About Me

I am a music therapist and vocal instructor and I truly love it. I have a great deal of experience working with children, teens, and adults with special needs including, autism, Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy, emotional disturbances and developmental delays.

I treat the educative setting much like the therapy setting: fostering an atmosphere of creativity, support, relaxation and fun.

As a voice teacher, I want to help my students settle comfortably into their own musicality by showing them the building blocks of a solid technique, drawing particularly from the things that helped me grow as a vocalist. I want my students to feel strong in their body, comfortable and relaxed in their breath, and confident in their performance. Vocal technique, repertoire building and theory are important components for anyone who is serious about becoming a musician. From the very beginner to the seasoned singer, a regular voice lesson allows singers to strengthen their skills, develop their technique, and learn more about themselves as an artist.

I have a minor in English with a focus on fiction writing. I have worked professionally as an editor of scholarly writing on both the college and post-college level, as well as a professional editor of multiple dissertations, and other publications. Being a creative person, I find language to be a wonderful way to express thoughts and emotions as well as communicate deeply with others.

I am a certified yoga instructor teaching in many locations throughout Westchester. I was trained at Yoga Haven in Scarsdale, New York with Betsy Kase, and earned a 200-hour certificate in Asana, Pranayama, and Meditation. I offer private yoga instruction at my home studio. My studio comes fully equipped with all yoga props, aromatherapy, and music. Hands-on-assists and personalized classes offered to deepen your experience.

I offer guided meditation and deep relaxation as part of a developing yogi's practice, or simply on it's own. Please contact me regarding any questions you might have about delving more deeply into your own meditation practice.
