In this lesson we will review sign previously learned signs and then we will add some new signs in this lesson.
Vocabulary we will review will be: live, like, learn, sign and name
The Vocabulary we will learn will be: city, help, tell, sign, house, big, small, children, asking you, asking me, asking another person (them)

American Sign Language

I am Sarah.

I am hearing.

I graduated from college about 10 years ago with a B.A in American Sign Language/English Interpreting.

Since my graduation I have been working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in high school to learn independent living skills and job seeking skills. I have also been working with DeafBlind clients out in the community and understand the spectrum of DeafBlind and their needs.

The class would be a combination of learning the language as well as learning about the Deaf culture, (if interested) the DeafBlind culture, and required to be involved in the Deaf community in your area to get the maximum learning possible.

The Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. (RID), a national membership organization, plays a leading role in advocating for excellence in the delivery of interpretation and transliteration services between people who use sign language and people who use spoken language. In collaboration with the Deaf community, RID supports our members and encourages the growth of the profession through the establishment of a national standard for qualified sign language interpreters and transliterators, ongoing professional development and adherence to a code of professional conduct.

Assist DeafBlind individuals to live their lives as independent as possible. Also teach Independent Living Skills (ILS) to my DeafBlind clients.

I will work with you wherever you are at in your learning of American Sign Language.
I also teach about Deaf Culture, Deaf History, and so much more in my classes.
I will adapt the classes to match what you are looking for.
If your child wants to learn I will do songs and have them draw pictures in class and learn signs with the activities.
If you want to become and interpreter I can tailor the class to focus more on interpreting and Deaf-culture signs.

I have skills with DeafBlind, Deaf, and Hard-of-Hearing interpreting. I also have been a job coach for Deaf individuals in the community and teach them how to advocate for themselves and develop independent living skills. I have been awarded the MDBA (Minnesota DeafBlind Association) 2017 Interpreter of the year award.

THIS CLASS IS DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS AGES 5-9 YEARS OLD. In this lesson we will review sign previously learned signs and then we will add some new signs in this lesson.

The Vocabulary we will learn will be: where and how-many.

THIS CLASS IS DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS AGES 5-9 YEARS OLD.

In this lesson we will review sign previously learned signs and then we will add some new signs in this lesson.

Vocabulary we will review will be: city, live, like, learn, house, big, help, tell, children and how-many.
The Vocabulary we will learn will be: don't like and none.
Then we will put the new words we learned about into sentences/questions for practice.

Toddler ASL Curriculum- Part 24- ANIMALS

THIS CLASS IS DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS AGES 5-9 YEARS OLD.
BUT THE CLASS IS FOR ANYONE.

In this lesson we will continue to learn our months and holiday signs. Go back and watch Part 23 if you haven't yet to learn the months and holidays from January through May.
The vocabulary we will learn will be: June, Juneteenth, July, Fourth of July, August, September, Labor Day, Native American Day, October, Columbus Day, Halloween, November, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, December, Hanukkah, Kwanza, Christmas (Merry Christmas). Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.
