About Me

Musical Background
My goal as a piano teacher is to help every student understand and learn to appreciate the language of Music. Every student is unique and therefore receives a personalized piano education. No two student learn exactly the same way at precisely the same speed! Therefore treating students as individuals is very important to me. With time students will discover what music means to them personally. The impact and influence of music on people is precious in many different ways. Piano lessons are a lifetime investment and its rewards and benefits will help enrich your life.

I am a classically trained pianist from Germany, where I acquired a Piano Teaching Certification. Thanks to my wonderful piano teacher who was both a concert pianists and college-level music professor I now can share my love for music with others. I have taken college-level piano classes in music theory and group instruction. Also, to further my education, I am studying various piano pedagogy material in order to be of even better service to my students.

My teaching background consists of four years of experience in teaching not only piano, but also tutoring Math, Latin and German, which greatly contributed to the expansion and deepening of my teaching skills. Most importantly, after moving to the US several years ago, I founded the Musical Moonlight Piano Studio, which is now celebrating its two-year anniversary. Watching a student succeed is the highest reward a teacher can receive and I am looking forward to see you become a member of the studio.

*** Lesson Details ***
Although no lesson is exactly the same and every student is approached differently, the basic structure usually resembles the following:

2. Review homework, work through it, correct mistakes, improve performance, etc.
3. Introduce new pieces, new material (e.g. theory)

*** Studio Equipment ***
The Studio Equipment includes (but is not limited to):
- a piano
- metronome
- a variety of music

Before you start piano lessons, you will need to have a functioning piano and an honest desire to learn to play :)

*** Travel Equipment ***
- piano literature
- metronome
- any necessary additional material

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in teaching piano. Although most of my experience is from teaching children and teenagers, adults are most welcome as well. I am fully convinced that it is never too late to start learning how to play an instrument!
