Yuichi H. was born in Tokyo, Japan. His musical career started at age 10 when he performed marimba in a music recital. He started playing drum set at age 14 and joined a wind ensemble, a few rock bands, and a jazz big band. With some of these groups, he performed at several live music venues in Tokyo. In 1991, he composed the music and performed drums and percussion in a production of Othello, at The Globe Tokyo Panasonic Theater.
In the fall of 1991, with a full scholarship, he attended Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA. He studied jazz drums mainly with Joe Hunt and Jon Hazilla, and orchestral percussion with Dean Anderson. Also, he took many classes in jazz composition and arranging with Gregg Hopkins and Jeff Friedman. He was the recipient of "The Cuccinello Percussion Award" and the "Berklee Percussion Department Achievement Award." Music is my foundation, motivation, and inspiration. From my first music-making experiences in high school playing drum set student, to my days as a Music Therapy student at the John J. Cali School of Music, I am constantly searching for opportunities to make music and learn more about music.

In my search of musical opportunities of I have the great pleasure of playing with many different people, in many different musical genres ranging from Jazz Rock to Funk, all the way to Classical, and even to music from across the globe as a Tabla, Riqq, and Mbira student.

Throughout college, and following graduation I worked as a private music instructor developing lesson plans and helping my students develop their relationship with music while reaching their musical goals.

As a Board Certified Music Therapist I have also had the great fortune of working with all different kinds of people, from 5 to 100 and from all over the developmental spectrum find ways to make music.

Born in New York City and always surrounded by different music, Michael began studying at a very early age with the piano. Later on, he got serious with the upright and electric bass and got his degree from SUNY Purchase in jazz performance. At SUNY Purchase, Michael studied with some of the best teachers in New York such as Hal Galper, Todd Coolman, and Kermit Driscoll. He has a lot of experience as a performer in New York City as both a leader and a sideman in many different styles of music. His formal background is jazz but he can be seen regularly performing with pop, rock, hip hop, funk, and soul groups.

I've been teaching full time since 2005, and I can teach players of all ages and all levels, in most styles. I have also taught bass students as well as music theory and songwriting concepts.

I've been playing guitar for 19 years. I started at the age of 13 with my dad's nylon string classical guitar and a book of chords, and spent several years teaching myself and learning songs by ear.

When I graduated high school, I knew I wanted to study music, but was determined to take formal lessons and learn theory before applying to music colleges. I took theory courses at Northampton Community College while studying jazz concepts with Lehigh Valley area guitar teachers Paul Demarest and Frank Flandorffer.

Born and raised in New York City, Matthew "Matt" is an accomplished and respected musician. Matt has been playing guitar for over 20 years and piano for over 10 years and is currently involved in several projects including three bands which have performed in some of NYC's hottest venues including but not limited to CBGB"s, The Bitter End, Crash Mansion, and Kenny's Castaways. Currently Matt is a finalist for an international music competition for Indie acts where he showcases his guitar and vocal abilities.
Matt was formerly educated at Queensborough College. He is competent in multiple areas such as theory, technique, sight reading, ear training, and recording engineering. Music has always been a big part of my life and I really enjoy giving the gift of music to other people. I began teaching guitar lessons during high school after a family friend asked me if I could show him a few things. From there I developed my technique as a teacher and my roster of students grew through word of mouth before I went off to college.

EDUCATION

I attended New York University in the fall of 2004, majoring in Music Composition at the Steinhardt School of Education. I studied privately with Dr. Joseph Church, who was the Music Director for the Lion King on Broadway, as well as The Who's Tommy. He was a true mentor and helped me hone my skills as a songwriter, lyricist and vocalist.

During my time at NYU I spent a year teaching group guitar lessons at the Edgies Teen Center in Lower Manhattan. In this low-income neighborhood it was really important to give my students an outlet to express themselves in a positive way by learning the importance of music....

I like to combine fundamental knowledge (such as music theory, ear training, improvisation, reading music, writing charts, and technique) with current styles of music like Pop, R&B, and Hip-Hop in addition to Jazz and Blues.

I do this with my career and enjoy teaching it to my students.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music in 2008 with a degree in Professional Music.

One of my strengths as a teacher and performer is my versatility.
I've played with groups ranging in styles from Rock, Hip Hop and Country to Avant-Garde Jazz and Latin music.
One of the newest projects I'm involved in plays spontaneously composed music.

I am experienced with all ages from 5 - adult and have been teaching lessons for ~8 years. I began as a volunteer in High School and built a larger private base of students while in college. I have played lead guitarist/singer/songwriter roles in several rock bands, as well as participated in award winning ensembles of all varieties (Jazz Bands, Wind Symphonies, Marching Band, Symphonic Band). Despite a background rich in performance, teaching is my foremost skill and profession. In addition to lessons, I've taught in the classroom setting. I was the first Popular Music and Jazz Major to graduate from the University of Rochester/Eastman School of Music. Currently, I'm completing my Master's Degree at Hunter College in Manhattan in Music Education while maintaining a flexible schedule as to accommodate new students.

Hi there, my name is Cory and I'm a professional musician born and raised in NYC. I play guitar and I let no genre escape my grasp, I even make up my own. I've been playing since I was a teenager and I am currently acquiring my Master's degree in guitar performance at Hunter College.
