Chun-Shu started her musical career at age 5. In junior high and high school, she played piano in concert orchestra. During this time, she also started violin and flute. In college she continued her studies in music by taking various piano and music theory classes. She also started to teach piano for a variety of age groups.

I am a patient, enthusiastic teacher in the following areas: piano, violin, cello, drums, music history, and music theory. I have taught vocal and instrumental music in both Catholic and Public schools, and in after-school programs, for 20 years, and have been giving private lessons for 9 years. I enjoy teaching music to all age students, and especially enjoy watching my students grow in their music ability.

I received my Bachelor of Arts from Marygrove College in Detroit in Language Arts with minors in Music Education and History,and my Masters Degree from Wayne State University in Education with emphasis on English as a Second Language and Sign Language for the Deaf. I have studied Music Education for K-5 at Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan.

I have been singing and playing piano all of my life. I took my first music lesson I was just three years old I never looked back! After high school I earned my Bachelor of Music Performance and my Master of Music. I attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. It was in Louisiana where I began my teaching career, just over ten years ago.

After returning to Michigan, I began teaching K-12 music in both public and private school settings. I currently maintain a private studio in addition to teaching voice part-time at Oakland Community College and I teach piano through a community outreach program.

Anne received her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education with a Vocal Emphasis from Oakland University in Rochester, MI in 2008. She has taught privately since 2006.

Anne uses her experience with performing solos and singing in a variety of ensembles and well as her knowledge of vocal technique, music theory, music history, ear training and piano to best aid her students in improving their voices or beginning their piano studies. She also uses her experience as a voice coach and her understanding of learning theories, specifically Constructivism, to best teach each individual.

Anne has trained under some of the most prominent names in the metro-Detroit area, many of whom have performed around the world in opera and musical theatre productions. Anne has also performed in productions throughout the metro-Detroit area. She uses many of the same methods that her voice teachers used on her, and that have allowed her to grow into a professional singer.

Having grown up with music (my Dad was a drummer in the Navy and in several local dance bands), it’s difficult to believe I have been able to make a living doing something I have enjoyed all my life. Starting, obviously on the drums, I was involved at an early age in a marching drum and baton corp that played in numerous parades throughout the summer months. I played tenor drum and ended up playing glockenspiel, learning the two songs “Five Foot Two” and “Ain’t She Sweet.” Shortly after that I began learning to play the organ. I started out at a local music store learning things like “Alley Cat” and “Whispering,” and after a few years moving on to lessons from a local Church Organist and my career blossomed from there.

I am a summa cum laude graduate of both the University of Evansville's (IN) celebrated Music Therapy program, with two years of piano pedagogy training and Georgia State University’s Vocal Music Education graduate program. I have performed across the country with an extensive range of professional and student musicians and have served as faculty accompanist with several universities. For over two decades, I have worked as a church musician, directing choirs of all ages and serving as both organist and pianist.

My studios have expanded successfully to as many as 80 private students (from ages 5-90 at both beginning and advanced levels) along with small group classes, and I have taught thousands of students throughout my 26 years of experience as a music educator. I studied private piano into my high school years and studied organ and voice in college where I was a vocal soloist. I attended Concordia College, Ann Arbor, Mi and received my BA in Music Education from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa

Over the past ten years, I have accompanied both Middle School and High School Choirs and instrumentalists, played organ and directed church choirs. I continue to accompany choirs and instrumentalists, as well as play organ in two churches and direct a Middle School Choir Chime group. I've enjoyed working with students in large group settings as well as one on one. Sharing music is a great joy.

I love teaching, simply love teaching! I teach students of all ages. I teach piano, voice, clarinet, and saxophone. I have taught for over 20 years. My students have lots of opportunities for performance, if they choose to. We perform at Nursing Homes, Retirements, Festival of Trees, and Seasonal Recitals. There are at least 2 recitals a year, 1 at Christmas and 1 in the Spring, if enough participation, we often have one in summer with a party afterward. We also participate in the Michigan Music Association competition. I have also had students perform in Disney World in Florida!!! I have been in many musicals such as Annie, Gypsy, Rock Around the Clock. I have put on solo recitals. I am a member of my church choir. My students and I have fun while we are learning music! It is the best job ever.

My name is Daniel B., I have been teaching students for many years. I have a masters degree in piano pedagogy from Michigan State University. Not only do I just play classical music, but I also play many other genres, and play for many musicals, as well as dueling piano shows. I can play by ear, or by sight, whichever is required for the gigs I pursue.

I began playing piano 18 years ago when my parents finally gave in to my pleading to take lessons. I had several piano teachers throughout my childhood who all varied in their styles and techniques, but all used a relaxed, student driven approach, which is how I like to conduct my lessons. In high school, I began working as a rehearsal pianist for the Grand Rapids Ballet Company and continued to play for them for four years. I attended Aquinas College where piano and clarinet were my major instruments. I transferred to Western Michigan University to join their music therapy program and continued my studies in clarinet. Post college graduation I have held several accompanist positions and have performed in a number of four and eight piano concerts. I love playing piano and want to share that joy with others!
