My daughter (12) LOVES Miss Phoebe. We were so excited for our daughter to have private lessons even during COVID craziness. Phoebe is very patient and works well with kids. She is very communicative and has even telephoned when one of our lessons couldn't work out due to technical difficulties. My daughter's music teacher has been impressed with her growth, even though there is not in person orchestra at her school.

I took 5 lessons with Ed, very great instructor. I learned a lot in those few lessons. He helped with with my pitch and with my accent that I had to prepare for an audition. With his help I was accepted into my high school’s A cappella group “Madrigals” and overall I would recommend. We made it work and tried to make the best out of the situation. Great experience:)

My kids thoroughly enjoyed lessons with Ed (both guitar and piano). Lessons started with my 7yo and when his brother turned 4yo, he started as well.

I enjoy teaching beginners to advanced levels. I specialize in beginning learners and believe that the initial path of studying should be reinforced with a positive teaching style and the right technique for that individual student. There is not a 'cookie cutter" music book for any beginner. As a teacher I learn the style of each student that best suits there goals to move forward.

I am a Musical Director who has scored original music for many motion pictures and television and was musical arranger for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. 24 yo Baritone | I've taken singing lessons with Steve for about 10 months. Before starting, I had moderate singing experience from competitive high school choirs but had regressed by picking up a few bad habits in the 6-ish years since.

I came in with few specific goals aside from becoming a better all-around singer.

Steve initially helped me improve my technique and cultivate a fuller sound using a variety of physicalization exercises. Since, we have progressed through songs he selected that each challenged certain parts of my voice while also highlighting my strengths. We'd keep coming back to songs I struggled with until I developed the desired skill. In that way, each song kind of brought its own lesson.

10 months later, I have a collection of songs I can perform confidently. In this time, we've also spent time on music theory and focusing on new skills I grew interested in improving (like singing with quiet intensity).

Finally, it's also important to note that Steve has always been patient, kind, and supportive. I was nervous before starting singing lessons again, but his gentle though direct feedback put me at ease quickly.

Steve is simply awesome! He is patient and great with kids. My 5 year old was so comfortable and learned a lot even on his first day.

If you're an aspiring pianist (even if you don't know what a piano looks like), you've come to the right place. I trained classically for 13 years, and in the past 15, I have branched out into musical theater, pop, rock, jazz, blues, and more. I love teaching people who are excited to learn new skills and devoted to having fun.

If you study with me, you'll have agency over what kind of repertoire to learn, and I will suggest songs. It's vital that you love what you're working on!

We'll work on technique, from movement of the fingers, hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders, providing (super fun!) exercises to get those motions in your body.

Most important of all, we'll learn musicality. You will learn how to hear and express the music in a new, deep, and authentic way. This skill can't be taught, but I teach it anyway :)

I look forward to working with you!

About Zak

Hi, I'm Zak! I'm guessing you're here because you love singing. Well, so do I! Small world. My experience ranges far and wide: I've played piano on Broadway for Wicked, Mean Girls, Motown, and The Color Purple; I've music directed middle school productions of Zombie Prom and the new Beatles

Zak is an excellent piano teacher! He is very effective because he really sees things from the student’s perspective. He is quick to see problems and to offer solutions. He is very knowledgeable as well. And, he makes the lessons fun and enjoyable. I highly recommend Zak!

Zak was very helpful in teaching our daughter to read music, learning songs that interested her, and getting her interested in writing songs! He was engaging, patient, kind, and encouraging during every lesson. Zak even helped her relax emotionally during the pandemic!
Josslyn
Working with Zak is an absolute joy! Zak is very attentive, clear, and supportive through it all. Anybody would be lucky to have him as a vocal coach, not only for the improvement and growth he helps provide, but the mutual celebration when I finally “nailed it”. Definitely take lessons with Zak if you want a fun, productive, and caring work environment.

Ms. Miya is an incredible piano teacher. She is full of energy, love, and genuine enthusiasm in what she does. In addition to the technical aspects of music, she is talented in encouraging self expression, emotion, and telling a story within playing piano. Miya has both a friendly but professional demeanor and I would strongly recommend her to any student looking for a teacher.

Miya is an excellent voice teacher. She really connected with my daughter and inspired her. Miya went above and beyond. She came to the solo ensemble competition and gave my daughter a fantastic pep talk that helped her relax and give a great performance. I was also very impressed with how professional Miya conducted herself. She was younger than some of our previous music instructors but she was fabulous!
Ben
I had a great experience taking voice lessons from Miya! She is an amazing, thoughtful, and talented teacher. Before I took lessons, I was unconfident in singing alone or singing solos. Since taking lessons with Miya, I have gained much more confidence as a soloist, and have grown so much as a singer. I am very grateful to Miya for all that she has taught me!

"Great Piano Teacher

This is not the piano teacher you remember! Oh how I wish I had a teacher like Jesse when I was a kid! He grabbed my daughter's interest from the beginning by teaching her to play a simple version of a song she loved. He then got her comfortable with the piano in general- then moved to reading and playing sheet music. She will play and practice 1-3 times a day and it is not forced or timed. I love this! I feel like she is being appropriately challenged and learning what it takes to become a good artist! He has a lot of great equipment that is fun for the kids and is very on top of music and technology. Thank you Jesse!"
