I studied French in high school and college and spent a month in Marseilles. I am perfectly capable of helping you learn the basics of the language, how to pronounce words correctly and conjugate basic verbs and such.

About Kevin
I have had a fairly diverse musical background, including playing with bands and orchestras, as well as participating in choral groups and opera. I have a master's degree in music performance for wind conducting, and a bachelor's degree in music with an emphasis on piano performance.

I have taught private lessons for several years now and I love every moment with my students! I have a real passion for sharing my knowledge and experience with others, both failures and successes. I believe everyone has creative potential, and I believe music is a real universal art form that anyone can tap into if they want. Above all, making and creating music should also be fun!

*** Lesson Details ***
I try to keep my lessons professional but comfortable too. I don't yell at students for messing up or anything like that. I usually have an agenda b
ut am willing to adjust and compromise if the situation dictates. If you don't have a curriculum in mind, I like Alfred's piano courses, but will do my best to find one that fits you as a student best. My initial goals are to make sure the basics of reading music and performing are set so that no matter what musical avenue you want to pursue, you will be successful. I do specialize in classical music but enjoy creating and playing in other genres as well.

I now also offer lessons online, as well as tutoring in most math areas!

***CANCELLATION POLICY***
I kindly ask for 24 hour notice whenever possible if a lesson is going to be missed. Generally speaking, if I don't hear from a student and their lesson time passes I will mark the lesson as missed, but I am also usually more than willing to make up the lesson at a later time.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have a piano keyboard at my home.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I would expect students to have their own instruments as needed, as well as music paper, pencils, etc. I may be able to provide some of those materials on occasion as well as some books/recordings, but will by and large expect students to purchase those for themselves.

*** Specialties ***
I am much more familiar with classical styles and Broadway. My music writing style tends to be somewhere between neo-classical and avant-garde.

This teacher is impossible to get a hold of. Tried leaving several voicemails and text messages. He has a couple different phone #'s. Don't know which, if any, is the active # to use. No response from him ever. Couldn't reschedule because of this. Plus he lied and said I never contacted him. Now I am out a ton of money for lessons I wasn't able to use. Very greedy. I am not happy.

Initially I like to evaluate the student's current comprehension level (regardless of years studied) to better select the appropriate starting point. From there, if there is a specific subject matter or course work/syllabus for a class that needs to be followed, I can tailor lessons to fit those needs. Throughout lessons, I like to bring in elements such as cartoons, newspapers, movie clips, etc. to aid in understanding everyday usage & make learning practical and pertinent to the student.

**30 minute lessons are available for students interested in Conversational French practice (for Intermediate/Advanced Only). Please send me a message if you are interested & we can discuss how to arrange through TakeLessons.

** Discounts will be made available for students wishing to take more than 1 Lesson per week. Please send me a message to make this arrangement.

About Kenji Luis
I grew up speaking English, Portuguese & Japanese in a multilingual family and from a young age developed a strong affinity & penchant for languages. I attended an English-Portuguese Bilingual school through 6th grade and studied Japanese 4 years in high school, along with weekend Japanese school classes. In college I went on to major in International Relations & Diplomacy with a concentration in French studies, also honing my Spanish that I had picked up along the way (with Romance Languages, I have a very easy time of language absorption). I've gone on to work for international companies wherein my language skills have been highly sought after, translating & communicating often in all my language strengths.

As a native speaker with over 15 years of experience teaching French to students of all experience levels, my goal is to share with others my love for the beautiful language that is French! With my lessons, I strive to create personal and individualized courses, as opposed to many curricula which have rigid study schedules and unforgiving pace. French is my second language, but often feels as it if were the first, as I have speaking it for so many years on an everyday and professional basis. My grammar is excellent, as I learned the rules in junior high school in the Paris suburbs (grammar is an important part of French schooling). I edited a 240-page scholarly book, De La Case A La Villa (published 2014), and I gave private lessons.

About Diane
Hello!

I have been teaching on and off for many years, usually on a one-to-one basis. I have taught teenagers and adults. I tailor my lessons to each student's individual needs and I am always ready to go above and beyond the basic lesson. I try to make learning a language fun, through news, stories, and songs.

My graduate educational background is in architecture, followed by an MBA in finance. My native language is English; I learned French when I was nine years old and attended my first French school. Until my MBA, my degrees were all French: the high school diploma (Baccalauréat) and my architecture degree. I also attended high school in Germany, in a German high school, for several years.

As an avid reader since childhood, my spelling has always been excellent, and I worked as a proofreader for an English language magazin
e when I was a university student. I look forward to helping my students reach their language goals.

Fantastic. Or is that France-tastic. Roselyne, as a native speaker, has an intricate knowledge of both grammar and common, day to day language. She even laughs at my franglais jokes.

There is an art to instruction where you are helping to light the way without causing frustration or embarrassment. Roselyne does a great job.

I am a French native speaker from Paris with a Master's degree in Intercultural studies and Applied Foreign Languages.
According to your level and the purpose of your study (school, business, travel, etc.), I will customize a program targeting your needs. So no matter what type of learner you are, in my classes, you will feel at ease. I use grammar books, but also songs, poems, short stories and art to create a real interaction and engagement so that you can improve quickly.

About Marion
I was born and raised in Paris, close to Montmartre. After my Master's degree, I started tutoring French as a second language to American students in exchange programs in Paris. I loved it so much that I basically never stopped.

French is a demanding but extremely rewarding language to learn. In my classes, they are no stupid questions, and no mistakes. Learning a language is a very humbling process that needs to happen in a safe and joyful environment. This is what you will find in my classes.

A bientôt!
