I am Sarah.

I am hearing.

I graduated from college about 10 years ago with a B.A in American Sign Language/English Interpreting.

Since my graduation I have been working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in high school to learn independent living skills and job seeking skills. I have also been working with DeafBlind clients out in the community and understand the spectrum of DeafBlind and their needs.

The class would be a combination of learning the language as well as learning about the Deaf culture, (if interested) the DeafBlind culture, and required to be involved in the Deaf community in your area to get the maximum learning possible.

THIS CLASS IS DESIGNED FOR AGES 8-10 YEARS OLD (and for anyone else that wants to join)!

PART 5
In this class we will learn, practice and sign sentences with words related to Halloween.
If you want to learn about how to explain Halloween costumes and a haunted house this class is for you. I personally don't do scary well but I am good at explaining how classifiers would work to communicate a creepy story. 

First we will review and learn some of the signs from our "Back to School" and "Autumn" category from the past few weeks. So be ready to review OR LEARN a few of these previous signs.

The Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. I will work with you wherever you are at in your learning of American Sign Language.
I also teach about Deaf Culture, Deaf History, and so much more in my classes.
I will adapt the classes to match what you are looking for.
If your child wants to learn I will do songs and have them draw pictures in class and learn signs with the activities.
If you want to become and interpreter I can tailor the class to focus more on interpreting and Deaf-culture signs.

I have skills with DeafBlind, Deaf, and Hard-of-Hearing interpreting. I also have been a job coach for Deaf individuals in the community and teach them how to advocate for themselves and develop independent living skills. I have been awarded the MDBA (Minnesota DeafBlind Association) 2017 Interpreter of the year award.

In this lesson we will continue to learn our months and holiday signs. Go back and watch Part 23 if you haven't yet to learn the months and holidays from January through May.
