Erasmo R.

Murrieta, CA

About Erasmo

Hello Parents and Students,

I have been teaching and writing music professionally for ten years. My first introduction to music was just like some of you, starting in high school where I had a great teacher that encouraged me to play. This helped me so much, and I wouldn't be where I am at if it weren't for his help and positive encouragement. Now I try to encourage all of my students the same way.

After high school I went on and played percussion with various Orchestras such as the "œInland Valley Symphony Orchestra" and "Mt. San Jacinto Symphony Orchestra."

I have also been involv
ed in the DCI (Drum Corps International) and Drumline community. I toured for four years and experienced performing with groups such as Yamato Drum and Bugle Corps 2002-2005, Black Knights 2006, and RCC marching and winter percussion under the direction of Scott Johnson & Jeff Lee in 2002, and Sean Vega & Jim Wunderlich in 2003.

During my college years I started playing Jazz Vibraphone in my school'™s top big-band. This allowed me the opportunity to play Jazz Piano which I have performed and still study until this day. As a result, Jazz has now become one of my biggest passions.

As a Professional International Composer, I have had the privilege of writing and arranging for many marching bands, wind ensembles, and indoor percussion ensembles, including orchestrations, recordings and sequencing projects for media, and musical theatre in the United States and Japan.

I am also currently an adjudicator for the Southern California Band and Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) and a member of the Vic-Firth Education Team.

I hope that this gives you a close and personal Idea of where I come from and hope that I can help you get the most out of your experience with music.

*** Lesson Details ***
I believe that in order for you to get the most out of our lessons it takes both, the Teacher'™s and Student'™s understanding and attention from both ends. sometimes giving all of the information in the world won't help if one there is no engagement and two if me as a teacher don't make sure that you understand. So I like to make sure to explain things in more than one way to make sure the student understands the concepts and what to practice.

I like to keep a relaxed atmosphere, but also making sure that there is a high level of professionalism and expectation of attentiveness from the student.

Of course, I also understand that this all depends on the age of the student, and as we meet and get to see what it is that you want to focus on and I will make sure to concentrate on that and help you reach your goals!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Mallets, Concert and Marching Sticks, Metronome, Practice pad, and Literature.
(Acoustic and Electric Piano are available depending on the time we arrange our lessons at the studio)
(Electric Drumset Available soon)

*** Travel Equipment ***

*** Specialties ***

Great Teacher

Though at times his schedule can be a little cluttered, Erasmo is always willing to add another lesson to his calendar. He's an all-around great teacher and nice guy, and this really shows through the relaxed, chill environment he creates during lessons. He taught me almost everything I know about music, and I feel like I can come to him whenever I have a question about a certain technique or piece of music. Respect.

Amazing instructor

Erasmo has been my instructor and has taught me mallet percussion for the past year, and over that year I have improved unbelievably. He is an amazing instructor, very patient and helps explain so the student can fully understand. I have gotten very far within such little time thanks to him. I have become such a better musician from the time I started learning from Erasmo, and I have gotten many great opportunities to become an even better musician thanks to the instruction I have learned. I would highly recommend him for anyone of any age.

Chris S.

Temecula, CA

About Chris

Hi there! My name is Chris and I've been playing music my entire life and I believe that with the right attitude and environment anyone can achieve musical greatness!

I was born into a musical family and have studied classical piano since I was 4 years old! I am very well versed in music theory and proper technique, with an emphasis on avoiding player's injuries, as well as a great knowledge of classical Pieces for any skill level.

Alas!

As a young teenager I grew rebellious and learned how to play the electric guitar and have since sought teachers outside my family to learn mod
ern styles and 5 other instruments!! I have also worked toward a music degree and have made music the center of my life.

Classical music is not everyone's passion but a good practice routine, attitude and environment is always a good thing to have as these things are important regardless of your favorite music.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons are held with a fun and relaxed attitude. Learning music should always be enjoyable and a good attitude and love for music is cultured and encouraged.

Lessons are structured just like a practice session should be. We will begin with a warm-up exercise designed to acquaint you with the proper technique to meet your personal musical goals. the next activities are highly personalized, but is usually something like reading music or a music theory game. These activities are things that are good for you but may not be your favorite part of learning music. They will, however, go a long way toward your better understanding of how your favorite music is structured.

Examples could be learning about 12 bar blues, common strum patterns (for guitar), scales, sight-reading, or music analysis.

We will spend the rest of class learning and practicing an activity of your choice. This is usually a song but can be anything you wish to improve upon. this is usually a long-term goal of yours. *I've always wanted to learn......*

By structuring our lessons the same as how you will practice, and by keeping good notes, it will be easy for you to take on practice at home and achieve all of your musical goals!

*** Travel Equipment ***
Students should have their own guitar/piano/keyboard etc. Guitar/violin students should also have a music stand and tuner to keep at home. I will bring picks, spare tuner, music, and handouts.

*** Specialties ***
I primarily specialize in classical piano in styles such as Muzio Clementi and Frederic Chopin. I also play Bach and various Spanish classical guitar pieces. I have also extensively studied electric guitar in Blues such ZZ Top, Metal such as Metallica, and rock such as Led Zeppelin. I have also studied Irish and Celtic folk music for instruments such as Mandolin and Violin.

Love Her! Truly Grateful To Have Been Her Student!

You seriously just hit the jackpot when your taken under Vivien's wing. Besides being a great singer, Vivien Lesiak is one of the most amazing vocal teachers I have ever worked with. She has always been very dedicated and very patient. Let me just say that when I was taken under her wing I was still very shy at singing in front of even one person (including her!)

Having studied with her I've managed to do things I never thought were even possible. A girl who was afraid of singing in front of even one person ends up being able to sing in front of live audiences!!! Before I met Vivien, I had NEVER done that. Besides teaching me many amazing techniques about singing, she also helped me improve the range and tone of my voice. She also watches your tongue… And I mean that! First thing she noticed when I started my first session with her was my tongue doing who knows what (HAHA!) She makes sure parts like your tongue and jaw are relaxed and she incorporates exercises to help release any tension one may be holding. Her singing technique also incorporates the importance of ones well-being in order to reach their full vocal potential, which is something that particularly helped me.

I have gained so much more confidence thanks to her in both my singing and just life in general. I am truly grateful for having worked with her and would definitely, without a doubt, recommend her to anyone. Her talent, skills, support, and genuine-kind-loving heart is sure to help anyone grow and reach their full potential.

Singing
I can sing with confidence!

I had always wanted to sing but was very nervous about taking singing lessons because I was afraid to sing in front of anyone. But Vivien made me feel comfortable right from our very first lesson together. She is very nurturing and really helped build my confidence as a singer while developing and strengthening my voice. Now I often sing in front of others, which I never thought I would be able to do. I highly recommend Vivien. She is a great teacher!

Why Are There Different Violin Sizes, and Why Does it Matter?
One of the main concerns that violin students and their parents typically have is purchasing the right-sized violin. Obviously you can't give a five-year-old a full-size violin and expect him or her to be able to handle the instrument. And once kids are in their teenage years, trying to keep up with growth spurts can be extremely difficult, especially considering how much violins cost. Even adults can run into problems when selecting the right size. Fortunately, after a little research, selectin
