About Mark T
I have been playing since I was 4 years old and have been loving every minute of it. I have been fortunate to play and tour with many groups here in the US and in Europe. Over the years I have really enjoyed passing on my knowledge and love of music making to others. I would be honored if you gave me the opportunity to help your or your family achieve their musical dreams.

*** Lesson Details ***
First and foremost I am very laid back and that helps my students relax into the process of making great music. Expect your first lesson to be about getting to know each other and getting a firm idea of what your expectations are.

Everyone learns at a different pace and has changing interests. Within the framework of moving you towards your musical goals I create custom goals and lessons for my students.

What does that mean? Well, y
ou can pick out some of your own music, customize the way you practice, decide when you want to move forward with more challenging music and many other things.

I do expect my students to learn several pieces of music at a time and perform so you can share your music. That's what it is all about after all!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Music room with seating for parents.

*** Travel Equipment ***
None, all students require an instrument to practice on.

*** Specialties ***

Mark is a great teacher. I hadn’t played in over 35 years and he had me playing reasonably in no time. I loved how he was able to adjust to my skills and provide a personal program.

Graduated from Georgia Southern in 2001, with a bachelor degree in music education and Boston University in 2015, with a masters in music education.

Have worked for Atlanta public schools as a band director since Fall 2002.

Private lessons are taught on piano, guitar, and all the band instruments.

I also have a deep passion for Disc jockeying with a bias towards reggae and dance music.

*** Lesson Details ***
Students can except a stress free learning process. After learning the basic symbols of music notation, breathing, and simple rhythms the students will continue learning the techniques and fingerings on their chosen instrument. After mastering these basic concepts in music the children will then be given a chance to perform their songs to an instrumental accompaniment. This is good for the student who does not play
in an ensemble to have the opportunity to play and listen to other moving parts.

*** Specialties ***
music, bass guitar, bassoon, children's music, guitar, classical guitar, electric guitar, home recording, African drum, music theory, acoustic guitar, flute, oboe, trumpet, saxophone, tuba, songwriting, french horn, trombone, clarinet, recording school, piano
My method utilizes maracas and rhythm guitar, played Simultaneously to produce a full ensemble effect.

About Jimmy
I have over 30 years experience as a professional guitar instructor and have been actively teaching lessons in Henry County, GA as well as Clayton County, GA. And have branched out to teach online as well. I had actually started teaching friends as a teenager since 1976 where I grew up in N.Y. and those friends still play guitar to this day, a couple have become professional musicians. I started teaching guitar professional in 1983. Over the years I've had the pleasure of teaching hundreds of students at every skill level.

I teach several styles of playing: Rock, Jazz, Blues, Country, Funk, Rhythm & Lead guitar playing, Classical guitar and Fingerstyle playing. I teach on electric & acoustic guitar.

I have one basic philosophy in my approach to teaching: get the student to fall in love with the guitar so it becomes a life-long pass
ion. As an instructor, I endeavor to make guitar lessons fun, practical and productive!!! Whether you're a beginner, intermediate, advanced or even at the professional level, I can help you advance your playing skills.

I've had a wonderful experience with Jim, and plan on continuing my weekly lessons with him. His methodology is logical and straightforward, his personality is open-minded, affable, and he's quite the prodigy when it comes to his skill level on guitar. He can fluidly change from a bluesy twang to a warm jazz sound, and switch to a nostalgic riff on the acoustic guitar at a moment's notice. He is everything I could ask for in a teacher, and in the short month that I've been taught by him, my learning curve has steepened with every visit. I'm learning so much from this guy and recommend anyone with an interest in guitar to pursue taking lessons from this guy before everyone else with the right idea books him first!
Sincerely,
An eager pupil

Jimmie arrived on-time and ready to start. He dove right into getting to know my son and started teaching him on bells and learning rhythm since that`s what my son will be expected to know for his first year of band in the fall.
He was very good at connecting with my son and easily had him enjoying the lesson.
You can tell Jimmie has a passion for teaching children and his face lit up talking about it. He heaped praise on my sons accomplishments and my son said he truly enjoyed the lesson and can`t wait for next week.
I`d highly recommend him to teach your child. I don`t think you`d find someone else with the same passion for children. So glad I made the decision to hire Jimmie and look forward to many years of him being involved in developing my son into a awesome musician.
Thank you Jimmie!

About Harold
Hi! My name is Harold! This year (2018 ) is my first year teaching. I graduated from Parkview High School in Lilburn, GA where I was part of the music tech and intermediate guitar programs. Apart from that I have over 10 years of musical experience in acoustic/electric guitar, as well as bass guitar; I am prepared to work with individuals who present varying levels of skill and training as well as diversity in personal goals and musical interests.

I intend to help students in finding their own musical talent and style by recognizing individual strengths and building upon them, helping to pinpoint specific areas that may benefit from improvement, and adjusting the material accordingly. My primary goal is to assist students in realizing their particular creative potential by providing a balanced and supportive learning environment with
lessons that are flexible to individual needs and which will not lead to the negative feelings associated with overload, quite commonly experienced in the pursuit of musical knowledge and instruction.

About Beatrice
Before I am a teacher, I am first and foremost, a performer. I believe this puts me at an advantage as a music teacher because I not only have formal training to educate, but I also have the experience of performing. I know how music involves our passions, emotions, our dreams and our fears, that all our complexities as human beings can perfectly be communicated through music. This is why I turn to performance time and time again. There is, no doubt, so much to be said on the intellectual and educational benefits of learning to play an instrument, but I don't think that is the reason many students want to learn. Rather, it amounts to being an outlet of creativity for the student.
In lessons, I try to take a balanced approach by exposing students to every aspect of music: theory, technique, expression, history, and composition. They're A
LL important in music lessons! Within a well-rounded music education, I encourage students to apply both rigor and patience in what I assign. Lastly, no two students are the same; everyone has different needs and goals and comes with their own unique set of traits. I diagnose accordingly and work to uncover each individuals' strengths and weaknesses.

My experience of Beatrice has been awesome, as has my son's (who has been taking piano with her for almost one year). Beatrice is dedicated to each of her students, as is evidenced by her continued support and encouragement in all their accomplishments, including timing and theory. Piano is a difficult instrument to teach, especially to children. The recitals her students participate in are a testament to her abilities to be one of the best teachers out there. We will continue with Beatrice!

About Aja-Kahti
Music & visual artist, and Atlanta resident, Aja Kahti, naturally fell into the role of creative consulting. Being immersed in the art world for most of her life, Aja grew up studying music in schools like Settlement Music School in Philadelphia, stowing away in studio sessions, playing just about every role from singer-songwriter, to producer and vocal coach. While studying the sociological effects of creative culture through the "urban underground" scenes of Atlanta, Philly, and New York City, while building an adventurous, entrepreneurial career as a musician, writer, performance artist, painter, and repurpose designer, among other things, Aja has built the brand, Naked Wanderlust, with her signature style and overall creative approach to life.
After studying public relations, and media technology at Delaware State University, on a v
ocal scholarship, and completing a communications and hospitality internship with the Walt Disney World Resort, Aja Kahti spent several years bouncing across creative platforms, as young artists do. Known for her faerie-like presence and style, distinctive wordplay, and vocal talent; Aja's organic and refreshing approach to creating is what makes her such a visionary talent. She always brings the mature perspective of beauty and gratitude to her art; with a youthful innocence that belies her age. Taking an interest in curating, creative directing, and artist development, seems natural for someone so rooted in the artistic nomadic lifestyle.
