*** Lesson Details ***
I am a laid back teacher, but I definitely expect students to practice what I suggest they practice. I advise that students use method books or sheet music of some sort, and I will certainly make notes for them and create materials they can learn from. I always teach based on the goals of the student and what type of music they enjoy, but I also like to guide the student in a direction I think would benefit them. I usually introduce music to play right away, conforming of course to the skill level and interest of the student. I now a play seven-string guitar that differs from the standard six-string guitar in that it has one string lower than the low E of a six-string. It will be practical to aide students by accompanying with a bass range instrument.
*** Specialties ***
My guitar roots are mainly Jazz, but I am always happy to employ a very wide range of styles. I work with both modal and tonal musical styles.

Need to get your English skills up to par or want to be better at conversational English, I can help. I've taught English classes in various settings; classes, one-on-one, and in small group settings. I can make learning English so much fun that you will forget that you are learning English - but you will progress. I can say that with confidence. However, because this is a language and like many other skills it will take time, and you will need to put in the effort as well. So, what is stopping you. Now you're just a click away from really fun English lessons.
The way that I teach is to help the student develop their own style. I have students work on their own individual projects that they pick out while asking me questions that they might have while they are doing their project.
However, if they would like there is an option for me to develop lessons for the student on certain sewing techniques that the student could learn. Although, be aware that learning how to sew takes time and that all the techniques of sewing cannot be done all at once.
Then, there is the third option that the lesson could be a mix of the student doing what they want (choosing their own project) and learning some pre-designed
My first goal is to give my students all of the tools they need to feel confident from the very first lesson. I would like for all of my students within the first lesson to finish either of two basic projects (pajama pants or a draw string bag).
My lessons are not like videos you may find online. Meaning projects will take longer than you think they will. I will work with you to properly construct a quality finished project without too many frustrations and in a timely manner. I recommend buying lessons in 90 minute packages, since sewing always takes longer than expected.

I learned English while learning Spanish at the same time. I know how it feels to have to learn two languages at once and how hard it can be. I strive to find the best way you like to learn and work as a team to help you learn the language! I make it fun and relate it to your life.

I've been teaching various things for over 20 years, including teaching ESL to students internationally online and in person. My style is very encouraging and motivating. My approach is to focus on building skills in pronunciation and comprehension because it is critical for being able to clearly communicate. Conversational English is what my international student's tell me is their weakest area. They tell me they want to practice having conversations because they usually don't have native English speakers to talk with. I create a very relaxed and safe-to-make mistakes kind of environment. If you want to practice your conversational skills, let's chat. If you want to build your comprehension and other English skills, let's work together. I look forward to meeting you. See you in the classroom.
My background in teaching spans many different topics, including K-12 teaching educational subjects and adults
I'll see you in the classroom.

Hello! I am Brooke Shoup and I have been working with international students for the last five years. Together we have worked on conversational English, cultural understanding, and I will also work through papers and assignments with my students as well.
I love to learn and meet new people, and have often become long lasting friends with my international students coming from China, Japan, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia!
When a new student is learning music, it is most important to establish a love of the instrument in order to see results. This is made possible by teaching music theory, sight reading, technique, and ear training led by the student's natural interests. I have over ten years of experience working with kids across a variety of settings with one year experience in special needs and four years working in music composition and performance.
Please let me know if you have any questions, I'd be happy to speak with you!

Hi my name is Sundus and I enjoy teaching. With English being my second language I appreciate the work of ESL teachers and that inspired me to give back. Being the eldest of eight has taught me the importance of patiences when teaching. I have worked with children and adults for two years and wish to continue gaining experience. I personally think learning should be fun and engaging.
My name is Sundus. I enjoy working with people, teaching, outdoors, cats and much more. I’m passionate about changing the world one step at a time and making a difference in people’s lives. I’ve worked with children from the ages of 5-18 and adults.
My name is Dorcas. I was an ESL student myself in high school. Finally passing the tests and not taking it anymore was very rewarding. I am here to help you do that too. I have been where you are in that stage, so don’t be ashamed, we will go through it together!
My name is Dorcas. I grew up in a big family with five siblings. My house has always been full of people, with loving hearts. I have always learned to treat others with care and respect, and that is the way I will treat my students. If you need any help with anything, just know that I am here to help you figure it out together.
When English is not your first language, you want to make sure your written and spoken skills surpass those of even native speakers. I would like to help students starting their journey into the English speaking world.
I'm not great at "selling" myself as to why you should choose me to be your instructor. I struggled while in school, but I managed to get through. Now, when I educate patients, colleagues, or even friends, I have found ways to make tough subjects easy to understand. We sometimes get caught up in "sounding smart" and don't know if the person receiving the information is understanding. If you are not able to understand a topic in easier layman's terms, no matter how well you memorize it, it won't stick for long.
I hope to be able to assist students who may be struggling with ESL and anatomy find effective studying strategies to grasp and understand the material presented.

Although English idioms don't make sense at first, these unique expressions (together with proverbs) add substance and humor to our conversations. The Oxford Dictionary defines the word "idiom" as a: "group of words established by usage as having a meaning not deducible from those of the individual words (e.g. over the moon, see the light)." This means that English idioms should not be taken literally, because their meaning is metaphorical. You don't really wish someone would “break a …
