 years of teaching experience, an undergraduate degree in music, and continuing education with a local world class jazz musician.

I teach classical, jazz, improvisation, composition, ear training, songwriting, and instrumental music.

This is a drop in improvisation class.  This class will apply the fundamentals of improvisation to modern song forms and jazz song forms.  I will meet you where you are so don't fret to much about trying to match your ability.  Some options for discussion will be scalar connections, arpeggios, bi-tonailty, rhythmic divisions including non traditional rhythmic divisions, transposition, and transcribing.

I have been performing along the front range in Colorado for the last 10 years.  I perform with jazz trios, in rock and roll groups, and as a classical soloist!

I hope to be a fun teacher because I love teaching.  I have extensive training and playing experience in classical, jazz, improvisation, and composition.  

I strive to inspire my students and work to develope a personalized lesson for my students.

We work on phrasing and using the blues scale creatively.  I try to give you some suggestions and parameters so that you feel like you have an idea where to start.
