About Anthony
Extensive musical training, including thirteen years of jazz and classical guitar performance and theory, coupled with real-life experience as a studio and touring guitarist offers me a unique approach to music instruction focused on your individual goals and needs.

*** Lesson Details ***
While I do have a general method for education, the priority is always on what the student wants to learn. If you have specific subject material you would like to explore, contact me, I'll certainly help you out in any way I can!

*** Studio Equipment ***

Depending on the situation, I can bring some
of my recording and performance gear to lessons for demonstrations and exercises, including:

-Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier
-Gibson Les Paul Standard
-Carvin DC400 Custom Build
-Music Man JP12 seven string
-A whole host of other amplifiers, mandolins, acoustics, classicals, and folk instruments
-Home studio equipped with Pro Tools 11 and Logic Pro X for recording

*** Travel Equipment ***
I bring with me basic gear for teaching (not much more than sheet music and a guitar), but I can not leave gear with students. If a student had questions about specific types of gear I may have, including effects processors and amplifiers, and would like a hands-on learning approach, they can contact me in advance and I can demo the equipment for them.

About Cristopher
As a musician that has played for about a decade, I have studied and worked to become a teacher. I've played in numerous bands, have worked in studios, and have been teaching for about four years now and am always finding new ways to understand and help accomplish my students' goals. I've studied music theory and composition from Mike Keller (Letters From the fire) and David Meckler (Canada College music department). I'm currently working on an independent album that has begun recording.

*** Lesson Details ***
I find it's easiest to asses the level at which a student is at and work from th
ere, moving towards the goal set by the student using music the student already enjoys, not kiddy books with songs they'll never actually play. My styles focus on technique and work back to theory. I play anything and everything from country to Santana, to Metallica, and to everything in between. I teach from covers to original works.

*** Studio Equipment ***
The equipment I have for the studio are a couple of my electric guitars: Midnight Blue Schecter Omen 6, Ibanez S470DXQM, KSE ASG, Ibanez F0509338, Fender Stratocaster. My BOSS ME-33 special effects pedal, my Raven RG20 amplifier, and my Fender Frontman 15G amplifier. I also have multiple iMacs for Garageband and a recording studio. (services of which cost additional value for use)

*** Travel Equipment ***
The equipment I have for travel are a couple of my electric guitars: KSE ASG, Ibanez F05, and a Fender Stratocaster. My BOSS ME-33 special effects pedal, my Raven RG20 amplifier, and my Fender Frontman 15G amplifier.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in technique so I can help even the newest of players find their style and learn how to work on memorizing the fretboard without even having to look at it or your finger placement. I can also help more advanced players smooth out their way of playing.

My daughter has so far two lessons with Deborah and she always comes out smiling. She said she really likes her. I believe it is because she makes her relaxed enough to share with her the kind of music she enjoys.

Stephen is the perfect teacher for my 14 year old son who is a beginner on trumpet. My son enjoys trumpet as a hobby, and plays in his school band. Stephen's lessons are fun and low pressure. He is remarkably calm and professional, and he doesn't waste any lesson time. My son looks forward to his lessons with Stephen.

Learning Guitar: Understanding Minor and 7th Chords
What are minor and 7th chords anyway? TakeLessons teacher Brian T. breaks down the music theory behind building these chords... Learning guitar chords is one of the early challenges of learning the guitar. Very often a new student will find themselves presented with a host of fingering patterns that make little sense. Here, Lowell, IN teacher Blake C. shares how to get started...   Many musicians avoid learning music theory altogether because it can feel much like learning a foreign language; as a result, many musicians enlist in the anti-music theory organization. I will admit it – I was a member of the anti-music theory organization in my early years, declaring that music theory
