Learning Japanese? As being a composer for short Anime films and having a Japanese background, I have worked with Japanese companies for many years and trained employees of different companies in not only speaking Japanese but also the business culture. But that is not all my classes are for everybody for those planning a trip to Japan. What's special of my classes is that we learn to have a conversation for different situations every week. You will start talking after your first class! CHECK OUT MY VIDEOS HERE ON TL FOR JAPANESE TIPS!

About Rosita
I have been singing and studying voice for over 23 years since I was a child! I hold a Bachelors from Musicians Institute and other accomplished degrees from American Musical Dramatic Academy to conclude my quest for vocal excellence and the ability to sing in multiple languages ( English, Spanish, Japanese and Italian) I have been lucky enough to study with some of the top teachers in the country and now I bring the experience I have gained directly to you!

I am proud to share my student's vast array of musical successes. From being cast on short anime films and musicals to being accepted into prestigious performing arts academies to conquering the Karaoke scene. My passion for multiple languages and love of music is the desire driving me to share the gifts for teaching young children to open the door to their own musical abilities an
d hidden artistic desires. I am currently writing a musical which will be debuting in 2020. I'm currently the vocal coach/Trainer and choir director at Iglesia Elim Central.

I will make sure my students have fun and help them get in the right track to their musical goals.

Also, I constantly upload videos on Singing, The Spanish Language, and Japanese! So keep Checking in! It ranges on tips and answering the most common questions on those particular subjects!

Also There are discounted rates for worship teams and church choirs. For more information please contact me through the "Ask a Question feature"

*** Lesson Details ***
I do my absolute best to create a positive atmosphere for my students. Even when the students feel frustrated or stressed, it is important to inspire them and give them the fuel that they need. Though I am strict when it comes to homework and their about their studies. Every lesson at the beginning I will review what we learned previously and test them.
then begin with proper breathing technique exercises, the cornerstone of all vocals. We move on to vocal exercises to condition the voice. Then we work on the songs that you are eager to sing!

I will use a piano when doing vocal warm ups and conditioning exercises. Students that play other instruments and accompany themselves when performing (such as a guitar) are encouraged to bring that instrument to their lessons. My goal is for them to gain the knowledge that they need to help reach their artistic goals.
With all my lessons every student will be taught a basic run down of Music Theory. My students will always progress in what they do. They will have the discipline that they need and yet have fun and be filled with inspiration. Which is the most important thing, to be Inspired to do better.

*** Studio Equipment ***
iMac, condensing mic...performing mic, keyboard, mixer...living room of apartment.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I do have a portable keyboard. Though I do expect the student to have their own recording device and karaoke tracks. At Home I do have a studio, and if the students has an iPod or an Mp3 player I can attach it to a device where all of us can hear the tracks. I do have a recording studio as well.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in Musical Theatre, and Pop rock genres. When I teach my students I always have them learn a song of another language whether it's Spanish or Japanese. It helps with diction when they learn a song outside the English Language. Also, It helps them to learn another Language at the same time. Also, I give them a little anatomy class when they are learning how to sing. I give them a model of the Vocal Cords and different areas of the Larynx and which part works for the chest voice and the head voice.

I'm a Nurse Practitioner and I happened to find about Rosita through a friend. I told her about why I wanted to learn Spanish and apparently she was developing a course for that. What struck me the most is that she listens to her student's needs. She already had an understanding how different nurses work and how crazy it could be. She really narrowed down for those that do not want to be fluent but at be able to communicate with our patients and I appreciated that. I wasn't looking to take High School Spanish again and she didn't. Although we did have to go over some grammar but she explained how it can be used in my line of work. For those that are looking to be conversational in Spanish in her course Beginning Spanish for Medical Professionals I really recommend it my colleagues out there!

About Taro T.

Washington, DC

View Full Profile

I'm a native Japanese speaker here to help you learn Japanese. My aim is to help you gain not only the Japanese skills but also the cultural awareness to help you navigate in situations in which you need to use Japanese. I approach my lessons with customization that is only possible in private teaching. I teach students of all ages who are able to take at least 6 months of my lessons. I look forward to making contribution to your learning.

About Taro

My name is Taro, and I am from Kobe. I have been teaching Japanese since 2015 to students of all ages.

Learning a new language could be difficult. The initial reason I came to the US was to learn English. I eventually finished Tulane University and American University for my BA and MA, but I struggled with English in the beginning.

I had got comfortable with my English after some time, and since I have been interested in learning languages, I also learned Spanish. Through the process, I have learned effective ways to learn a new language, which I will be sharing with you.

One of the most important things while learning a new language is to develop a solid foundation of the basics. Once you have developed the basics, the rest will come with less effort. So I like giving structures to my students using different core ma
terials so they can get the basics right.

In addition, I use Google Sheet in which you can see all the lessons and homework in one document. This simplifies the learning process which enables you to keep track of the materials you are covering.

Students have different reasons for studying Japanese, so I give customization based on the need of each student outside the core materials.

I am glad that you are interested in learning Japanese. Japan has a beautiful culture, and I look forward to helping you get to the level you desire so you can have a renewed appreciation for what Japan offers.

I have been taking Japanese lessons with Taro Sensei for about 5 months. He is a very patient and organized instructor. He designs the teaching material based on my specific level and goals. I enjoy the fun conversation with him during every lesson. My Japanese skill has improved gradually as time goes by. Thank you Taro Sensei.

Taguchi Sensei has helped improve my Japanese tremendously! Not only is he able to accommodate my sometimes crazy schedule, but he's very patient while learning, will go in-depth on topics I don't quite understand and will provide exercises for me on those topics. He's personal, so we use real-time situations from my life to practice with (describing my day at work, where my cats are, what I ate, etc.)

When I visted Japan this year, I owe it to him that I was able to have the amazing experiences I did. Because of him, I was able to understand the language, the culture, and have the confidence in speaking with locals.

I appriciate all the help and encourgaement that he's provided.

I've been studying Japanese got 7 years now. I can teach you basic Japanese.

About Lily
I've been sewing since I was 13. I've sewn things over the years such as dresses, pajamas. I do a lot of tailoring things too. I just love to sew, and I love teaching people to sew too!

The way that I teach is to help the student develop their own style. I have students work on their own individual projects that they pick out while asking me questions that they might have while they are doing their project.

However, if they would like there is an option for me to develop lessons for the student on certain sewing techniques that the student could learn. Although, be aware that learning how to sew takes time and that all the techniques of sewing cannot be done all at once.

Then, there is the third option that the lesson could be a mix of the student doing what they want (choosing their own project) and learning some pre-designed

My first goal is to give my students all of the tools they need to feel confident from the very first lesson. I would like for all of my students within the first lesson to finish either of two basic projects (pajama pants or a draw string bag).

My lessons are not like videos you may find online. Meaning projects will take longer than you think they will. I will work with you to properly construct a quality finished project without too many frustrations and in a timely manner. I recommend buying lessons in 90 minute packages, since sewing always takes longer than expected.

In these lessons we will go over the following, which can be adapted to how you want:

- Sewing safety and how to use a machine
- Learn about the sewing tools you'll be using
- How to read, cut out, layout, and follow a basic pattern instructions
- How to pin and sew a seam, finish seams and sew hems
- Learn to sew on an elastic band (to pajamas or for a tote).
- Learn how to unpick your projects when a mistake is made.
- Learn how to do a basic stitch and the gather stitch.
- Pajamas
- Sewing Tote
- Basic Dress
- Pillow case

- Cement what you learned in the while a beginner.
- Learn to hand sew hems etc.
- Learn about different fabrics and when to use them.
- Sew a basic zipper onto clothes or bags.
- Learn about the different foots.
- Learn to do other stitches
- Intermediate Dresses/ Clothes
- Bags

- Work on your own projects you choose with help.
- Work with harder fabrics.
-Use a zipper foot to sew an invisible zipper.
- Learn to do advanced stitches
-Learn about pleats and darts.
- Prom dress
- Suits
- Formal Coats
- Backpacks

Whether it is for a hobby, to decorate your house, to prepare for design school, or to make your own clothes, I can teach you from the very basic sewing skills, to more advance topics such as modifying your patterns to make clothes that fit.

I grew up speaking both Japanese and English at home and understand the difficulty of trying to juggle both languages! Whether you want to learn a new language, or simply want to brush up on your Japanese skills, I am always happy to be of help! Lessons will include reading, writing, listening, and speaking (both formal and colloquial styles). I typically use the Genki and Tobira books and also like to introduce students to classic and modern Japanese literature as a way to enhance the students’ cultural knowledge. I welcome beginning and intermediate Japanese students!

About Mona
I'm an active flutist and Japanese enthusiast currently living in Seattle, WA! I hold degrees in Flute Performance from New England Conservatory and the University of Washington, and will continue my studies on Fulbright at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland this fall. I believe that learning music should be fun and inspiring, but that 95% of artistry is simply hard work! I therefore create a positive and encouraging environment for all of my students, while still setting challenging goals. Additionally, I tailor my teaching to fit each student’s needs so that learning potential can be maximized. Stylistic choices in musical expression/phrasing are encouraged through the incorporation of music theory, music history, and ear training skills into lessons. I also believe that body awareness is important, and will include stretches and
practice methods into each lesson, so students can practice efficiently and prevent injuries!

I grew up speaking both Japanese and English and welcome beginning Japanese students! Students and I work out of the Genki I, Genki II, and the Tobira textbooks. Japanese lessons focus on reading, writing, and speaking standard Japanese at the conversational level.

Mona was very professional and well prepared for our first lesson. We got right to the meat of the subject and I learned a lot in only a single session. She adapted the pace and the content of the lesson to match my pace of learning which is very much appreciated. I look forward to learning more!

I am a private tutor of Japanese for all ages, currently from age 7 to middle-age. I love to be a witness when my students suddenly "get" something new we've been working on for a while. Japanese is a fascinating, beautiful, and complicated language, and it's exciting to be a partner in my students' achievements and success!

I have a lot of experience teaching middle school and high school age students--including my own kids, whom I homeschool. My first visit to Japan was a semester study abroad in my senior year of high school, and I've lived there off and on since then. My students receive the benefit of my life experiences there, including preparation for the realities of daily life in Japan--from how to use the public transit, to what to do during a natural disaster.

Along with my on-the-ground experience working in Japan as a translator/interpreter in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment, I hold an M.A. in Japanese and N1 (highest level) certification on the Japanese ...

About Clare
After two years working as a translator/interpreter for a local government office in Kochi, Japan, I moved back to the US last year. Since then, I have been a private teacher of Japanese for all ages, currently from age 7 to mid-40s. Japanese is a fascinating, beautiful, and complicated language, and it's exciting to be a partner in my students' achievements and success!

I am highly experienced in teaching middle school and high school age students--including my own kids, whom I homeschool. My first visit to Japan was a semester study abroad in my senior year of high school, so I can give ample advice to students who are preparing to go to Japan. Along with my on-the-ground experience living and working in Japan in a fast-paced and hig

Clare is awesome. I am taking Japanese casually simply because I enjoy the culture. Knowing that Clare not only teaches me the language but also, what it's like in day to day life or how their society compares to ours.
Clare never makes me feel like our lessons are rushed and if I'm not understanding I am 100% comfortable asking her to go over it with me again.
She is a very encouraging and kind person highly recommend taking lessons with Clare.
