I have a lot of experience playing all kinds of percussion! I've been doing it since I was in middle school, and have gotten a degree in Percussion Performance.

I've always played because I genuinely enjoy it, and I'd like to help people who are trying to get better for auditions, or just want to learn a piece.

These are your lessons, so we'll try to hit whatever your goal is. If you want to defer to me, then I'll start you off with basics like refining your technique, and making sure we can keep tempos steady - things that will apply to everything you play.

About Cameron

Hey I'm Cameron, I'll try to cater lessons to your goals and have fun in the process. I love sharing my knowledge, musical experience, and love for music! High energy and engaging!

She’s really nice and patient. And she can really help you find your range, she also doesn’t point out what you’re ‘bad’ at, but points out the great things you can already do and what you can work on to achieve your goal and then some.

My son really enjoyed his music therapy with Ms. Akiyla. He talked about it all afternoon!

I love teaching to students of all ages and backgrounds. I use fun forms of individualism and effective methods of making learning piano fun. I love seeing a student effectively learn piano through lessons and practicing and recitals. I love to reward the student for their hard work by using rewards and certificates. I also like to record their hard work with piano practice.

Whether you are interested in how pop songs are written, analyzing the great compositions of the classical repertoire, or need help producing your own tracks in my home studio, I can help you reach those goals. Composition can be taught in conjunction with piano lessons (an understanding of musical theory is fundamental and most easily acquired by hands on knowledge at the keyboard) or on its own.

Amazing teacher! My 6 year old daughter has been taking piano lessons with Matthew for more than a 1 1/2 years and is always asking when she will have her next piano lesson. He is a very patient teacher and very knowledgeable of the subject. Matthew has a very kid-friendly personality and now, my daughter has been taking a few singing lessons once in a while, too.

As a teacher, my purpose above all is to unlock a student’s true potential, whether it be musical of otherwise. I do not believe in trying to make or force a particular sound with any student. When proper technique is instilled the voice will go in the direction it is meant with freedom and ease. My goal is to guide the student along their journey of self-discovery. My motto is “if you can feel it, you can repeat it”. What I mean by this is when a student experiences the unique sensation of using the breath efficiently or producing sound without tension a light bulb turns on and they now have a better chance of continuing proper technique. In order to help students feel these sensations in the body that are necessary for singing I use various physical exercises to help create more body awareness. For singers our instrument is our body, and everyone’s body is uniquely their own. I have found every student has his or her own method of learning, whether that is visual, aural, ...

"I am so glad that I had the privilege of meeting Cosima and having her as my singing instructor. Singing is something that I always loved and still do, so I was nervous to show my flaws, but Cosima was always very encouraging. She listened carefully and always tried to find a way to help me reach what ever goal we were working on. Even though I had so much trouble with my voice she never gave up on me, she always tried to figure out different exercises that would help me out. She always asked what she could do better as an instructor to help me reach my goal. One thing I loved receiving were my lesson notes, because I could look over them and remind myself on what I needed to work on. She is extremely understanding! And very patient! I miss my lessons with her! She is the most wonderful, down to earth person and is great at what she does!"

He also helped him take some of his original songs and record them in his studio — talk about going above and beyond! I couldn't speak more highly of Shon. His knowledge of all styles of music, his teaching ability, and heart for his students truly make him one of a kind!"
