About Murray

My musical career started at age 3 when my parents placed a pair of drum sticks in my hands. I started playing drums in church and then progressed to play in middle school where I was part of the jazz band and orchestra. With some very early lessons, I begin to blossom into a skillful drummer. I then continued to play in bands in high school and, in addition, became a member of the Milford Mill Academy Marching Band. In my sophomore year, I became the section leader of the drum line where I played & mastered the snare drum. I have 2 degrees in music theory from Deer Park Magnet school and Morgan State University. I have performed with many bands from all different musical genres such as gospel, funk, pop, jazz, blues, rock, Latin, reggae, and R&B. In 2004 I became the only ...

One of many words to describe Murray, AWESOMENESS! Meeting Murray and learning under his instructions has brought a bigger meaning to playing the drums. His love of drums and music shows in how he teaches his students. He never criticizes your mistakes and works along side of you, teaching you, until you learn and understand it all. He is very patient, professional and the best drummer I have ever met. I am truly blessed to have him as an instructor and look forward to many years of his teachings. Not enough stars in the world to rate him!!!!!

I have been teaching private lessons for close to 10 years and have been an active performer for even longer, playing in all different types of groups, from rock bands and jazz groups to orchestras and brass bands. I studied music at Frostburg State University (Bachelors) and the Peabody Conservatory (Masters). *** Lesson Details ***
My lessons are laid back, with a focus on perfecting the basics. Most students work out of a method book appropriate to their skill level. Aside from that we'll also spend time learning songs and pieces of the students choice. With the right amount of effort, you'll know your way around your ...

Great Teacher

Nathan is a great teacher. I had always wanted to learn the bass guitar and had zero experience. He has a great feeling for music and teaches it very well. I really have enjoyed my lessons.

Singing
Incredible teacher and singer

Zack is one of the best teacher/performers I know. He understands the voice inside and out, and combines clear practical teaching with a holistic, whole-body approach to performing. I would highly recommend him to anyone serious about becoming a better singer.

Graham K. College Park, MD

I have a degree in Music Education, and I am a percussionist. I took lessons in college while pursuing a Masters Degree in conducting. I have performed countless solos and studied many method books in all areas of percussion including mallets, timpani, snare drum, and drum set.

About Graham

I earned a Bachelors in Music Education as a percussionist in 2006 at Mansfield University. I took lessons for 8 semesters with three different teachers, so I have various teaching styles I can choose from. Also, as a music ed major I took classes on flute, clarinet, sax, oboe, bassoon, trumpet, french horn, trombone, baritone, tuba, strings, and multiple piano classes.

I then went on to be a band director for 6 years. During that time I was able to give my students private and group lessons on their instruments. In addition, I had a couple private students on guitar, drums, and piano.

I left the classroom to pursue a Masters Degree in Instrumental Conducting at Mansfield University. I played in the marching band, wind ensemble, and orchestra while working on my masters ...

For those students interested in any of my crafting lessons, I have been making crafts since I was too young to remember. My methods of teaching vary depending on the student and what they need to succeed. Please let me know if you have issues with animals, I can put them in another part of the house. I have both cats and a dog.

DIANE R. Glen Burnie, MD

I've been teaching drums for many years and have had the pleasure of seeing students grow into new roles they would have never imagined for themselves.

I feel that students learn best when lessons are enjoyable and that's what I like to provide.
Students learn to read music, play rudiments, interpret "charts" (or instrumental parts.)
School drummers and percussionists also learn about timpani and mallets (bells.)
Most importantly, they learn about the art of playing with other musicians.

About DIANE

Diane R. has a B.A. in music and has many years of experience teaching all levels and styles of drumming.
Currently, she is a staff sergeant with the Maryland Defense Force Band and has played twice for the White House.

Diane is a member of the Vic Firth Education Team.
