Aayushi is a Jazz/Blues/Folk guitar player who recently graduated from The Juilliard School and is currently based in New York City working as a professional musician. She has worked with the likes of Christian McBride, DJ Logic, Geoffrey Keezer and Ron Blake and has her own projects going on with genres ranging from Blues/Rock to Folk and to Modern Jazz.

We will look at some Jazz Standards and analyze the function of the harmony and how the tunes were written. Further, we would discuss the different options in terms of vocabulary that once can use while making musical decisions over those chord changes.

My approach to the instrument while teaching is the same as playing. Every student is going to have a different curriculum based on their interests and skill levels. The approach to learning music initially is going to be a deeper dive into technical and theoretical aspects which would be turned into practical approaches as we keep going further. My goal would be to make you understand how the instrument and the music works and push your creative limits.
